Default How do you reward yourself?

I decided to reward myself for having lost fifteen pounds. I ordered myself a celtic pendant, an ankle bracelet, a book on gluten free eating and a book on callanetics exercising. I can't wait for my treats to get here!

How do you reward yourself for your accomplishments, mini goals and big goals?

My plan, at the moment, is to reward myself with a movie in the theater every 5 pounds, except I'll do a massage at the 15 pound marks instead.

And, at 200 and 160, I intend to go to a health spa that's a few hours away. I'm superstitious about 200, because the two times I've gone down that far, the weight has shot back up. So, I'm hoping the health spa reward will a) help motivate me to get there and b) help me move past that tricky place. The reasoning for the second visit is that I hear the last 10 pounds are often the hardest and, I'm not really sure what my goal weight should be so I'll want some help at that point to figure it out.

Oh, I'm also rewarding myself for meeting monthly exercise goals by purchasing a new exercise DVD. And, I have a goal of reading 90 books that support my healthy lifestyle. I'm reading those from the library, but for every 10 books, I'll buy a book -- either one I've read that I want to own or one that the library doesn't have and I want to read.

The only reward that I have done is new underwear when I lost 10 lbs. I had mentally set up a reward of getting a certain ring resized when I lost 20 lbs, but even though I have lost the weight, I haven't made time to go to the jeweler. I guess I should do that, and come up with some *great* reward to motivate me to lose the next 10 lbs. Hmmmmm, need to think about that.

Well, this is an amazing post! I hadn't thought about rewarding myself, however, I reached my 10% weight loss goal today that I have been working on for four months. Now, I guess I will spend my day trying to think of what I could do to celebrate! Thanks again for the post.

I like to treat myself to a new piece of jewelry - like a pair of earrings. Not expensive but nice.

I also plan to treat myself to some high end yarn to make myself something. I like knitting and crochet and I plan to make myself some cute little tank tops with some nice expensive yarn. I recently bought some baby alpaca lace weight yarn that is destined to become a nice scarf.

These will be treats at every ten pounds lost.

clothes...usually although my big reward which now I think I am too chicken to do is a boob job....If I make it a year (Feb) with sticking to my lifestyle change, I told myself I would do it. I don't necessarily want them bigger, just firmer. Then someone told me how they REALLY do it, and I don't think I'm up for it!!! Oh well, maybe if I keep doing chest presses I might see a difference...LOL!!!

There was a pedicure in the mix, which was fun! I have a gift certificate to a day spa that I'm now ready to schedule (20# off), and I've promised myself an Ipod Touch when I break the 150's. One of the best ideas I've heard of came from one of the other threads - one lady bought a charm bracelet and was adding a charm at every 5#. I think that would be an awesome reminder!

I bought a bracelet from Brighton. I add a bead for every 10. I wear it every day and it is a constant reminder of how far I have come.

I'm also scheduled to have some of the spider veins removed from my legs in early Oct. I had an appt. for next week but the DR. had to reschedule. I've wanted to do it for many years but have not felt comfortable in shorts until recently.

For now, handbags and shoes, and domestic trips for the bigger milestones. After I lost 25 lbs, I treated myself to a trip to L.A. and went to a taping of the Late Late Show. I'm so in love with Craig! I plan to go again after I've lost 50 lbs. My plan is to go on a big BIG trip, through France and Italy, after I reach goal.

The necklace came the other day that I bought for myself for losing the first 15 pounds of weight.

I recently slipped into Onederland (Yay, me!!!) and have been trying to think of a reward. Normally my rewards have been things like a nice handbag, but I want something different this time. I don't have a real iPod; I have a Sansa fuze which is OK but an iPod might be nice. I also really, really want a NICE pair of jeans but I think it would be wise to wait till I reach goal for that.

I dunno. I like being slimmer and so I've bought a bunch of clothes lately; unfortunately, a couple things are already getting baggy so I need to not do that anymore till I get closer to goal. I do have a new pair of running shoes coming from Zappos, but should that really be a reward? Isn't that more like a necessary tool? What to do, what to do! I love the charm/bead bracelet idea. That's a good one.
