  • Hello,

I am setting a new weight loss goal, 50 pounds by 12/31/2016. I have been up/down for the last year. I will keep going until goal. It is a great time in life to do this and start over on this journey. I live in TX near Houston. Look below:

    HW: 270 7/14/14
    LW: 179 7/20/15
    CW: 197 8/4/16
    GW: 147 12/31/2016

For me this will be hard. I am going to get it done. What is your goal for 12/31/2016? It will be the eve of a new year. In my life this is a fresh start to better health. Let us check in one day a week. My scale day is now Friday! Let us get this done. Be honest and steadfast. I have two teenagers, a husband and cat (13). I been fat for 16 years. No more, time to get my health back. We can do it. Each week place your status and a little about yourself. I will do the same.

  • Hi everybody,
I would like to join you, please.
Have been here before and kept falling off the wagon. I am more determined than ever to succeed this time!

    HW 250.5 July 2016
    LW: 170 / 175 in 2000
    CW: 243.2
    1st GW: 193.2 on December 31st 2016
Final GW: 170 or 165 by May 2017

My scale day will be Sunday. I am doing low carb with lots of veggies and lean meats. I use a fitbit and have 12,000 steps as a daily goal, I walk 5 miles a day on the weekends / 3 miles a day during the work week, and lift weights 3 times a week.
I am working hard on sticking to it though the scale doesn't move as I would like it to. On the positive side, my clothes fit better than last month and I feel better.

    Good luck everyone!
    We can do this!
I will check in each Sunday morning!
    Have a wonderful week!
  • I say "Welcome All!" We can get this done. I am learning take it "one bite at a time." I also have learned to love the gym. I had to stop due to some health issues. Next week I am cleared to return.

  • Hi everyone, I am going to change my check-in date to Fridays. My scale needed a new battery. When I changed it on 08/09/16 my weight went up like 1.5 pounds. Now it says 193.5. So, here we go! I have been on this new plan since 08/04/16.

    CW: 193.5 8/12/2016
    GW: 147 12/31/2016

This is a roller coaster. I am working on my health each day. We can do it! I love seeing your journey. My kids start H.S. in the next few weeks! I need a drink but I have given that up for 83 more days too! Boy oh boy. Have a great weekend!
  • Howdy everybody!

    SW 8/8: 243.2
    8/14: 239.4 ( minus 3.8 lbs)

1st GW: 193.2 on December 31st 2016 (truly anything under 200 would be a major success!!!)
Final GW: 170 or 165 by May 2017

    Have a great week!
I will keep at it no matter how slow or fast the scale is moving. I am in it until I reach my goal.
    Plan for this coming week:
12,000 steps a day to include at least 45 minutes of higher intensity (active minutes on fitbit)
    Low carb, lots of veggies.
NO MORE daily cheese! (maybe once a week instead)
Prep food for the week today so that my week is easier.

    Texaslittlelady1,
Smart choice giving up the booze until Christmas as well (lots of hidden calories and carbs)
I hope your HS kids have a great first day and year!

Karencat, I also work out at home. I prefer it to going to the gym. I have everything I need: treadmill, weights, BoFlex. I am working hard on staying motivated each day!

Best of luck and have a great week with positive results!
  • Envelop, wow you have your hands full with three children. Keep making sure you take care of yourself. When is your check-in day?

Karencat, I go to the gym due to it lets me see other people at so many different levels. I am such a people person. What day will you check-in?

Furturehealthyme, great job 3.8 pounds in one week! All I can say "wow."

We are all doing great. It is not just the scale. We are taking the time to say "I can work forward towards better health." Good job you all and have a great week!
  • Hi all,

This week sucked! I made a weight loss scrap book. I am filling it with pictures, a weight loss graph, food and activity log, weight loss chart and other fun things. It will help me get to goal. I am pushing forward.

    CW: 195 up (1.5 pounds)
    GW: 147 12-31-2016

I will not give up. However, I am very sad.

Today, is a new week! I hate stalls in my weight loss. I will get to my goal. The "fat chick" in me is dying. The "healthy chick" is emerging.

I have changed so much over the last 2 1/2 years. I am proud of that fact. There are somethings I can not control. However, I can control what and how much food goes into my body. Yes, we can do this one day/step at a time.

Everyone, have a great week. Keep it moving!!!
  • Happy Sunday, everybody!

    SW 8/8: 243.2
    8/14: 239.4 ( minus 3.8 lbs this week)
8/21: 234.3 (minus 5.1 for the week, minus 8.9 since starting on this thread, minus 16.2 since July)

1st GW: 193.2 on December 31st 2016 (truly anything under 200 would be a major success!!!)
Final GW: 170 or 165 by May 2017

I had a good week, exercised 5 out of 7 days. Ate low carb and only little cheese UNTIL yesterday when I overdid it with feta cheese and the scale showed it (yesterday total weight was less than this morning). I am happy with the results this week and know that it will slow down soon.
My plan is to increase total steps per day and total active minutes when the slowing down/plateauing start. Clothes fit better and I feel better since I started this July at 250.5. I know it's only the start and the weight loss is not major but I can feel the difference already from 250.5 to now.

    Plan for this coming week:
Prep foods for the week, measure and wrap 1 inch cubes of cheese and only allow myself 1 or 2 per day (better than huge amount eaten so far and more realistic than saying I can't have any).
Get 12,000 steps per day with 45 active minutes each day. That means I get on the treadmill after work. Improve from 5 days a week to 6 days a week.
Keep a positive mindset and think of all the benefits of weight loss.
Accept, understand, internally process that this will take time to achieve and that I will hit bumps in the road such as plateaus.

    Texaslittlelady1,
I am so sorry that you had a difficult week. On the positive note, you did't give up: you are right back up and at it again. We've all had those moments/days/weeks. Good for you accepting that it was just a passing moment and its' not defining your weight loss and health journey.
Great idea to make a scrapbook. It will surely help with the motivation. I look in my closet and see all the cute clothes I can't fit in. I can't wait to go "shopping" in my own closet and wear them again in the future.
Your ticker shows what a great job you have done so far and what a long way you've come.
You inspire me!!! I can't wait to be in onederland!!!
    Davisag,
    Welcome!
Glad to hear that you are also back on track. Great determination, good for you!
Whenever I had fallen off the wagon in the past (MANY times), the hardest thing for me was to restart and get into the right frame of mind. You are doing great!
You are right: we can do this!

    Have a great week.
I will check back in next Sunday for results and come back to read your posts before that.
    We can do it!
  • Futurehealthyme Great job!

Thanks for being so encouraging! I am learning so much about my 46 year old body. It fights so hard to stay fat. My mind and will are stronger. I can not afford to give up on this part of my journey. It is just taking longer than I expected. I hear my new doctor saying "you did not get fat overnight." However, my head still says "push harder and go faster." It is just a battle and the war is for life.

I am getting my kids ready for tomorrow. I do not even want a drink (cool). Anyway, everyone have a great week! We will get to goal one step at a time. Just keep moving!
  • Happy Friday!
I HATE slow weight-loss! At least the scale is going down. I am happy this week is almost over. My kids "kinda" like high school. Anyway, they are going. Lol! Have a great weekend. Stay safe.

    CW: 193

Keep it moving everyone. We can get this done.
