Default I need to ge back on track!

Hello

I have to confess that since the middle of August I haven't been weighing/measuring my food, or sticking to any basic principles. I blame it on the fact that coming home from holidays to 24 inches of water in our basement, led me on a different path. So really havent been in the frame of mind to think and do things for me, just been busy cleaning out and drying out the basement.

BUT......that is almost at the fun stage of rebuilding, so time to get back on track, the good news is that I havent gained any weight back, and so can hope that once I start counting calories again, the weight will start to fall again.

I love reading the posts and get immense encouragement to keep going, seeing other people succeed and sharing their thoughts on the same journey.

Thanks everyone for being there.

Hello Fiffabfiftyfive,
sounds as though cleaning out basements is good exercise!

Hi FitFab,
You are so fortunate not to have gained any weight while going through such a crisis. If that had been me I'd have gained for sure. I did this summer after my mother died. I had a hard time getting back into the swing of things too, but once I made up my mind I had to get serious again I started by making out menus for the month so I'd know exactly what I was having for dinner each day. That really helped. It took a little longer to get back to walking but I'm doing that each day that weather permits. Soon as you can get some spare time start by making your plan and write it down as goals you'd like to accomplish. I don't mean long-term goals like "lose 50 pounds" but short term like "walk X times a week" or "don't buy potato chips" (my personal nemesis). Have a look at the Halloween Challenge up in the sticky area and see what I mean. I'm up there and the challenge with it's goals has really helped me stay on track. You can sign up to the challenge any time. You just put in your goals and then everyday go back and edit your post so you can chart your progress.

And I hope all your new renovations stay dry and clean.
