WEEK OF APRIL 12th CHAT
Good morning everyone! Happy to start off a new week! Hope everyone has a terrific Monday! It's going to be a beautiful day here, temps in the high 70's!
|
Good morning. I weighed myself this morning, and it's not as bad as I feared. Time to get serious and get back on the plan.
I hope everyone had a great weekend, and that this will be a good week. |
drive-by post. getting ready to head to san antonio, doing the alamo and the riverwalk w/ mom n dad. beautiful weather, sunny and warm. staying on track w/ my food n exercise so far. not worrying about the scale until I go home, though I believe I had dropped a pound before I left charleston.
|
Kitteh - Glad it's not as bad as feared. WTG for getting back with the program!
OMW - Sounds like a beautiful day there. WLW - Enjoy your day. Would like to be there! I've been to Galveston but not San Antonio. Always wanted to see the Alamo Koala - Yes, Penrith is a Sydney "suburb" so to speak. I thought Canberra was on the other side of Australia. My Australian geography is not what it should be.:D Still fighting the fatigue. Hope this gets fixed soon. It's quite irritating. Just found out that another friend of mine has breast cancer. That's 3 this year and it's just April. I really really hate that disease. So I'm not my usually postive, happy self today. I really want to go home and hide under the covers. |
Hi guys! Wow, busy day here, no time for anything but a drive-by. Had an enjoyable weekend. Did okay with my food/exercise. TOM is all off schedule and came this morning, bleh.
Petra-Wanted to note that I tried the Tandoori Chicken recipe and it was delish! I went a bit further and tried to get a complimentary flavor in rice, but the boys didn't like it. I did white rice, chicken broth, curry powder, cinammon, blanched sliced almonds and golden raisins. They don't like raisins so they each only ate one bite. I liked it, though. Have to get back at it here.....Have a good one ladies! |
kitteh—ah, a gift when the scale isn't as high as you think it's going to be. Congrats!
Kathi—great job staying active and eating well while on vacation. Vacations always do me in! I joined this forum AFTER my vacation! Keep up the good work and have fun. Kim—so sorry to hear about your friend with breast cancer. I'm sure it is really hard for you to hear, and 3 in 4 months is frightening. I hope your day gets better, and that her treatment is as easy as possible. :( AnnieDrews—I think that rice sounds fantastic! Email me the leftovers! Yesterday was a decent day for me: water—yes; eat well—mostly; vitamins—yes; exercise—yes. I will continue with the same goals for another week: exercise for 30 minutes 6 out of 7 days, eat well, drink at least 40 oz of water, and take my vitamins. Each day I will post how I did the previous day. There have been many times I have remembered to take my vitamins, or not eaten something, or gone for a walk just because I knew I wanted to post a successful day. Thanks for the support! Sue |
Just wanted to stress that my boys DID like the chicken, but didn't like the rice...so half a victory!
|
OMW-Howdy howdy and it sounds like a pretty day there. It's in the 50's here right now, not too bad.
WLW-Hope you arrive safely and have a wonderful trip. Wizzie-So sorry for you and your friend. I wil keep you in my thoughts and well wishes. I can understand wanting to hide under the covers. Annie & Petra-I made the tandoori chicken too. YUMMERS! For a side, I simmered some dried ancho chiles, then puree'd them, added some shredded zucchini, chopped jarred garlic chinese 5-spice, and cous cous and we liked it. Wanted to do the bulgur and chickepeas, but couldn;t make it fit into plan for the day. I don't like raisins either, so I sustitute craisins for them in recipes. Until now..since Buster ate the sack that fell off the top of hte fridge the other week. slroth-sounds like you are doing well and staying on plan and you'll be seeing results. We are still doing stuff in the yard. Well, Robert is. I am trying to get the house ready for tourist season. We store a bunch of craft stuff in the guest rooms during the off season, then have to get it all sorted and moved, do wall painting touchup and clean out the windowsills, etc. The deep cleaning/spring cleaning stuff. I've not been exercising the last ocuple of days, but getting a good bit of activity just doing the chores. It will have to be enough for now. Once the chores are finished, I dont' have the energy to do anything much else. Hope everyone has a good week. Barb |
Hi everyone,
Dropping in to let you know I completed my half marathon yesterday. I'm "feeling it today" and dear goodness there were some major hills to contend with, but I got it done. Will stop back tomorrow for a more regular post. |
woo-hoo, way to go deb!!!
|
Deb—Congratulations! That's amazing. I hope you are incredibly proud of yourself.
Yesterday: Water—yes; food—not so great; exercise—yes; vitamins—yes. Bad food day...still better than before I was posting here, but I hate that out of control feeling. I brushed my teeth early and put an end to it, but I wasn't particularly happy with myself. I was happy that I didn't let it turn into something worse. And today's a new day. |
Morning Girls,
Hoping to get a hot stone massage today - my legs will thank me! OH MY GOSH the hills were crazy. They slowed me down, but didn't stop me....even when I wanted to stop, I kept going. It's teaching me that I can finish things I've started...no matter how hard it is, no matter how long it takes, just take one more step - one in front of the other and you'll get there. (sound familiar? weight loss) I'm signing up for one more local half marathon in May - trying to accomplish 3 in a 90 day period. My next won't be until October - and I'm ready for a big break from longer endurance runs. This May one will challenge me in that the course time limit is shorter than I'd like, but I'm going to push and try to do it anyway. It's a flat course, so I'm hoping with that - it will give me a good chance to get it done. I can do the time I need early on...it's maintaining it when you tire, that's the trick for me! Time will tell...but I decided to at least try it. Weight wise, I'm up right now, but my muscles are holding water like crazy (think swelling, etc, trying to hold water after so much work)...so I'll get a better read next week. I go to the doc today - official weigh in, but after my March half marathon, same thing happened - up on water, then next week down a bunch)...not focused on weight right now, just healing a body that was strong for me when I asked it to be. I now know that finishing that first half marathon wasn't just a FLUKE and I deserved it. Silly, I know...but I needed to know for myself, that yes, I am truly an endurance athlete - and it wasn't "just a lucky day"...I worked hard, I trained and I did it. I feel good inside...nice quiet satisfaction. Feels nice. |
Deb, Not a fluke by any means! You set a goal, you achieved it, even stuck it out through injuries. You are one determined chick! I'm so glad you're giving yourself the credit you deserve, why is it we are sometimes so much harder on ourselves than others? Enjoy your massage!
slrot, Today is a new day! That's the right attitude. We all have moments when we go off plan, it's what we do right after that matters, do we get back on track or continue down the wrong path? Hope today is a better day for you! angelskeep, I think housework counts as exercise! Owning a B&B sounds like such fun. I bet you meet some interesting people! Annie, I can sympathize with TOM being out of whack! My periods have been rather messed up lately. I'm scheduled for the Novasure procedure in early May. Good bye periods! Wizzie, Hope you are feeling better today! Sorry about your friend. I have several friends that have had breast cancer. Sure hope they were able to find it early. WLW, Enjoy your travels! Sounds like you are getting in plenty of walking! Kitteh, Glad the scale was not too mean to you! Time to get back to work! My scale was down 1 1/2 this morning. You may have heard my squeals of delight! Stayed home from work today because I have a horrible cold. Promised DH I would get our taxes finished today. UGH! Hope everyone has a great day! |
Hi everybody! It is a beautiful spring day here. Love this time of year so much. Wish my mood would even out. One minute I'm happy and smiling, the next....not so much. Got a lot of things in the back of my mind that I'm trying not to let worry me too much, but they keep cropping up. What will be, will be. Amen.
Let me start by saying to Deb: http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...appyDC/wtg.jpg You are such an inspiration and I am so glad you are meeting your goals. Just amazing!! Kitteh-Good for you for getting back on plan! Good reason to weigh consistently and be able to recognize when trouble arises. WLW-Sounds like a great time to visit San Antone. I've wanted to go, but never have worked it in. Summer is SO hot there. Have fun! Wizzie-So sorry to hear about your friend. Reminds me that I really need to schedule a mammogram. Sue-I think your plan sounds like a good one. Increasing my water has really helped me. I drink between 70 and 100 oz. a day.:dizzy: Angel's-Sounds like fun, but hard, work to keep the B&B going. I'm interested to see your posts as the season starts up. Good luck! OMW-Woot! on the 1.5 pounds! Hope your cold gets better and those taxes get done! Anyone heard from Marie or CAT?? Hope they are just too busy or having too much fun to check in. I know I missed others, too. I'm glad you're all here.:) I hope you all have a wonderful day! |
Congratulations Deb! You deserve that massage!
Glad the Tandoori chicken was a hit for those who tried it. There has been more drama with my friend's return from maternity leave than I would have liked. My boss sometimes tries too hard to make everyone happy rather than just making decisions and letting the chips fall. In this case, not everyone is going to be happy no matter what she does. Went out to eat last night which did not do well for my calorie budget but that's done. I'm supposed to go out again tonight to an educational event. No drug reps involved. I don't go if there are. We'll see how the day goes. I'm running late today so I better get my act together and get out the door. |
Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
OMW - Everything's just BETTER when the sun is shining, isn't it? I see that ticker of yours slidin' to the right again, and it sounds like you are very much in the groove! How long til beachtime? Novasure sounds like a godsend - you'll be the 4th 40-something I know who's done it (the 3 others are wildly enthusiastic). Kitteh - let's MAKE it a good week! kathi - keep fighting the good fight - and have a terrific trip! kim - sorry you've got some stressors. Hiding under the covers is a better option than hiding in the refrigerator, at least. Breast cancer is definitely a scary one, but it sure seems like more and more successes are happening! Annie - hiya! Sue - keep up the great work! One of the chicks on another thread has the signature "It's not about perfection - it's about persistence!" I think she's right on, and you are certainly living it! Barb - methinks cleaning counts as a serious workout. I bet you're tired! Deb - Way to go with the half! Awesome! A flat course does make a huge difference, I remember from my running years. I think you'll be really amazed at how much easier it will seem. Cat? Marie? Helloooo? ;) Hydra - welcome back! Missed you! Here, I'm eating more like a maintainer than somebody with a few left to lose. This next month, though, is all about food as fuel while I do the final push to get ready for Atlanta. Mucho yardage. Ow. :) |
Well the drama at work boiled over today. I got a phone call today saying that if I don't do something about my delinquent paperwork by friday I'm going to be suspended. They are done with the threats. That will make people jump.
I skipped the educational event. Got home kind of late tonight anyway because I stayed a little late to do.......paperwork. But keeps my calories in line for the day and I'm going to try to do some Wii tonight too. |
OnMyWay—congrats on the weight loss! You're getting close to ½ way there.
AnnieDrews—I hope things settle down in your life so your mood evens and things are easier. I tend to let those things get to me when I should be sleeping. I hope your stuff isn't getting in the way of a good night's sleep...I find that makes things spiral out of control...difficult things plus not sleeping equals more difficult things. I hope you have more happy and smiling times than the not so much. Becky—I love that “it's not about perfection...it's about persistence” line. It's so true. I did not let Monday's not-so-great day turn into anything more than that. Thanks for sharing that bit of advice. Petra—were you glad that things boiled over so that everyone is going to have to do what needs to be done? I hope that's the case. And I hope you had some Wii time...it sounds like you really enjoy the Wii exercise. I've seen a Wii, but never used one. Yesterday: food—yes; water—yes; vitamins—yes; exercise—yes plus (2 walks and weights). |
Helllooo
I didn't check in last night as I went out to dinner. Such is my eternal struggle - navigating a way between my pretty full-on social life and trying to making healthy food choices so that I don't stray too far from my weight loss path. I guess that's all part of the learning journey - a short term diet isn't going to work for me, healthy eating is my lifestyle choice. It sounds so simple when I write it down - but I need to do a bit more work to make it second nature. ;) Onmyway - funny to see you relishing the warmer temperatures. Here, we are so over our long hot summer and we are enjoying the chill in the air! We had our first frost yesterday :) Woo-hoo on the 1.5 lb - great result. I hope you are on the mend from your cold. I think you're a champion tackling the taxes when you are not feeling quite the thing. KittehMomma - yay that the scales were kind! Hope your week is going to plan. I know how hard it is to get back into it. weightlosswanted - hope you are having a great time in Texas. Great going on staying on track when you are out of your normal routine - that takes real commitment. Wizzie - I'm embarassed at my lack of knowledge of geography in eastern Australia, let alone anywhere else in the world!! I'm so sorry to hear about your friends. I hope each of them makes a good recovery. It's a very worrying time. AnnieDrews - your Indian meal sounds derlish! I hope your troubles are easing. Sue - you are going so well with all your targets - you are really in the zone. Great going to take yourself in hand when you could see yourself beginning to slide. angelskeep - all that spring cleaning adds up to a really solid workout, I reckon! Your place will be gleaming. lambchop - woo-hoo on completing the half marathon! It seems particularly unnecessary to include hills in the route! It's a major achievement and you own it - it certainly was no fluke! petra - I'll have to do a search for your tandoori recipe. We went out for Indian last night - it was yummo! Sorry to hear that matters came to a head at work - sounds a bit drastic. ICUWishing - good luck training for Atlanta. |
Morning girls.
Still no Marie? Hope everything is okay....I know Cindy's had a big change going on, so I wonder if that's cutting into her time with the new living arrangements...hope all is well with both of our girls. Kitteh- are you back on plan? Are you ready for a good week? Kathi- Hope you're enjoying TX and the riverwalk. Kim- sorry to hear the fatigue hs you...that's frustrating - and so sorry to hear of your friend's cancer diagnosis. Annie - I hate off-schedule TOM! Me too...my heavy day fell on my half marathon day...it wasn't due for days! Yeah on the boss liking the chicken - hope today is a good day for you. Sue- Hi Sue, nice to meet you :) staying accountable is a good thing, glad you're checking in, especially if it helps you stay on track Barb- do you prefer the guest season, or the "to yourselves" season at the B/B? hope you get all your chores completed OnMyWay- thank you - yes, I know I worked hard, but you know how we all self-criticize...I guess I needed that second one to cement the fact that yes, I am an endurance athlete in my head. Congrats on the scale moving - and hope the cold is gone soon...hate how miserable a cold makes you feel. Becky- thanks, I'm hoping to pull it out. I chose it FOR the flat course, so we'll see. Good luck at Atlanta, you'll do great! Helloooooo maintaining...keep those calories that you need for competing. That's what I'm in right now...need the increased intake, but trying to make sure they are healthy extra calories. Petra- sorry to hear work is ultra-stressful right now. Hope things settle down - and hope the paperwork isn't too taxing on you Koala - hi, nice to meet you! You're right, the learning journey is how to balance everything..make it fit into your lifestyle, while making good daily choices --- went to the doctor...i'm a perfect example of why not to panic when the scale moves...the scale was up 4 pounds, but it was all good news. See, if I only saw that 4 pounds, i'd freak out at home...but here's what actually happened: I lost 4 pounds of fat, gained 9 pounds of lean muscle - i'm holding water, but my body fat dropped 2% - and I'm burning over 100 extra calories a day at rest...so i'm smaller, leaner, but scale went up...see, don't panic just because the scale moves...and this morning it was down 2 from water finally releasing from my muscles it's not always bad news :) **not shifting my tracker/ticker thingee right now as i'm bouncing around and it's not an indication of how my body is changing...not sure what i'll do...may just pull it off until i'm in a more regular pattern |
Thanks for the warm welcome back. :grouphug: I went to the docs yesterday and weighed 213,:tantrum: waaa waaa.
Going to do some errands, a friend of mine said he would send money to get some painting supplies and a couple canvases. Cool. He is nice guy, I know him from another site. Take care ladies and gents, have a good day!:dancer: |
Well this should be an interesting day. The other inpatient psychiatrist has been told that he has to return to the hospital today whether he wants to or not (yes, this is the fly in the ointment) so that I can get to my delinquent dictations. I think my boss tries to make everyone happy rather than making the tough decisions that need to be made and letting the chips fall where they may. Very frustrating. I don't know if the other doc will now be back regularly (which was the agreement regarding my friend's materninty leave) or if he is just coming over today because it's a crisis but we will get this under control one way or another-if I have to go to hospital administration (over my bosses head) to get it done. I did not volunteer to do 2 people's jobs indefinately. Okay, I'm done venting now.
I may get some updated pictures today since I'm not supposed to have patient care responsibilities today. I'm still on call today so I have to do any consults that come in but that shouldn't be too bad. I told the lady who does my pictures that today would be a good day since I have some flexibility. I'm also wearing the same clothes I wore for my first pictures back in Oct. Would make an interesting comparison. Deb-thanks for your post. I've been very frustrated about my weight really not changing but I have been more active recently too. Clearly some of it is less than perfect dietary compliance but maybe there is more to it than meets the eye. Hydra-glad you are feeling better. I'm getting worried about Marie. This is not like her at all. Hope all is well. Cat-we miss you too but know you may be busy with your new responsibilities. well, better get ready for work so I can get to my dictations. Oh joy! This task is also about as exciting as watching paint dry so that doesn't help anything here. Under normal circumstances I try to do a little several times a week so it doesn't get out of control but to have to sit there and do this all day today is going to be tough. I may check in once or twice from work to keep me from going insane, |
A quick drive by, will be back later for more.
Petra-Thinking of you as you get that boring work caught up. I know you can do it!!:carrot: |
Quick post by me...
Petra I hope things get better soon at work! Wizzie Sorry about your friend's breast cancer diagnosis. I hope it was caught early and that she makes a full recovery. My sister was diagnosed in Feb so I hear you... OnMyWay Look at your ticker move! And I concur, hopefully all is well with Marie and CruiseCAT. Speaking of cancer, I have my 6 breast imaging modalities today: MRI, mammogram, CT scan, ultrasound, heat scan, and some other tomographic scan. It will be a full day, but if there is something to be seen, I'm confident it will be found with this full battery of tests! Only 2 of them are standard (MRI and mammogram) for someone of my high risk status; the other 4 are part of a study I'm gladly participating in. Then tomorrow I go to my gyn onc and hopefully will get my surgery scheduled -- yay. So that's what's up with me. No weight loss to report, but I'm not really focusing on that right now. |
Petra - Hope things get better at work. Sounds like a complete rat race.
Deb- You ROCK! WTG on the running. Koala - No worries! My pen friend as also sent me pics from her trips to Tasmania. I soooo want to go there too. ICU - Can't wait to see how well you do in Atlanta. Do you swim particular strokes? Are you a sprinter or do long ones? I love to swim, just interested in hearing more about what you're into. I have a doctor's appt on Friday for this fatigue. It's just gotten worse and worse. I feel like I can't even get out of a chair. I feel like it's just thyroid meds off. It's really messing with my exercise plan. That really ticks me off. However, I have managed to keep eating the right way, so I'm happy about that anyway. My friend goes tomorrow for a more in depth MRI breast scan before surgery. This whole thing is just surreal to me. Thanks for your well wishes for all my friends. I'll be gone next week to one of my stores ( I'm a corporate marketing manager) for a Relay for Life event. That will pick up my spirits. At least, I'll feel like I'm fighting cancer in some sense. |
LambChop Things are going so well for you! Congratulations on your 2nd 1/2 marathon!!
|
Kim - Generally I'm a distance swimmer because I'm just not fast enough to be a sprinter, but for Atlanta I'll do the 50 and 100 backstroke and the 100IM cuz I can't train enough for anything else - life precludes me from swimming more than 3-4 hours a week. :)
petra - wow - sounds like you're still not done with the hurdles! Sorry the relief process is being dragged out so much. koala - the choices get easier, and after a while, the body acclimates to the good food (and can punish one SEVERELY for straying too far! :D) Practice, practice, practice ... eating out still throws me for a loop sometimes. deb - I am in AWE of your progress. Yes, you most certainly are an athlete! Congrats on the stellar numbers! heidi - good luck on all the tests! I'm a thermography/ultrasound girl myself for the last 10 years, so it's good to see the newer alternatives getting a thorough study that will hopefully prove them out once and for all. Nothing new to report - just trundling along! |
Annie, What will be,will be…Something I’ve learned in my old age, there are just some things I cannot control! Hope your mood is improving!
Petra, Paperwork! Yuck! Not sure I know anyone who likes that aspect of any job. Looking forward to seeing your new pics! ICU, Trundling?!!! That’s a new one, I like the sound of it and absolutely feel that way sometimes! Nationals will be here before you know it! I’ll think of you this weekend, DD has a meet, 9 events over the course of 3 days. I’m timing for two of those days, counting that as my exercise! Slroth, Looks like you are sticking to your plan! Even going above and beyond on the exercise. Hope you are noticing some positive changes as a result! Koala, Many of us here have also realized that these changes we are making are for the rest of our lives. Sadly we know the reality of how quickly we can put on weight, but how hard it is to take it off. If eating out is a big part of your life, many restaurants post nutrition information online, you might want to have a plan before you get there. Lambchop, Your post sounds like you are moving out of your funk! There’s a happier tone there! Sounds like your DR. visit went well, glad you can see the positive in your results! Hydra, Painting sounds like fun! Glad to have you back with us! Newleaf, Hope by now you have been poked, prodded and scanned enough! You certainly have a lot on your plate but you are staying so positive! Hope you can get your date scheduled easily. Thinking of you! Wizzie, Hope your Dr. can give you some insight as to why you are so tired. Relay for Life is a great event, what a wonderful way to help others! Still feeling crappy with this cold, but did go back to school today. My scale was way down this morning but I know it’s because I’m not feeling good and not eating much. I’m not moving the ticker unless it’s still down this weekend. Almost done with the taxes so DH can stop bugging me! When I know there is no refund coming, I’m not as motivated to get them done early! |
I got a reprieve. They have decided not to suspend me-at least not this week but I have to continue to work on my delinquent dictations. Thanks for all your well wishes. I will get this under control one way or another. I did get some pictures taken today. I haven't gotten them emailed to me yet. Will post later.
Becky-May is just around the corner. How exciting. Heidi-Hope all is well with your testing. Better proactive than reactive in this situation. |
a quick hello!!! even though I haven't been making it to 40somethings thread, I'm still around and still doing pretty well, although right now I'm carrying a few extra lbs of water due to finally starting to exercise again after close to a month of being sick.
hope everyone is doing well, and I'll try to not be such a stranger. |
heidi: hope your day of testing went well, I'm impressed that you've gotten into a study : )
deb: not quite sure how the dr determines all those changes though I'm sure you probably explained it at some point. glad you got some positive feedback and have such a positive outlook on the temporary water gain. I'm still in awe of how far you've come w/ the running. you absolutely are a true athlete! becky: I admire your dedication and determination. even 3-4 hours a week is a big committment! petra: wow, so much for appreciating the way you've been busting your butt during the coworker's maternity leave! peanutsmom: hope you feel better soon! kim: glad you're going to the dr to deal with the fatigue. I'm wondering if maybe there's some depression involved due to the situation with your friends? I'm a 6 year bc survivor, today's treatments are extremely effective. Relay for life is one of my favorite events, I love to see how many walk the survivor's lap! hydra: I've always wished I could paint. are you still making jewelry? everyone I've missed: sounds like everybody is doing great! Cat and Marie: we miss you! check in when you get a chance : ) spent today with one of my best friends here in tx, we went to the butterfly center which was awesome! my friend has lost 80lbs since having gastric bypass and my sister has lost 110lbs after the gastric sleeve. makes my 10lbs lost in the past year seem extremely pitiful : ( not as much walking as the last few days, but still doing ok with my food choices. |
petra - thanks Lady, I am feeling better as each day passes. See my pdoc and tdoc today.
newleaf - I am diggin' the new pic and I want cheekbones like yours! onmyway and wlw - thanks for the well wishes. wlw - I would like to make some jewelry but right now hands are too shaky, a side effect to one of the meds i take....everybody can paint...I suck at it so I call it abstract, LOL. I see my psych doc and also my therapist later today. I am going to stop by work and just say hi to everyone. I go back to work on Monday. I am just going to take it easy for next few days. Get lots of rest. Focus on where I am and where I would to be. Have a good day everyone! |
a quick post today and a quick question:
Yesterday's accountability: water--yes; exercise--yes; vitamins--yes--eat well--yes. Does anyone recommend a good water bottle? I've always used old plastic ones, but now the conventional wisdom is not to do that. I have 2 metal ones, one without a drinking spout and one with but it's a cheap spout and doesn't work well. Does anyone know of any good ones with a good spout? Sue |
thanks WLW! I am finally better now - it took being sick for 3 weeks then being on megadoses of antibiotics for 2 weeks, but finally back to normal. Although slammed at work but that should hopefully end today as one of my big projects will be finishing.
and you know what, your 10 lbs is still great because you are down instead of up! And of course, you aren't going to have dramatic losses like 80 or 100 lbs because you stopped yourself from gaining that much weight and turning it around instead! Coming from someone who didn't do that, believe me when I say that is a MAJOR accomplishment right there! |
Marie, Marie....where are you hon?
Hydra - nice to have you back with us! Mary- sorry work has been really sucky lately - did you get the pics taken? hang in there with the scale - I know, frustrating...as much as i'm working out - i still want that NUMBER to change, even if my body is - ok, just read you got hte pics taken, and glad work is backing off some...sounds like you're overwhelmed with too much extra work - hopefully help arrives soon Heidi- hope all the tests went smoothly - I have to do ultrasounds every 6months - have been "called back" yearly since i was 34 (42 now), hang in there -- let us know how it goes, and also with your surgery update, when, etc... Kim, thank you - hope you get this fatigue under control..it's so frustrating when we aren't feeling like ourselves - thyroid meds here for 20 years, so understand that sluggish thing when meds are off - they keep mine a little higher than where they should be, because it's where i feel my best Becky - good luck this week...hey, i'm endurance over speed too :) yeah! OnMyWay- do feel better, thanks. Sorry the cold has you still, and hopefully it will be gone shortly...make sure you eat enough healthy stuff - i know you aren't hungry, but you need the nutrition - hear you on the no refund part of the taxes Peanut- nice to see you and glad you're doing well Kathi- we use ohms/electric current to test resistance, and i get a read out weekly of body fat/lean muscle, etc....love seeing it all, keeps it in perspective for me - do NOT discount the work you're putting in to lose weight...don't compare hon...you're making the choices you need for yourself. Glad you are enjoying your TX time and the butterfly center sounds interesting Sue- I have a KleanCanteen? i think it's called...got it on Amazon, and have the one iwth the sport top -- going to meet some friends today and enjoy a nice park like/sculpture garden - neat place, giant stone sculptures in garden settings... think i'm signing up for a local 5k next week - will be good for me to work on maintaining a quicker pace for 3 miles....since i have another half in May that I have a shorter time limit on not much more going on |
Lambchop, I think a shorter run will be good for you! You'll breeze right thru it! I think it's so amazing that your Dr. can analyze your percentages so easily!
Peanutsmom, Welcome back. Glad you are feeling better. It's a great accomplishment to continue to follow your plan when not feeling well! Slroth, I use a plastic water bottle by Thermos called Intak. I think it's from target but someone at school saud they had them at Sam's in a 4 pack. Works for me! Hydra, sounds like things are heading in the right direction for you. One day at a time! Petra, Good to hear you dodged a bullet at work. Someone has to see that you have been extremely overworked lately, There is only so much one can do in a day. I'm sure you will be relieved to get all of that paperwork done! WLW, Sounds like you are having a great trip. DD and I visited the Butterfly Center in Houston several years ago. What an awesome place! You have had a very chaotic year and to come away 10 pounds lighter is a big deal, something you should be very proud of! Hope everyone has a terrific Thursday. One day closer to the weekend! Cold is still here but I'm trying to get to bed early (thanks to Nyquil!). Scale was still low today, that's a good sign. Managing to get about 1400 calories even with no appetite. |
Good day to all! Had to drop my lawnmower off for service this morning. I am going to try to borrow my ex's lawnmower to get the yard done before the rain comes in tonight. So frustrating.....fiance lives too far away to just throw the mower in his truck and come help me. I get so worked up over little things like this.
Weighed in and stayed the same this morning. I was so hoping to see the 160's by now, but considering I've had TOM this week, staying the same is a good thing! Perspective, Annie. Petra-So glad they are working with you at the hospital. Takes a little pressure off of you for the time being. Heidi-Sounds like the study you are participating in is a really thorough one. I'd love to know more about the CT techniques they use for breast imaging. It does show breast tissue very well, but has always been such a high radiation modality. I'm sure they have worked it down to a manageable level. I'll have to read up on that. Love and a happy day to all!! |
Good morning, ladies. Quick drive by here. Still busy trying to get this place in order. It will have to count as my exercise for the week. Oh well. At least I'm eating properly, so it won't be a total disaster. Hope everyone has a great day!

Drive-by for me too - just plain tired and grouchy. But you're all in my thoughts! Stick to the plans!

Pretty quiet around here these days. Must be the spring weather! Everyone is outside exercising and doing yardwork! Have a great weekend, looking forward to Friday!
