Default Will someone help me figure this out??

Hi everyone, I've been re-working my diet for about a week now, and I'm a little confused. Almostheaven explained this to me, but can I get some more input on it?

Okay, I know that sugars need to be restricted. So with carrots, is it better to eat them all by them selves, with other kinds of foods, or not at all? I'm not doing Atkins, I'm just trying to go low cal and smaller portions.

And what about fruit? I've had people tell me that you should eat it first thing in the morning and someone else say that you should eat it at night. And like the carrots, is it better to eat fruit by itself or with other foods?

I want to metabolize the best I can, and hopefully one of you lovely ladies can help me understand thte best way to handle natural sugars.

Thanks for the help!

Here's a good article about eating according to GI / GL, which is what you sound like you're trying to do. http://www.drweil.com/u/QA/QA326589/

Personally, I eat carrots, fruit, everything else whenever I want, alone or with other foods, and I've lost 157 pounds and my blood sugar is just fine. If your carbohydrates come from complex sources, then you're fine. Don't get all hinky about it, you'll drive yourself batty. Even insulin-dependent diabetics aren't advised to do this kind of food-combining micromanagement.
