Hi Everyone! I am on track for the second day in a row and I went swimming! I know it's only 2 days but hey, everyone has a starting point, right?
Penguin - i LOVE hand bags/purses!! Congrats on the purchase! and hooray for the eyes. I bet you burned a ton of calories cleaning the home. |
Aug 8
B= 2 c milk vits L= 1/2 RR cheeseburger S= 1 multi grain pancake with syrup D= salad, 1/2 turkey sand S= cereal E= cleaning/dusting? Real Me, good job being consistant for two days. Better than I'm doing right now! |
Happy Tuesday everyone!

Quick not from here. Busy day at work today. We had storms last night, but we just got the edge of it and not really any rain to speak of. BUT, it has brought cooler temps and is sitting at 73 degrees right now!!:carrot: High is supposed to still be 100 for the next couple of days.
Food was terrible for the entire weekend and was good up until ice cream last night....ugh. I was up during the night and didn't sleep well, so skipped exercise this morning. I am comitting to a 5 miler in the morning!! Supper this evening should be reasonable, I just need to stay away from the chips. I'm making smoked sausage and pepper sandwiches w/ turkey sausage and homemade tomato sauce. I have another foundation company coming tomorrow. I am going to pursue just getting the area fixed where I think there is the worst problem (crack appeared suddenly in son's bedroom wall) and see if it would be safe to wait on the other. |
Really??? kay so back on plan and what does someone bring in today, leftover cake with mega icing from their kids bday, this would usually derail me as I love cake with my icing but am going to stick with it and not give in. I was happily going along last week and someone brought in still warm cookies from subway -- i ate 4 of them then got derailed for the rest of the day. so today no cake! Besided i got hubby's illness and cant really taste anything due to being stuffed up.
Not sure how much i can check in this week as many staff on holidays and have work backed up for over a week. Real Me - yes two days is amazing and any walking is great! PP - love your purse, a purse in on my list for my trip in Sept to the U.S. so you just got me more excited yay! I love where you find places to knit! What a great idea while waiting in the dr's office. Annie hope the foundation fix goes well! Way to go on day 6 - i have th esame question what makes me eat 4 yummy cookies one day and the cake not bother me today? Go figure - onward we go! |
I couldn't get PP's purse to come up on my browser but I'll all over awesome purses. I've been buying "that perfect" bag all year (black one, blue one, brown one, large one, small one...). I'm trying to get back to knitting. Awesome idea to have half purse/half knitting.
I tried veggie shreds by Galaxy Nutritional Foods--vegetarian cheese. I got the Parmesan, Mozzarella & Romano blend. It behaved like a cheese on my salad. I didn't quite like the flavor but then I thought it was cheddar. So, I do think it takes just like a Parmesan, Mozzarella & Romano blend. Now want to try the cheddar. I've also been eating vegetarian "meatless" faux-chicken cutlets and vegetarian bufflo wings. All really really good. Got two hours biking in and now it's pouring rain. Nice to get lots of exercise outdoors and get a rain day out of the way, too. |

So, this is my third day and I am so enjoying 3FatChicks and the feedback on here! I look forward to chatting with you all!
Right now I am dying to go downstairs but I know the magnetic pull of the fridge will be very strong so I will stay up here with my daughter and my laptop and good book!:) I did good with food, stayed in my calorie limit and got in an hour of walking. Annie - you mentioned a 5 miler - are you a runner? I would love to run. Everyone looks free and happy and in shape. Did you follow a course/program? just curious. :running: Penguin - yummmm a pancake as a snack? any specific brand? iaradajnos - 2 hours of bike riding??? You guys are inspirational! :bike2: Hope I'm not babbling too much! :D Have a good Wednesday everyone. |
Thanks, PP, for the knitting site. I just signed up and waiting to finish loggin in. Can't wait. I'm learning banjo, going to start knitting, and finding weekend getaways in New England. Trying to find new hobbies now that the kids are too big to let me go with them on play dates.

Hello Everyone - Doing ok here. Sticking to low carb plan , although I think I need to adjust my portions a bit. Still, haven't had any real cravings. Went to dinner with the family and only was able to eat 1/4 of my burger without any bun. It is really amazing how the hunger goes once you cut out the carbs. I have been under a lot of pressure this week (moving house, settlement Thursday, buyer keeps raising issues) but have avoided stress eating for the most part. Yes I could do better, and haven't really done much exercise, but I'm pleased with myself for sticking with this. Not sure if I have lost loads of weight - was still at 203 this morning, but I'll just stick with it.
|
RealMe-No, I don't run, I do the Leslie Sansone Walk At Home or Walk Away The Pounds DVDS. I can't do high impact anything because of knee issues. But I try to do between 3 and 5 miles daily during the week, sometimes I only have time for 2 miles. It's a chore to get up some mornings, but I love the way it makes me feel.
|
Going to lunch with Mom and Dad today. Randomly cleaning things and laundry for the rest of the day, with knitting intervals. Possibly a Firm in there too!
RealMe, We went to Cracker Barrel for dinner on Sun and I had the Whole grain + Granola pancakes. Very good! I only ate two so brought the last one home. |
Quick fly by today, had a great day yesterday, cake is still in the office lunchroom but now looks real gross, and i like cake in the fridge anyways.
Hope everyone has a great day! |
Quick update....still have not weighed myself for the past 2 1/2 weeks. However, I have been feeling like my clothing continues to get a bit looser.
Soo....I went to a store to "play" and was surprised to find a 16W Jones of New York little black dress. Normally, I don't see that size in a standard store, so naturally, I rushed to try it on. It was big on me! Like, too big to consider buying, big! I went back to the racks and tried 3 different size 16s from three different designers and they all fit! A few weeks ago, I could zip and button, but 16 looked way too tight. Today it fit perfectly! It seems kind of pathetic to be happy about being a true size 16, but at least I have more options now! There were at least 20 dresses in a size 16. Unfortunately, I didn't like any of them, but at least I can go to other stores and shop in the regular sizes now! :carrot: ETA - I just weighed myself and am down 2 lbs. Not sure why 2 lbs would make a difference between sizes, but, I'll take it! Still haven't reached my 179lb goal by 8/15, but I am 2 lbs closer! |
Guac - AWESOME!!! :carrot::bravo::cp::cb::congrat:
You have to be feeling just on top of the world being securely in a new dress size!! very good, no GREAT, news! Annie - I've heard about those DVDs. Might be something I should look into because one of these days old man winter is gonna come blowing through. (Last February he literally blew in the window in my sewing room! Right out of the frame! Scared the bejeeeezus out of me!) Annie - eeeeew, melty room temp cake.... who needs that! Haggis - :bravo: for not stress eating cuz it sure seems like you've got some pressure to deal with! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're closing goes smoothly. As for me, I didn't go over my calories but did indulge in sugar free rock star energy drink. And I didn't exercise. Tomorrow is another day. And someday I'll get to Onederland! |
Hi folks. I biked 120 minutes (drop off/pick up kids at camp; doctor's appointment across town) and ate at Subway twice! I'm over my calories by 15% but am in a large deficit with cals because of biking. I am trying to avoid days like this because I seem to plateau. I'm trying to eat frequently throughout the day and not over exercise. So, I think today's not a success for that goal. I'll fear the scale on Sunday. Last Sunday was TOM. Clothes are all fitting loser but measurements are not budging much. Body looks thinner. Getting lots of comments of "hello skinny minny" and such like. We'll see.
|
Hey all!
Guac-That's awesome news on the new size!!! Congrats! Ashley-You've done well avoiding that cake. My willpower hasn't been the best lately. I think alot of it is stress. Your trip is coming up fast now! Sounds like you deserve the break. PP-Hope your day with your parents was fun! Where did you eat? Realme-Good job staying within your calorie range. Iara-Wow, lots of exercise for you! That's great! Don't you just love hearing the skinny minny comments?:) I got a haircut/eyebrows after work today. Hairdresser's husband is a plumber, so I am going to call him tomorrow morning. He gives free estimates, so if he can come tomorrow or Friday, I will cancel the one I have coming on Friday afternoon ($89 service fee just to come out). I have got to get this plumbing issue resolved. It did it again today when I got home. Disgusting. I had leftover turkey smoked sausage I had sauteed with green/red peppers. We had sandwiches with it last night, but I just ate it as is for supper tonight with some fruit salad. Was doing great until I dug out the OLD ice cream in the freezer and had about 3/4 pint of chocolate. I didn't get in all 5 miles of my DVD this morning, but did do 4 miles. We got some rain overnight and it was so pleasant today and this evening. It is only 88 degrees here at 8:40 p.m. which is much cooler than it has been. I just killed the hugest &($#()@ spider I've ever seen in a house! I swear it's eyes were glittering at me!!:o GAHHHHH! I'm going to try to get to bed early tonight. Need to get some cleaning done tomorrow evening and I'm just tired tonight. |
Hi all!
Still walking everyday & eating healthy, but last night I baked for my daughter. She wanted cookies, made her Snickerdoodles. I was eating them while I was baking them, must have had 20 of them. Then made a pudding cake for hubby, ate 3 pieces. First time I ate any sweets in 10 days, just wasn't hungry for it. I blew it last night, already gained weight. Ate no sweets today, but was extra hungry cause I did yard work. So I went over my calorie limit eating good food. |
Aug 10
B= 2 c milk vits L= chicken, pasta, veggies with vodka/tom sauce {really good!] D= salad, PBJ S= peanuts + choc chips S= apple. E= 45 min cardio weights Guac, great job on the weightloss AND the new size! RealMe, sewing room??? I'm interested! What kinds of things do you make. I quilted for years but lost interest over the past year. I'm knitting more now, but I did break out the machine {for the first time in over a year} {long story} today and do some mending as well as make a case to keep some knitting needles in. Leslie has some good compilation DVD's of her older workouts at Target/Walmart. Iaranda, strange that your clothes fit better but no change in measurements. Weightloss can be so frusterating! Annie, we ate at a Italian place called Old Venice {not sure if its a chain or not}. I've been interested in vodka sauce since I saw a jar in the store but Hubby has issues with vodka. When he joined the Navy his buddies had a party and they got REALLY drunk on vodka so he won't touch the stuff, even in pasta sauce! But I tried it at the resturant and it was good but a tad spicy for me, I gave Hubby the leftovers and he liked it I read that Leslie is coming out with a 5 Fast Miles DVD in the autumn which will be avaliable at Walmart. FL, baking gets me every time too! Good job on the yardwork and eating good food today. |
Hi everyone,
Guac 0 congrats on the 2 lbs and the dress what a awesome feeling. Annie - gross I hate spiders, hope the plumbing goes well tonight. FL - way to go on not eating sweets for 10 days. Doing well, just ate a 3/4 of a peice of whole grain toast with lower fat pb and less sugar jam, boy it was good and under 180 calories. Walked this morning and cold is feeling better. My body feels amazing after detoxing and on day 4 of no binging. Day three is always so hard and I feel so drained so I often give in thinking I am hungry but I really am not. Hope to keep moving forward. |
AnnieDrews - A new haircut and great eyebrows can be a big pick-me-up! Plumbing issues are the worst...if I had to do it again, I think I would become a plumber. The work is gross, but those guys are in demand and make good money!
fruitlady I totally lose it when I am baking for others. My poor kids don't get any home baked goods except for holidays because I can't stop eating what I make! patchworkpenguin I've got to start logging my food like you do. Maybe when the kids start school again. Ashley777 Good work on the detox! You are showing real will power. You are doing great! Now for a quick update on me. Went shopping for a reunion event coming up this weekend. I had been dreading it...ugh!! However, I found a fantastic dress (in a not so fantastic 16 - but still it was in a regular sized store! :)) and matching shoes. When I got home, I tried the ensemble on for my hubby. His eyes popped out of his head! :carrot: Now, I suppose I should be offended, but he showered me with compliments (he actually said that he could see my waistline again - grrrr!). He told me I was gorgeous, sexy, and that this was the first time in years he actually was genuinely gushing over my appearance. Then he said he was scared that he had better lose weight fast to catch up with me! Anyway, yes, all that gushing meant I really looked like crap before...but....the smile on his face and the look in his eyes did tell me that I am looking better and am on the right track! :carrot: So...I feel better about going to the reunion now! |
Hello,
I am new here. Just started today. I am 40 something and so tired of being fat. I look forward to the comaraderie on this journey. |
120someday - we are at the same weight. See all my dancing carrots at finally making it to this weight? :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:
So....if you look at it from a different angle, you are just around the corner to being fit not fat! Keep reading and posting....this is a great support network! |
Guac - You should feel proud and confident at your reunion this weekend! You certainly are right on track. I hope you'll let us know how the event goes and have fun!
120 - :welcome:! I think you'll find good support on here and inspirational stories and successes too. I am just beginning, again, and need support as well! and I'm 40-something just like you. Take everything one day at a time! Annie - I bet you feel like a new woman! eeeeeeeeeeew! spiders!! :( Penguin - sewing room = I do chair cushions, costumes for community theater (kid theater, 100-120 cast members and high schools), curtains, table runners.... almost anything. love my serger!! i can't knit to save my life though and believe me when I tell you, i have tried! |
Ashley- thanks, your doing wonderful!
patch- thanks! guac- yeah, I used to just bake around the holidays. But I love to bake, so when my daughter asks me to do it, I can't turn her down. LOL Annie- hope everything works out for you. We walked 42min, the weather was beautiful. Did real good with calories, maybe that will help me shed this water weight. Was cooking all night to get some pre made meals in the fridge, I'm pooped! |
Aug. 11
Fruit: Ugh, that is one thing I have to curb. I nibble while I cook too. But good job maintaining your healthy lifestyle in general! guac: Clothes don't lie. Congratulations! :) RealMe: Day by day. Looks like you and I are twins as we are at the same weight and have the same goal! *hugs iara: Wow, 120 min. That's a nice ride! Enjoy your comments. :) Annie: Nice 'me' time. Good luck with your plumbing issue! Ashley: Sending supportive vibes ------> My day: I didn't get the exercise in that I wanted today. I am going away to a conference and am having visitors for 2 wks immediately upon my return. So, I spent the day preparing tax returns and sewing a faux leather slipcover for my rocking chair. However, on the food front I did well my first day on my IF woe. It felt great to be on a known schedule and I didn't even feel like eating until 7pm! Such a natural woe for me - nice to go with my body instead of against it. Tomorrow I want to get a 5 mi walk in. I miss it and really need it. Plantar Facialitis has had me in its grip, but I'm much better now and dancing too. B: Coffee L: Water D: (Eating window 6p-10p) Homemade Chunky Gazpacho x2 = 93 Tomato juice x2 = 83 Homemade oven Tandoori chicken (America's Test Kitchen, wow) = 200 Basmati rice = 106 Ice cream = 407 Total = 998 (259 under, but factoring in the fat for the ice cream, I'm not going to quibble) |
Aug 11
B= 2 cups milk, vits L= opps~ got busy online and skipped it D= meatloaf, rosemary cheese potatoes, steamed broc S= peanuts and choc chips E= none but I did re-arrange my yarn stash, taking pictures and posting them online! I was really hungry at dinner and kept nibbling at the potatoes, then polished off the rest of the broc as I was putting everything away. I didn't realize I had skipped lunch until after dinner. Someday, welcome glad to have you join us. Archy, glad to have you back Guac, axcept the compliments and try not to think to hard about it. I'm sure Hubby didn't mean anything but good by his comments. RealMe, when I found out sergers have two needles I got scared off, LOL. I have a nice sewing machine, with quilting stitches/free motion etc but that's as fancy as I get! annie, hope no repeat of the spider incident. they should be afraid of you now! |
archy- thanks!
Didn't walk too long today, only 25min. I really had no time, but I had to do squeeze it in somewhere. Did good with eating, now if I don't bake all weekend, I'll do fine. |
Aug 12
B: Coffee L: Water D: Gazpacho = 93 Cucumber = 34 Homemade beef fajitas with peppers & spinach x2 = 758 White rice 1/2 C = 103 Total: 987 E: 1/2 Hour Bellydance practice It was a very stressful day, and yet I didn't have the pangs to stress eat. I feel very balanced and in control. But again I am under calories. Even though I didn't work out much today, I know that I need to consume more calories that that. Maybe I can sneak in another bowl of Gazpacho before the night's end. I am down a pound though! I hope everyone had a good day today! Patch: Thanks, it's great to be back! :) Fruit: Sending 'control' vibes in case you need to bake this weekend! --------> |
Aug 12
B= 2 c milk, vits L= peach, salad, biscuit w jelly D= homemade pizza S= choc ice cream E= 40min cardio/weights |
Happy Saturday all! Tomorrow will be my first weigh in. I had a baaaaad food night last night (wine and food  ) so I am super nervous about tomorrow. What if the scale goes in the wrong direction? I'll be devastated! I'm heading to the gym later today.
Do any of you guys have a favorite Multi vitamin, brand or other daily vitamins? I am thinking I should incorporate some. Archy - we can do this!!! belly dancing? you go girl! Penguin - good food choices! Fruit - hope you had fun baking and got in some walks Annie - hope things are going well. sending positive vibes! |
Hello All!
Jumping in to this group to hopefully find a good support system for my weightloss efforts. I was an active member of 30-somethings about 11-12 years ago when I lost weight on WW. I got to goal and kept it off for a couple of years, but got married and got 2 kids, and well you know how it goes. Now it's all back and then some. I quit smoking a few weeks ago and realized I was gaining even more as a result, so it's finally way past time to get my @ss back in gear. This time I'm just counting calories. I'm using Sparkpeople for tracking, but I don't much care for the way their support forums work, it's too hard to find anything. So I thought I would try 3FC again since it worked so well last time. So far I've been tracking calories for a little over a week and I lost 3# in my first week, which was a nice motivator. Need to get back on the exercise wagon, but I have some back issues at the moment that limit what I can do, so just trying to fit little things in at the moment to be a little more active. Looking forward to getting to know you all and supporting you as well! LE |
B: Coffee
L: Water D: Tortilla= 240 Rice= 106 Tofu = 100 Salsa = 5 Sour cream = 120 Total: 571 E: 1.5 hr bellydancing class NSV: Still not nibbling while cooking and not eating beyond my dinner! I just don't feel like it! :D RealMe: Don't let the scale dictate your success. If it goes into the wrong direction, just turn it around. This is a lifestyle change, not a punishment. Yes, I've been bellydancing for over a year now and I perform with my class. I do not let my weight inhibit what I want to do since doing so would lead to inactivity! My goal is to join the advanced performance group next year (and buy a sword to dance with!) Sending happy vibes your way ---------------> Legal: Welcome! I really enjoy using Fitday for tracking. Is there a tracker here too? Looking forward to getting to know you too! :) |
Aug 13
b= 2 c milk, vits, pamprin, and leftovercheese potatos S= cheese and triscuits L= Pei Wei 1/2 Teryaki bowl {chicken brown rice veggies} Ice cream {later} D= 2 slices bread "pizzas' {sauce, cheese, meatballs} S= ice cream E= none Every once in a while I get REALLY bad symptoms of PMS when I ovulate. Yesterday and today were bad. I had a fuse about 1/4" long. I kept dropping things, snapping at poor Hubby and even April. Pamprin did help a little but the choc ice cream worked better. Grr! In better news, April's leg is doing much better, she's hardly limping at all anymore. Crate rest is helping a lot, but she's getting pretty sick of being in here and when she gets to go outside {leashed} she's practically hyper. Eagle, welcome glad to have you join us? We're you and I in another group together for a while? Archy, wow on the sword dancing. I've seen preformances on Bhuz and Youtube, good luck. |
Yipee!!! Down 5 pounds this morning! Happy dance!!
I had a decent work out yesterday and did ok with my calories though I was under by a bit, I just wasn't hungry! Day 8 starts today for me and I feel good about this life style. yay. Penguin - poor April. Glad to know she is doing better though. Give her a pet from us! Legal - :welcome3: This isn't my first trip to 3FC but I think this time it is going to work (or rather this time I am going to work!). Congrats on quitting smoking! What a big step to becoming a healthier you! Archy - Awesome! :belly: I've never seen the dancing with a sword. I'll have to check that out!! ooooooooo, I bet you have pretty costumes!! |
I did NOT do the healthiest eating yesterday, but I DID track everything, and I DID actually stay within my calorie goals. So not a complete loss. However, popcorn at the movie theater (without butter of course) does not a healthy dinner make! Aiming to do better today!
Really need to get outside and finish trimming the azaleas that should have been trimmed well before now, but it's been so damn hot. It's overcast and dreary out there now though & I don't feel like it. :) Archy - I'm not sure if there's a tracker here or not. I played with Fitday a little yesterday, but I've got so many foods stored on Sparkpeople now I just don't feel like starting over! LOL Patch - Your username sounds familiar too, but I can't place where. I was on 3FC regularly back in 1999-2000 or so in the 30-somethings group. There are several other forums I frequent that aren't weightloss related... Frugal Families is the only one where I might really be known though. Real - I've made it a little over a month and a half without a cigarette so far. Hoping it sticks this time. I've quit for as long as 3 months before and started back. I started smoking when I was 16 years old, so it's been a long time. |
Hi folks. Glad to see new and returning peeps. I appreciate the different paths everyone is taking. I'm still plateauing. For now, I'll have to go on a maintenance plan with occassional low cal days because I'm off for vacation--the annual trip to Minnesota. I did great two years ago after I'd lost lots of weight. Last year, I seem to recall maintenance then slowly settling in to weight loss after that. This year I'm going to try different kinds of exercise and try to splurge on healthy foods a lot. We have to keep spending down which really helps on the calorie counting.
|
I made it through the weekend without sweets, yay! I was cooking alot, but I didn't bake anything sweet. I'm happy!
|
Nothing exciting to report so far today. CBS Bible study starts next week and we leaders have our 'workshop' class this Wed to help us get back in the swing of things. I was called and asked if I would mind being a substitute leader this year, which I thought sounded wonderful. I get to be a social butterfly; I'll be part of a regular group, but will be asked to lead other classes as leaders go out of town or get sick. So I'll get to visit other classes and not have the responsibility of leading my own class each week.
Eagle, wasn't the 30's group, but good to see you again anyway. RealMe, good job on the 5 lbs. FL, sounds like a good weekend! |
Eating was better yesterday, although still not fantastic. Again, calories not a problem, just what kind of calories I'm eating! Still working on it.
It's Monday and I don't want to be at work, but here I am. iaradajnos - have a great trip! FL - great job. not a goal I will ever set, because I know I couldn't do it! LOL Patch - Had a thought based on your name, are you on Ravelry? I spend a lot of time there, although I don't post all that much. |
