4th Time's the Charm?

  • Hello all! This is my 4th time in the past few years to give a good shot at weight loss, and to use this web site as a support group. It's been a frustrating battle, to say the least, as I'm sure many of you will understand. I do really well for a while, and then I hit a wall or get knocked back down. And well, here I am again. I'm really trying to make this a lifestyle change, not just a diet. I know what I need to do, and how to do it. Lord knows I've read enough weightloss books and exercise plans. I just need to really try to not let life get me down. Your support will help, too. Anyway, thanks for reading.

    You are so right that this process really needs to be a lifestyle change rather than just a diet. I think a lot of us are hard-headed and just don't get the idea the first ... or even the 10th time around! I know I have been on countless diets as well.
    You mentioned that you need to try to not let life get me down. That is so true. Losing weight is so hard that I think we have to just get bigger than life's problems and refuse to let things cause us to fail again. We have to be our own cheerleader, best friend, and confidante. Of course, it helps to have lots of buddies on 3FC to help us out!

  • Hi IDBigbird, I love this place and find that the closer I stay to fitday and 3fc, the better I feel. Sort of like a crutch to lean on when I need it.

  • I think that this community forum is a great way to stay accountable. In the past I had gone to WW meetings and I just really didn't like going to the meetings and paying someone to weigh me and tell me what I already knew. Watch what I eat, cut down on fat and exercise. It's not rocket science. But I do need to be accountable and this forum seems to be helpful for me.
