Tuning In 01-19-2010 07:20 PM

Mondays weigh on Tuesday: Go figure. My life went from doing very little of anything on vacation to action packed. I lost an ounce. I guess I should be happy I didn't gain over the weekend like I normally will.

Monday weight: 227.7

Keep up the good work everyone.

TuningIn -- just not going up is a win in my book!

As for me, I like coming back to this thread to check in every once in awhile, to see how I'm doing against my goal. My goal is to be between 167 - 165 on the last day of January, which is 10 days away. Tomorrow is my weekly weigh-in day, but I think this morning I was 165.5, so I'm still on track for my goal. Hopefully I'll be below the range in 10 days, but even if I just stay in the range I'll be happy that I ended the month where I wanted. So, fingers crossed, I should meet my goal.

I hope you all are doing well against your goals, too!

I must have done something right this week. My scale moved in the right direction. I've not been snacking as much and I have been doing more exercise with my Wii Fit. Maybe both?

newleaf123 01-22-2010 09:07 AM

Oh, Petra, I am so happy for you! I know that you have been having a challenge keeping the snacking under control -- I was going to ask you how that was going this morning when I posted my "personals" but decided not to since I didn't want to offend unintentionally... I am just so happy for you that all your work and dedication is paying off... And yes, my bet is "maybe both." I hope you have a great, active weekend!

Heidi-I'm hard to offend, I'm a psychiatrist. I have patients who tell me I'm the devil and I'm poisoning them!

that's weird, I can't figure out how to update the 3FC ticker I used before. Oh well, guess I'll just do a new one.

PeanutsMom Congratulations on your 3 pound loss -- you are doing great!! I'm glad to see that the scale is moving for you again.

Me, I woke up at 164.6 this morning, so I'm still "maintaining" having met my goal of closing the month at 167 - 165. Another week and I can claim success; I know better than to claim having met my goal too early on; a lot can happen in a week...

petra65 01-25-2010 05:35 PM

Newleaf-I've adopted your lb per week goal. I like that idea.

petra65 01-26-2010 08:54 AM

I saw 221 on the scale this morning despite eating out for dinner last night. That's pretty exciting. I'm also wearing pants today I haven't worn in years-and they are comfortable. I don't move my ticker till Friday so that number doesn't count unless it is still there on Fri but nice to see it. My work is paying off.

newleaf123 01-26-2010 09:27 AM

Petra that is so awesome!! Especially after a night at a Mexican restaurant. That is a huge accomplishment... And I really do think that a pound a week is a reasonable goal; hopefully it works for you; and if not, the great thing is, you can always change it! It's all a work in progress, eh?

Congratulations again about the pound!

newleaf123 01-29-2010 07:58 AM

Well this is discouraging - I was 166.0 today, my ticker-changing day! I would really like to be down a tinch for the last day of the month, Sunday.

I hope everyone else is doing well as this challenge winds down...

newleaf123 01-30-2010 09:52 AM

Okay, phew. 164.9 this morning. That's a whole lot better; I'm so glad that Friday was an anomaly. So... just one more day to hang on until the challenge is over...

But I'm having that Ferris Buehler moment in my mind. You know the one? Where the teacher looks up taking attendence and says "Buehler? Buehler??" and he's not there because he's out cutting class?? Well, that's what I'm calling out in this thread... where is everyone?? Buehler??

PeanutsMom704 01-30-2010 03:18 PM

Great job on the 164.9!!

I had a rough couple of days midweek but feel back on track now, so I'll do my normal Monday weigh in, which will also be Feb 1, which is good since I also track each month.

I'd be happy with .5 or more because I'd love to officially get to 25 lbs, but not sure if that will happen or not. Hopefully, the worst I'll do is maintain and not have any increase - right now, I'm up a little bit but it's also TOM, so it's possible some of that water may be gone by Monday. At least I hope so!

I went back and revisited my goal; I thought it was for the last day of the month (today) but it turns out it was for the last Friday of the month. But, either way, I made it -- 166.0 on the last Friday, 165.8 on the last day of the month.

I am down 5.2 pounds from 1/1/01, so I'm happy with that. The weight has all come from my waist and higher. Oh, how I need my hips to budge! Hopefully I'll see some of that in February.

A lot of people have fallen by the wayside this month, and I hope you all are doing okay. There have been months where I have fallen by the wayside, too. If by chance you are reading this and have not met your goal -- don't fret, just keep scratching away at one ounce after another; they do add up!

Losing80 01-31-2010 12:35 PM

Well, that was weird. I blew past my goal. Not usually a fast loser. I'm pretty sure it was mostly water weight. January was my first month sticking to exercise and diet changes. I have a feeling the real work's about to start! No worries. I'm happy for the strong start. 216.6 to 208.2 for Jan.

Petra, congrats on getting into those pants. That's got to feel fantastic. I got stuck in my tights after shoveling snow last night. Wish I'd had your looser fitting clothes. ;)
Newleaf, 5.2 off in Jan - yay! Right in your range. You must be doing something right.
PeanutsMom, good luck w/ your Monday weigh in.

I hope things are less hectic next month and I can check in more on the weekly chat. Take care everyone.
