:grouphug: Hey Everyone! :grouphug:
:welcome3: Curlylocks! You are joining an awesome support group and we are just a terrific bunch of ladies...So WELCOME! Curlylocks age just sneaks up on you...kinda like Michael Meyers in an old delapitated victorian house!:welcome3: Cheri...Yup heading into day 20! I am doing that count backwards stuff to psyche myself out! or into the challenge...and kick this rut in the butt! Aw poetry! :kickbutt: :cheer: Jo...Hey! Yeah stiff upper lip! I so admire that you are just forging ahead! :cheer: :congrat: Clydegirl... Good for you and your 2.5 lb wt loss...Yeah for you!!! Yeah this tooth broke right in half and I am so nervous that it will begin to hurt...I am terrified of dentist...my mother almost died from a "routine" dental procedure (tooth extraction) and she was in the hospital for almost one month and transferred via ambulance to a larger hospital an hour from our home...so I am really nervous! :congrat: |
Ladies, Ladies, Ladies
The dentist is your friend. :goodvibes he/she keeps your smile healthy. I am a dental assistant and I can tell you the longer you wait the worse it will be. It may not hurt now but if you get infection in it, it will. Kimush I am thinking your mother must have had some infection in the tooth area and when they pulled the tooth the infection just spread. It is very unlikely it will happen to you. Please stop worring about it and go in and get your tooth fixed. Can I help you feel better about this? Cheri' |
Good post Cheri. That makes me laugh! Isn't it awful how we would rather put up with pain rather than going to our dentists? I actually really like my dentist and have known him for a very long time. He puts up with my attitude about going to the dentist and makes me laugh.
Well, I went to the doctor (yet another thing that I just LOVE to do... not!) to find out what is wrong with my back. Evidently, I pulled/strained a ligament in my pelvis. I need to take it a little easy, but I will be getting better. I was feeling so negative about it because I was so worried this would set me back a bunch. But, now I know I can get through it. I wonder if my family will feel sorry for me and cater to my every need this weekend? Not likely!! ha! Have a good weekend everyone. I have my son's baseball game tonight and then we should be done with running around this weekend (except for the grocery store). I have lots of projects waiting around the house for me. |

Hi ladies,
I’m SO thankful it’s Friday!!! It’s been such an odd work week for me that I’m happy to put it behind me. :hyper: This site has been my sole saving grace this week when it comes to any sort of sanity. I have managed to actually complete a few things on my “to do” list today, so it makes me feel good, but I missed my 30 minute water jog. I’m hoping to take my daughter for a 30 minute walk tonight as long as the rain holds off. :rain: Tomorrow is “outside chores day” for me and my daughter. I’m hoping to get the yard in ship shape this summer so that it looks next summer when I sell. I actually feel organized, even if I’m a week or two behind in the planting that I wanted to do. I even have a color scheme for my flowering plants. The actual grass isn’t supposed to be planted until mid-May so I’m on time there, but I still have to weed and feed the lawn in preparation for it. This is all so “easy” to do with a two-year old (without “listening ears”) – grrrrr. I know it WILL get done, but not sure when… :dunno: Diane (Slashnl) – I’m sorry to hear about your back. Are you still allowed to do yoga or swim? I’m glad you had it checked out and know what’s wrong and what you can do to work through it. Even if the family doesn’t cater to you this weekend, it’s a great excuse to ease up for a little bit. (It’s too bad we can’t “virtually” come over to your house and help out. I’d do it if I could.):getwell: Kimush – How scary (what your Mom went through)!! I can certainly understand why you’re nervous. Droopsygirl (Cheri) made a good point, though. You certainly don’t want anything to get worse. :stars: So let us know when you’re going in to the dentist and we’ll all provide what ever support we can. Clydegirl – CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss! :goodscale Do the “Happy Dance!”:belly: Cammie |
Thanks Cammie and Kimush. Love the smilies :thanks:

:grouphug: Hey Girls... :grouphug:
Cheri...you are so right...it was a bacteria that was introduced into the her blood stream...that is not normally in your mouth...there was some questions that arose as the dentist (who has the "best wrists" in town for extractions...consequentially there are very few bone chips) would never wear gloves when working...therefore some issues arose from that...but what a weird freaky thing to happen...wow you work with teeth...wow! :stress: Diane... :getwell: that is a pity...well baby yourself a little and it should mend well...I love my dentist and really admire that he puts up with all me weird obsessing and anxiety before and during a visit...he is an sweety! :goodvibes Cammie...that is awesome and thanks so much...we support eachother through our weight issues, TOM and dental issues... Clydegirl......you deserve some "snaps" You guys want to hear something cute! My nephew has been in the hospital the last two nights (twisted bowel and sinus infection and he should be out tomorrow..Thank You God!)...I have my nieces while my sister and brother in law are at the hospital...so tonight after dinner we went for a nature drive...looking for interesting animals...we saw a good sized fox, raccoon, several deer... we come home and there is large raccoon and a baby sitting outside near my back door area...the mum looks like she is going to kick butt if I get to close...so I think that she looks like an orphaned one that we raised about 4 years ago (Sally)...and it although she was puffed up and looking nasty the more I called her name the more she settled and then she just sat there with her baby watching my nieces and me! Sally had an unusally longer tail which was very red in colour compared to the rest of her body...Pretty awesome! Who knows maybe she came "home" to show me her baby... Pretty cool!  |
Good Morning Everyone!:broc:
It it finally Saturday! I am headed to Pella for the annual Tulip Festible which means 2 whole days of eating out. I am hoping I have the control for this trip. I hope you all have a great weekend and stay healthy. Cheri' |
:grouphug: Hello Everyone... :grouphug:
All is good...my Nephew was discharged from the hospital and he is one the mend... Cheri that sounds like an awesome weekend plan... |
Morning everyone!
It's lovely to see new folks! Our point here gals, is that 47 is not old. We're gonna be examples of just how awesome 40-somethings can be. Right?! |
Howdy! I am not 40 yet, but was wondering if you might let a 38-1/2 year old join your group?
I've been on 3FC for a long time but haven't been around lately. I'm reading the Best Life Diet book right now, just about to start the Phase 1 chapter. A little about myself.. I'm 38, got married July 2005. (First marriage for both of us.) I met my DH on Match.com. We don't have any kids - in fact just found out on Thursday that we won't be having any kids. I need to get down to at least 200, which is doable, but we don't want to be having babies in our 40s. The fertility specialist did suggest surgery, but I don't want to go that route. We have two dogs (westie and schnauzer) and a cat. I work from home right now, although I'm hoping to get a technical writer job this summer. I belong to the Anytime Fitness gym. Thankfully my insurance pays for $20 of the $30 monthly fee as long as I go 12 times a month. This morning was my first 30 minute treadmill walk. I normally do 20 minutes. I typically do lift weights but I haven't done so this last week because I hurt my lower back. The chiropractor says something about swollen joints or something. What's scary is that I do have rheumatoid arthritis that has been in remission for the last three years... so I am praying that isn't the back issue. (I have been off my methotrexate injections since Dec. 2005.) Right now, it mostly hurts in the morning (hard to stand when getting out of chairs or bending forward) and it seems to loosen up in the early afternoon. Certainly makes me think it is arthritis... :?: I have a Chiropractor appt. at 11 this morning for shock therapy. Well, not really... although it does stimulate the muscles. Looking forward to getting to know you all! Kimberly PS. Menopause hits my family early. My mom was about 42... she's 61 now and still gets hot flashes and all that. Great. The only good news is that I have very low blood pressure so I am cold all the time - summer, winter, it's all the same. Maybe a flash or two would be good? |
Hi Kimberly :welcome2: we're a friendly bunch.
|
Well I had a busy weekend went to Six Flags St.Louis with hubbie's work. We walked around that park for 9 hours :running: It was a warm day too. My youngest enjoyed herself. Hubbie went on all the roller coasters, we watched. I should have worn my pedometer to see how many steps I did.
Kimush good news about your nephew, very worrying when a child is in the hospital. That was a nice story about Sally bringing her baby to show you. |
Welcome Kimberly! (Even though you are AWFULLY young to be hanging out with us! ha!)
Kimush: Glad to hear the good news about your nephew. Hopefully things will start looking up for him now. Clydegirl: No roller coasters for you??! (I wouldn't be on them either!!) Kind of a non-eventful weekend for me. And that's ok! I was just trying to get myself on the mend. I have a lot to do at work this week, so it's going to be a really fun time for me. I also broke my glasses, so I'm going with the "athletic tape" look today. At least it is off to the side and not in the middle. Still geeky, but not as bad as it could be!! Guess I'll make that eye appt now. I've been putting it off, but I guess it should be a priority now so that I can get my dignity back. ha! |
Diane I can't go on roller coasters without throwing up.:dizzy:
I also have a bulging disc in my neck not recommended. New glasses, some nice ones out there. |
Afternoon all! Nice weekend here; beautiful weather. Today is gorgeous too. Three loads of laundry are on the line and am just waiting for the last one to finish up in the wash.
Slash -- ow, back problems. They are quite the bugger when they go out on ya, aren't they? Originally Posted by Slashnl: Originally Posted by Clydegirl: Cammie - yeah, I spent the weekend trying to get stuff done outside too. Still at it. We get treeswallows and bluebirds every year. We have 2 boxes and they bicker over who will get which box. The bb's get really aggressive after their eggs are laid but the treeswallows are just the nicest birds. They look like they're swimming when the fly. And they look like they have fun when they fly too! Droopy - how was the Tulip Fest? The rabbits ate all my crocus and tulips, except for one plant. KimMN - :welcome2: Glad to meet you! R.A. -- ooo, I know how awful this can be. My mom has it and has been on Remicad (sp?) for quite awhile. She had been on Vioxx but had bleeding problems. Constant pain. I hope you stay in remission. Well, even though you are just a sprout at 38 . . . . . ok, you can stay w/us, aaahhh "maturer" girls! ;) :D The college search is still on. Collegeboard dot com is a great site. It took me all day Friday, but I finally got the right parameters in for my search and found a few private schools that offer broadcasting. Need to set up some appointments to go see them. A bit of advice for anyone who will be doing college tours -- wear comfortable shoes and socks! Seems like a no brainer, doesn't it? I was fine w/the shoes (leather clogs) but I think I put my husband's socks on by mistake and got a blister under my big toe! Yes, yes I just don't pay attention sometimes! :dizzy: :joker: Am off to tackle some more weeds and wash. Have a good afternoon and evenings all!! Jo Just an edit to post that a mom and dad goose and their three little babies just wandered into our neighbor's yard. I followed them down the street. Have no idea where they're heading; the babies aren't big enough to fly. I recorded them on our minidv camcorder. So very cute!! |
