Hello-may I join you?

  • I'm 43 and have been overweight all my life-I've lost weight a few times but never got to goal and never kept it off.My most successful method has been cambridge so far but it's expensive and even the cheaper versions of it are too much for me,so I'm doing it the old fashioned way with calorie counting.I don't have any support in real life so need tons of it here.I NEED to do it this time-I'm sick and tired-literally-of being fat. It's affecting everything I do.It's affecting my sleep,my walking,my breathing,my looks,my blood pressure,my ability to play with the kids-my entire life.If anyone would like to add me on myfitnesspal my user name is the same as here.
  • Welcome! You'll find lots of support here! I think calorie counting can be very, very effective and once you have the counts for your favorite repeat meals it gets easier, too!
  • Hi, Pink! I'm also a calorie-counting veteran. Welcome aboard! Plenty of wonderful support here, no matter what. Just say what you need, be it tough love, a kick in the pants, a virtual hug, a cheerleader ... we do it all!
  • Welcome!!
  • Thanks all -I need all of the above at various times-especially when I feel like giving up-which is bound to happen at some point. And excitement when I lose weight And some interesting recipes I'm finding it OK at the moment-enjoying eating real food after so many tries at vlcd's.Think the break from junk food will do me good too-I'm a junk food addict. It'll do the kids good too-I've been giving them far too many sweets and being lazy with cooking.I'm feeling very determined right now.
