Thumbs up June Accountability

ACCOUNTABILITY

ACTIONS THAT REFLECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE PERSON YOU WANT TO BE

This is NOT a Challenge - it is a place for us to record our daily behaviors (behaviours) toward being personally responsible for our EFFORTS. We cannot control our OUTCOMES - weight - however, we can control our EFFORTS - daily actions aimed at losing/maintaining weight.

If you want to give this thread a try, just post 1 message on this thread. Each day during the month, all of the Age 50+ ladies are invited to add to their original message (using the "edit" button) by updating information about actions they have taken toward meeting their goal of losing/maintaining weight.

There is no single format - feel free to be creative. The winners on this thread are all of us who continue to work toward being accountable for our actions!

Seems that I've been left all alone on this thread! No more interest?

Hi Mary,

My course ends today & I'm recovering from the loss of my much beloved cat (died on Friday - was 15 years old).

I will be back online regularly after today.

Hi Mary,

Thank you for your words of sympathy.

From my experience, lots of folks fall away from their healthy eating/exercising plans over the summer and come back to them in the Fall.

This thread is useful for me to keep on track & I will keep it going every month.

I see you are counting "carb servings." What plan are you following to identify a "carb serving?"

I'm a diabetic (type II) and the dietician set up my plan although I am not keeping to it nearly as well as I should. For diabetics a carb serving is 15 gm of carbohydrate. We can substract 1/2 the fiber if it is 5 or more.

Hi Mary,

I'm diabetic (type II) also. I count the grams. Try to do fewer than 50/day. I've found that does not work for me to subtract the fiber. If I go over 50/day, my blood sugar spikes.

I take meds, but not insulin.

Wow, 50 grams is not much! I am allowed up to 12 servings (180 grams) but she would prefer I stayed around 10 (150 grams). Have a hard time with that though.
