Default I'm a determined New Year Newbie!

Hello Everyone,
My name is Tonya and I am one of the New Year newbies. I figured I better get started getting my weight off since it has been packing on way to fast lately.

I am a 41 year old wife and mother of a 12 and 10 year old. We moved to another state July 2008 and I took the first year off to get everyone settled and used to their new home. I started a new job in August as an Administrative Assistant and couldn't believe it when I gain 10 lbs over the next 4 months.

I started the Atkins diet on Monday and so far have lost 6 lbs. I realize that a lot of this is water weight for the first week, but it sure helps keep you motivated.

I am excited to be part of the 40-Somethings!

Welcome, Tonya! I moved from one state to another in 2005 and it was such a huge change -- I hear you! Sorry to hear about the weight gain when you started your new job. But the great thing is that you are on your way to taking it off again! Looking forward to getting to know you... Feel free to jump right in to the chat thread!

welcome tonya!

I'm a fairly recent cross country mover too - well, not that recent, it's 3 years now, which seems surprising, it's gone fast!

I agree with you about that first week bump, it's definitely great motivation to keep sticking with your program!

Welcome! Arrgh. Moving and new environments are difficult for me too! Good for you to conquer this ten pounds in. Way to go on your accomplishment thus far.
