LINDA
I sent you a pm with a video link to learning proper squat form - I destroyed my quads/knees doing them wrong! |
Thanks 2FC! I'll go check it out right now!
|
We moved around our living room furniture, we had some fun looking at furniture over the weekend, like fantasy shopping, maybe pick something up after the income tax comes. So, it was pretty neat, maybe I'll post that in the NSVs to just say lets do it, rearrange the living room...
So, so many I want to respond to...don't have time, boo hoo, NewLeaf, love the head-->back in the game, Guac, always good to hear from you, Sum, best of luck with the trip and I agree with Zumba, if you can lose some of your bloat you'll be good, you're so far ahead of so many out there, don't feel bad about your couple extra, you're going to be great. SeeMyFeet, you always crack me up, thanks for the smiles and laughs, Congrats Linda on having a good day, that's always a good feeling, if you can get one in a row that's better than none! Moondance, thanks for the calendar perspective, my DH and brother's birthday are in August so there's always at least one barbecue and we have a labor day party, so that's Sept. and that kind of starts the holiday season....yeeps, so if I overdo every holiday I'm scr*wed...lol Had a good OP day today, got my 10K steps in at work, bonus, and did good on the intake, looking forward to some crustless turkey pot pie tomorrow night...yum best to all, will check in the a.m. :sunny: love this group :hugs: |
Geezy peezy, too freezy on the kneezy! Holy cow, I thought both legs would freeze stiff on the walk after work. Yikes! My word, January, go take another vacation! (err..How many religions of the world did I just insult?)
I'm breaking up with Dr. Atkins. It was good while it lasted. At least I have the memories. Better to have been carnivorous and lost than not to have lost at all. Today is day 21, and I did really well. Major cheats: a couple rounds of 0 carb liq donuts, and a few pistachios. Since I don't see much of a difference VLCarb vs VLCal, I prefer the VLcal method. Now I'm worried...if I go from 20--200 carbs a day, I know I'll have a major bloat. So I'll take a lot of advice from stage 2, stay away from VHC pasta, rice, bread, etc. But look out Apple, I'm comin' after ya soon........Oh No!!....now I have Annoying Orange's voice in my head---one of the joys of having boys.....AO is not nearly as bad as "Nugget in a Biscuit" or "Nyan Cat"....(if you haven't gone there yet, DON'T.) I stopped by the grocs and bought some bootstrap molasses. In a week or so, I should be able to spike my warm tea with some. Thought the vitBs and minerals would be good for me. But really, I just want to poop. My DS was ill and absent from school today. I think if he is well enough to interrupt my typing so he can compare his foot size with the size of my head, then he's well enough to go back to school tomorrow, don't you think?......sigh.....I live in a zoo....... Good luck with the squats, furniture moving, dress fittings, family travels, butt lifting, avoiding the Zombie Girl Scouts, and all that other running around you guys do! |
Froze my buns off this AM on my walk! The north wind was blowing right off all the snow. Even at 10:30-11:30 there was still frozen over puddles & frost on the rooftops. DANG!!! Welcome to sunny CA...riiiiight.
I just got in from work. UGH! Had to work late to get a project done. I wish my boss knew how to schedule! I hate getting off at 11:20 PM right before my day off. Whatever. I've got a job...be happy. Ate well. Drank plenty H2O. Now I'm just sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy. I've got a full day planned. #1 is getting H's insulin syringes! No ifs ands or buts we are not going to leave the drs office without the prescription! I may have to turn in the wicked B of the west to get it done, but I really hope not. It makes that knot in my neck really tight & my head hurt. Gotta run. Gotta get up early. So for all you great gals... :drill::drill: MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR TUESDAY! MAY ALL YOUR CHOICES BE HEALTHY & WISE. KEEP YOUR EYE ON YOUR GOALS WHATEVER THEY MAY BE. REMEMBER TO TELL YOURSELF, "I MAY BE 40-SOMETHING BUT I CAN STILL TAKE NAMES & KICK BUTT!!!! ;) :drill::drill: |
Good morning ladies, off to work I go. I could have slept in today for sure.
I can't remember who said about the reminders on their phone, I went really lowtech, I stuck a tiny post it note on my computer at work that just says 150 nobody but me knows what it means...whatever works, right?! good day all :sunny: |
@kellijpa - that's a really good idea! I think I'll do that, too! (post-it note)
@seemyfeet - good luck on switching over! I have no advice, but breaking up with Dr. Atkins, LOL! I went down 2.4 pounds overnight, and I knew I would have a bit of a downward dip because I did nothing but pee yesterday! Thank goodness. It was awful and scary to see a number I hadn't seen since the end of October! I'm still WAY too high for me, but I can do this! |

Okay well in my efforts to do more stupid things that don't work I am gonig for hypnosis tonight. My girlfriend found a groupon and made appts for both of us.....this should be interesting. I am gonig to try and take this seriously. I don't understand the process and how it works....but at this point it shouldn't hurt, unless the hypnosis goes haywire and I wind up eating more......
So glad that it got cold again, yesterday was a warm clammy day and my sinuses were not happy. I think January should act like January..the colder the better..kill off all the ticks , etc. On the other hand I'm so grateful that i'm not shoveling snow..I'm getting too old for that! want to wish everyone a good day..... |
OLEHCAT: that was a nice drop! You definitely were bloated big time ...it must feel good to get rid of all that. I can't wait to pee out all this bloat, I may take a diurex today.
KELIJ: good reminder with the post it note....whatever it takes......visualization is so important and I really think it helps. MRSTRYING: its a shame you have to fight for every little thing when ti comes to your H's medical stuff..get those syringes and do what you have to do to get them... |
Hi, all. Love all the posts.
kelijpa I can so relate to the haunting old spreadsheets and records. Ugh. But I can't toss them. I just try my hardest not to look when I stumble across them. I was down to 167.8 this morning, backing away from that scary 170.0. What a mind game this all is... I'm committed to stitching together 2 good days in a row. It is truly frightening to me how quickly the scale can move up. Yeah, water weight, bloat, whatever. But at some point, up becomes up, mental deflation sets in, and towels get thrown in. I do not want that for myself. Tip: find something really valuable to you that you can either do now or wear now, and do it or wear it like your life depends on it. For me, it's comfortably wearing my rings. I don't ever want my wedding and engagement rings to not slide on and off easily again. That had made me so sad... And being able to easily wear them again is meaningful to me. I'm sure everyone has something meaningful to them... |
Good Morning, woke up to sore calves this morning...fighting the urge to take a break. I think it would be better to get moving. I have been walking and biking and just a few extra added new moves from a 10 min. toning dvd really showed me how many muscles I haven't been using.
I stopped by the grocs and bought some bootstrap molasses. In a week or so, I should be able to spike my warm tea with some. Thought the vitBs and minerals would be good for me. But really, I just want to poop. You crack me up...I love starting my day with a good laugh..."thanks". |

What a great group here! Insightful and funny...fantastic combination!
Question for you all...I need suggestions on how to boost my energy levels. I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's (yes, I'm one of the few fat Chron's people...makes we wonder how big I would really be). One of the side-effects that I'm experiencing with my new meds is fatigue. I'm always soooo tired. Even 8 hrs isn't enough. Currently I'm taking so many meds that I'm not taking vitamins (who wants so swallow MORE pills?) but maybe that's what I need. I'm not very educated on vitamins, or any other energy boosting ideas, so I'm throwing it out to all of you. suzyslimdown: Great job with not giving in to the urge to take a break! newleaf123: I totally relate to the ring thing. Can't even wear my wedding ring right now and I refuse to spend the money to get it enlarged. Additionally, I have a dress that I want to wear and feel sexy in again. I'm too fat to feel sexy right now. Zumbachica: I'll be interested to hear what you think of hypnosis. I tried it for quitting smoking. Didn't help me, but I can see where it might help others. Are you going to transition out of Atkins too? olehcat: Power to the Pee! kelijpa: Sticky notes, skywriting, messages in code...whatever works to keep you on track! I LOVE rearranging furniture. When I was a kid, I used to rearrange my bedroom like every 6 months. It kills me now that there is only one way for the furniture to fit in my bedroom. The living room is another story... MrsTryingAgain: Sorry you had to work so late and that it's so cold. I didn't think the "Sunny CA" applied to the northern part, just So. Cal. But I've never been there, so that's just my perception. Only 2 months of winter left...Do what you need to do to get what your H needs. I hate that assertive women are called a B, but assertive men are called strong. Assertive doesn't mean aggressive, it means being persistent about getting what you want/need. Good luck! SeeMyFeet: I've done Atkins before and I think your approach is good. Good luck with the transition. "AO is not nearly as bad as "Nugget in a Biscuit" or "Nyan Cat"." I have no idea what this means, but it sounds funny... I would say your son is ready to be back in school. Bootstrap molasses...how is this different from regular molasses? 2FatCats: I didn't know there was such a wrong way to do squats that you would injure your knees so bad. Now I'm curious... LindaWW: Doesn't that drive you crazy? Same food & activity for days in a row, but some days you're hungry, others not, some days you're tired, others not. How on earth are we supposed to figure ourselves out? |
Moondance, ditto on the rings. I refused to get mine made bigger; it just seemed like I was succumbing to the weight if I did that... Good luck with the Crohn's. My teenage cousin has that... I know it's hard...
Went to REI today and bought a couple pairs of size 12 hiking pants on clearance for my trek in March. They are too snug. I am *hoping* that I can lose enough weight in 2 months so they fit nicely... But I did check the return policy just in case... I remember someone else once posting, maybe on the main board, about how the brands at places like REI tend to not be vanity sized. Seems to be the case, with what I tried on. |
