I use pure protein, or the target brand, or the cheap one at walmart. It's not specifically for weight loss of course, just inexpensive, higher protein, lower calories. Personally I use it mainly when I'm weight training to get in extra protein, I mix it with water for super low cal, or with almond milk for flavor or with greek yogurt for a super protein punch. I've found the average price to be around $17-$20 for a 2 pound jug of the cheap stuff.

I second the Target brand (Market Pantry, I think?) but my absolute favorite is called About Time Whey Isolate. It's a tidge pricier (32.99 at netrition.com) but is only 103 calories vs 140, has no artificial sweeteners, and is better for the lactose intolerant.

I buy the Target whey vanilla, and put 3/4 of a scoop in protein shakes a couple times a week. I use it because I tend to be low in protein, so this augments my diet nicely.

I have to say avoid the gnc brand it was beyond sweet and the artificial sweet flavor. I tried vanilla and chocolate once, now the hubby drinks them. I am to scared to shell out more money for a new one now. Hope u find a good one for u.

pure protein body shaping formula. vanilla flavor. 15 grams protein, 7 grams carb, 2 grams fat

taste is ok. i use it in plain water for a quick easy protein boost, or in a smoothie with spinach, banana, greek yogurt and ice.

i also use it mixed in oatmeal and it mixes well in that. the kids love that.

I used to use Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard .... tastes really good. Lately I've been using Dymatize Whey Gourmet or their Elite XT though since it's a little cheaper, also tastes pretty good

Another vote for pure protein, but the chocolate is my favorite. If you want to try it before you shell out for it, trader joe's often stocks premixed cans of pure protein shakes. Then you can decide if you like the flavor enough to buy the big container of powder!
