What are the requirements for a food to be considered 'dairy'? Is is 20 or 30% calcium? If ice cream is high enough in calcium, can it count [no sugar added]?
Ice cream is not a dairy serving ever. It is not how much calcium the food has, it has to be real dairy because it takes into account protein and other thinks as well. It takes 30% to be a serving, but only the dairy on the list - milk, cheese, fortified soy. etc. A 6 oz. yogurt is not a dairy serving and some 8 ounce ones aren't either if you read the label.
