Thanks for the encouragement Ladies! I have lost all the off plan/binge weight from last week plus a half pound. Yay! I am back on track and have some tools to cope with stress in a better way than gorging on crappy food.

I have been on my weight loss journey for exactly one month today and I have lost 21 pounds! I know that sounds like a lot but I have over 50 more to lose and I was drinking diet soda constantly so I think a lot of the weight was water. I feel so much better and when I get to 26 pounds lost that will be 1/3 of my goal and I will take pictures of my progress.

Just a quick hello to let you all know I'm doing much better. My left knee and forearm are still hurting but other than that I'm healing nicely.

It's warm (upper 90's) so we're headed out to the pool for a couple hours.

Hi everyone,

Today's my DS's 23rd b-day. So far cake batter and frosting have ended up in my mouth. Oh why did he have to pick MY b-day cake for his this time??? I love Red Velvet Cake. It is going home with him though. I can still make my calorie goal if I really, really good for dinner. Since I missed by 221 cals yesterday, I really need to be better today. So far I'm thinking my no weighing daily is a miserable failure. Not to make excuses but yesterday was day of TOM arriving that night - I always want cookies... and today is b-day. If tomorrow is this much of a struggle, I'm back to weighing everyday. I'm hoping it won't be.

Cruise, I'm glad you're feeling better! Enjoy the pool. I let mine close for the season as I wasn't using it enough even though it's been plenty warm.

Hydra!!! Congrats on the 21 pound loss. That's awesome and you are rockin'!

Penguin, my guess is knitters have so much extra yarn that the baby hospital donations is on the rise because knitters don't want to throw a skein away. I admit it's been hard not to weigh but I'm guessing after my struggle weekend, ignoring my scale tomorrow will be simple.

DMC, great job on the hike. I bet you had fun.

I think if a person runs for president on the platform of a four day work week I'm voting for her/him and volunteering for the campaign. I hate that weekend is almost over.

DMC2009 I hope you had a great hike!

Hydra WOW, 21 pounds!! That is incredible!! Keep up the good work! But don't get discouraged if you start seeing your loss rate slow; I've heard that that happens to people as they start having less to lose.

CruiseCAT I'm glad you're starting to feel like yourself again... It was in the 80s here today, which seemed unseasonably warm. Low 70s is more like it.

Marie Sorry that the weekend is coming to an end... At least it probably also connotes less opportunities to eat off plan, which is good. At least it does, for me.

I've lost 25 pounds as of this morning, which I can't quite fathom. I can barely lift or move around something that weighs 25 pounds, and here I've lost that much? We went to the movies this afternoon and I opted against getting any candy, although I could have easily justified it. But I remembered that when I took the boys to a baseball game and got caramel popcorn because I could easily justify it, and it became a slippery slope of needing sweet after sweet. So, drawing on that experience, I just paid for my kids' candy and got nothing from me. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs was fun, but I thought UP! was much better, and my DH (who did not see UP!) thought that Ratatouille was much better. The boys loved it, though, so that was what it was really about.

AND, we went to REI afterwards and I splurged on a Marmot skin-tight windbreaker jacket. It was on sale, and definitely the kind of thing that only a thin person could pull off. I love it!

Hi everyone! We've been out of town visiting MIL since Friday. No internet. Looks like everyone has been doing well. Walked yesterday and this Am before heading back home. Managed to make some fairly good choices despite many temptations. My MIL is a terrific cook. Count me in as one to vote for the 4 day work week. The weekends are always too short for me during the school year. Hope everyone has a great week!

Cruise, you asked about estimates for our bathroom. We had 2 estimates. The guy we went with was referred by a friend who also had a bathroom done. His labor cost was very reasonable and we had seen the work he did at our friend's house. He did our main bath in the spring and then we had him do the master. I'll post some pics later.

Hi, All! Mind if I join you? I've been lurking for a bit, and have to say I'm really inspired. Even setbacks like physical falls, emotional upheavals, and just plain falling-off-the-wagon don't stop you ladies!
Lost most weight recently through stress of putting Mom in nursing home. Now trying to do it right. Hiked this morning, myself. Short, but definitely a lot of uphill. Luckily, had the dog to help pull me up!

Welcome, Girl&Dog. Congrats on your 10 lb. loss. Sorry to hear about your mother; I'm sure that's a difficult decision / process...

Default Good morning

Well, I think I blew it this weekend.

Bought soem itty bitty cupcakes which started it. Oh... and a bottle of wine.
That's it. NO SUGAR and that means NO WINE. I do my best when I eliminate those completely, because they both have an effect on me and I weaken my resolve.

I am going to work extra hard this week to make up for it. I have my sugar free candies and no more wine! LOL

Marie, I love 4 day work weeks.
OMY, nice to see you.
Girl&Dog, nice to meet you.

Last night the munchies got me and that is why I am feeling so poorly today!

Ugh... by tonight, I will feel back on track

Girl & Dog - Welcome to the group. We really do have a GREAT bunch of ladies here. Ten pounds is an excellent start. Not the ideal way to drop weight but now you have that little boast that so many want/need. Where did you hike; did you take any pictures?

Marie - I love the idea of a four day work week. Mack works 9/80's so we do have it every other weekend.

DMC - Are you back on track? You can do it..... just say no!!! My weakness is having a couple beers out by the pool; yesterday it triggered a call to Pizza Hut. I'm up a few today but I know it will come off before the end of the week.

Heidi - 25 lbs. is a big deal!!! You are doing GREAT!!! WTG on drawing strength from your previous experience with the candy.

I'm thinking I'll be able to clean house today but unfortunately it will be a few more days before I can get back to my regular workouts.

Good morning and happy Monday!

Girl - Welcome!

My turn to do the "drive by" - it's going to be a very fast-paced week for me. DH will be working hard overtime for the next two weeks, and I will be conducting SPC training for all 4 of our shifts. And of course DS10 still needs to get to swimming, choir and piano and a doctor's appt (does he sound overscheduled???), we're going canoeing/camping this weekend, the lawn needs mowing ... GAH!!!! Oh well. I'll be too busy to be off plan by much.

Newleaf, CONGRATULATIONS on the 25 pounds and the excellent choice at the theater. When I think of the major amount of weight lost by the 40s chickies I always think of our aging joints and how the heck they carried all that weight. I bet your knees are loving you. Congrats on your splurge at REI. How fun!

OMW, you did great this weekend. Staying with a with a great cook is like taking aim at our will power. You did great.

Girl and Dog, please tell the resident Husky Dog lover about your dog. You have a few of us dog lovers in your company here. So do tell more. I’m very sorry about the difficult decisions you’ve had to make. And welcome to our fun, great group. I love it here.

DMC, sounds like you figured your triggers and that they can’t be around in any form. Good luck with it. You can do this.

Cruise, my DH do the 9 days, 80 hours too. I am so jealous since I work 9 hours/day quite often although much from home. I wish I could work from home. I’d be more productive and when I do I am obsessive not to slack in anyway. I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better.

ICU, at least through the hectic week you have a fun weekend planned to aim for.

The Red Velvet cake has been removed from the house. Oh it was so good but I had this tiny slice that my son rolled his eyes. He took 1/8 of the entire cake. Mine was 1/24. I only had 3 pieces of fondue steak (3 oz) and filled up on green beans. So my calorie day was salvaged. I swear routine is easy for losing weight – it’s the bumps that are more difficult. My family (like most) celebrate with food. I wish I could think of a better choice. At least no one in my family poo-poos my choices. DS rolled his eyes, but I know he’s proud as his mom isn’t fat anymore. He’s a fitness buff so all is good.
