Today is day 3 of the SB for me. I've done this diet before; I know it works. I can't remember struggling like this the first time. I would kill to eat something with sugar in it today. I just finished mixing some sugar-free jello but it will be 4 hours before it's ready. It doesn't help that my Mom made a chocolate cake the day before yesterday (my first day back). I know it's there - it's calling my name and it's taking me all I've got to walk away from it. It's so hard when you don't have the support from family members.
I work in customer service for a major shopping network and I left early today because my mood is just sooo ugly. I know it's the desire for sugar. Someone please slap me upside the head and tell me I'll get through this.
I dont know much about the sb diet, but when Im fighting off sugar monsters I eat more protein. Have a boiled egg...or if you want the sweet, have 1/2 an apple with a cheese string. Stuff like that....if you have a sweet carb, make sure you have a protein with it.
You are not alone!!! I am struggling with getting off the sugar myself. UGH! But I do agree that eating protein helps. I think it takes at least three days to get that whole sugar thing out of your system. Just realize that sugar makes insulin levels fluctuate which makes for cravings. Just ride the wave for a few days and they will subside!!!
Also if you do because truly hungery, check out the Jello-intanst-Pudding-ready-mixs. You can get the No-fat, No-Sugar, low-cal, kind.
If your Vegan mix it with soymilk
(found this all out last night...well more like very early morning)
Actually, it doesn't really set with soymilk. It gets thicker, but not the same consistency as with cow milk. Unless you like it a little runny. To each their own, I suppose.
