Default "Normal Weight Obesity"

This little gem turned up in my in-basket this morning. . . . . . http://www.everydayhealth.com/public...betes_20080402 . . . just when we thought we were all heading in the right direction (and we are), along comes the latest catch-phrase.

Just about as much fun as the phrase "Reduced Obese" -- there's a good article on that one over in the Maintainers Forum -- which tells us we will never have as active a metabolism as those who have never had serious weight problems.

Hey, doesn't mean we give up, gang . . . just (IMHO anyway) drives home the need to do more moving and shaking . . . . . . and the need for lifelong diligence in our eating habits. . .

PS: Here's a link to the discussion about "Reduced Obese" that I mentioned above . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51478

I read the article. And I agree that just being thin doesn't make you fit. You have to decrease the fat and increase the muscle. And that is what most of us are doing. Lifting weights is a great way to add muscle mass. I also read an article (you can get different oponions everywhere) that said that it didn't have to lower your metabolism, that was just a results of too little muscle. Go, ladies, get out there and lift those weights!!
