i need help pls

  • hi everyone,

my mom wants to lose few kgs. She's been overweight for a long time. She's never been a yoyo diet, but she tried lots of pills (and yeah, they never work). She eats lots of healthy food, all the time, but never lose (well she doesn't gain much either - she stays maintenance at that weight).

This time, with my encourage from my own experiences, she wants to lose it once for all. I want her to be healthy, and feel good about herself, so I really want to help her. I want to ask for your menu for a day so i can have an idea to give her a plan for a day.

btw, my mother is 158 cm and 68 kg - and 56 years old. She does very light exercise daily. I think 1400 calories per day is a good start, but i really am not sure if it's really a good start. Please help me. I want to 100% sure for my mother's health so i doubt myself alot >"< So i really need your helps from all wise people here.

    Thank you for your reading.
  • Hey there,

If your mom would like to join 3FC, she could ask these things for herself!

We aren't professionals and can't really give you diet plans here... each of us only knows what program works for us. We can give examples, but we don't know enough about your mom to come up with a plan for her.

Has she considered a program like Weight Watchers? Lots of people have good results with that.

At the height and weight you have specified, she doesn't have too much weight to lose to be at a healthy level. She comes out to 150 lbs. and 5ft 2in. If she lost 15-20 pounds (7-9 kg) she would be in the normal range.

I'd say you're in the right range with 1350-1400 calories per day for weight loss for her.

You might check out www.freedieting.com for more information.

    Cheers!

While I'm not a personal trainer, I worked with one for eight months. She suggested 1200 calories per day for four days, then a 1700 calorie day, then back to 1200 per day for four days. The change prevents your metabolism from getting used to the 1200 calories and slowing down.

    Hope this helps.
