Hey guys - sorry to have gone MIA so soon. I'm don't think I mentioned it before, so I should now - I have bipolar disorder, so while I occasionally have great fits of energy and motivation, other times I just plop into really depressed mode and can't be bothered with much. It's nothing personal, but I thought I'd let you all know that now to explain my inevitable absences.
I had oral surgery for wisdom teeth, and am so bummed to realize I only lost one lb lol. I don't get it - I didn't eat (well, drink) anything fattening or even a lot of anything. Oh well, a pound is a pound, right? Well, I will BBL to catch up! Edit - Oh wait - looking at my tickers I see it's 2 lbs down! Still not what I was hoping for but it's progress! |
Patti - I am really sorry to hear your cold has come back full force. Do you think you are getting enough vitamins etc from the food you are eating? Perhaps you could take a multi vitamin tablet. It might help you to get rid of that cold once and for all.
I hope you enjoy your ‘really good company’ tomorrow and that you feel much better too. Missy - I put in a special request to the FFM, not only to NOT drop off any unwelcome gifts, but to kindly take a lb or two away with her when she visits you :goodluck: Michelle - glad to hear that those wounds are healing, but I can understand why you are a bit concerned about the one on your chest. One of the things that I used which really does promote healing on large wounds are Inadine gauze squares. I don’t know about over there, but here they are only available on prescription. They are worth their weight in gold though, and if that wound of yours does seem to be taking too long to heal I suggest you ask your doctor about getting some. Your hubby is a sweetheart isn’t he, coming back with such an assortment of dressings. Better to have loads though, I am sure they will never get wasted :D You know you said about the water there, and how you prefer to buy bottled water since they started doing something different to the tap water? Have you considered buying a jug that filters the water, here they are called Brita Filters, and they really are brilliant. I don’t like the taste of tap water, but equally am not keen on the taste, but more to the point, the cost of bottled water. So I bought a filter years ago and am so glad that I did. Even the kids won’t drink tap water now if they can help it  Thanks for the congrats on my 90 lbs gone, I feel strange about it. I am happy yes, but I am also sad that I let myself get to that size in the first place. I still have so much weight to go before I am a ‘normal’ size, and although I KNOW I can do it, it’s still very daunting. The thought of sagging excess skin isn’t nice either. Oh well rather that than be huge and unhealthy  Angel - oh that sucks, all that pain from the oral surgery and only 2 lbs to show for it  I think you might find that your metabolism really slowed down during that time, and maybe now that you are eating properly again it will speed back up and your next WI will be more pleasing. 2 lbs is a great loss under normal circumstances though and still deserves a big :cheer: I just wish it had been more because I KNOW that you just can’t eat and have to suffer so much after wisdom tooth removal  I have a friend who is Bi-polar, funnily enough her name is Angel too :D You aren’t one and the same are you  Bye for now, Hugs, Ammi :grouphug: |
Ammi am taking Tylenol cold medicine but i do need to take a vitamin too. i dont have much appetite but i do eat a little bit along the way. my therory is if you aint hungry dont eat lol. i am taking this week off from exercising as i am gonna be very busy but this morning i have hardly sat down for thirty minutes! still hunting christmas decorations and wrapping presents as such!
|
Patti - I don't want to sound like a nag bag, but even though you don't feel much like eating, I really think you should try to have something small and often throughout the day. Otherwise your metabolism is going to slow down, and that without the exercising is not going to encourage the FFM to come visiting. Hope you don't mind the nag, just concerned
Hope you find the christmas decorations lol. I am going to be wrapping presents and writing my cards this weekend :D Hugs, Ammi :dizzy: |
Ammi i did eat a bite thanks for the nag lol i dont mind abit got to keep that metabolism going! yes i did find most of my decorations but i am still looking for my christmas shelf sitters! oh well maybe they will show up this weekend!

Hi Ladies - Well the FFM did NOT listen. :( Although I did weigh a couple hours after breakfast, but I don't think that would make a difference. Well I'm +1.5lbs, ouch! So my goal for the next 3 weeks before my trip is to lose 6lbs...seems I'm not getting anywhere! Sigh...hopefully I get in some carido today! to all, stay OP chickies!

Sharon, I have to get blood tests once a week. They call the test an INR or protime test. It's to measure how much of the warfirin is in my blood. The level needs to be between 2 & 3, and mine is barely above 1.5. If it's not between 2 & 3, then it's not high enough to do any good dissolving the clot. Very frustrating. And I'm already exhausted all the time and the level isn't even where it's suppose to be.
Oh well, could be worse.....I could be back in the hospital. Michelle, It's so good to hear you sound more relaxed no that you're home. GREAT JOB on all that water! I finally had a day where my water was pretty good....but not as good as yours. Hope you keep progressing. Hope you slept well. Fallen Angel, Sorry about your oral surgery. I know it's painful. Hope your meds are stable for your bipolar. Did you know there's an injection available that you get only every two weeks. I know shots aren't fun, but this keeps the levels more stable, thus keeping you more stable. (my dh's ex wife is bipolar) Just a thought. Hang in there sweetie. Patti, Honey, you've had this cold since I've been visiting this site. Are you sure it isn't allergies??? I know most pollen is gone now, but there's always dust and mold. Ammi, A pm will follow.....Please, don't feel sad about your size. (remember when i saw the video of my dd's wedding and saw myself.) You said something to the affect that we're now doing something about our weight and you my dear, are making amazing progress. Especially with all your health issues. You are truly an inspiration to me. To all others, hope you're having a good day. Mine was ok. Better than the past few weeks, but not as good as I'd like. One day at a time, right? |
Sandy it may very well be allergies i do have a cat lol. i think this time its a cold though one day the weather is hot and at night it gets below freezing!

Just a quick post for the evening to wish everyone who celebrates it a :thanks1:!!!!! I will be leaving for Iowa early tomorrow morning and will be away until the following Monday. Will probably be Tuesday before I can get back online and get caught up with everyone. I will be thinking about you all and let's all do our best to enjoy ourselves without going too overboard! And if we do go overboard, let's do our best to forgive ourselves and start again!
Sharon - My dog is a little mixed breed mutt. He's about 20 pounds with short black hair and big pointy ears. He reminds me of a chihuahua but bigger. One of these days I'll have to post his picture on the pic thread. We don't really know what he is as he was found on the side of the road at my dad's house in the country. Somebody apparently took him there and just dumped him. It was so sad and he was just a tiny puppy at the time. I remember his first vet visit he weighed 2.2 pounds and the vet estimated him to be 5 weeks old. Can you imagine the cruelty of dumping a pup that small out to fend for himself? People are so idiotic sometimes. As for baths, he tolerates them and that is about it. Just like your dog, he gives me the "I'm the saddest dog in the entire world" face but once it's over and he's been toweled off he runs through the house like a maniac he is so excited. Why are dogs so silly like that? You just have to love them. :dizzy: Oh, and congrats  on being down another 2 pounds. Be careful weighing yourself everyday though. The daily fluctuations can really drive you crazy if you aren't careful. (speaking from experience) Ammi - I won't be here to do it on the actual day so I will tell you now...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! I hope you guys have a lovely day whatever you decide to do to celebrate! As for your size...no sense beating yourself up for what is in the past. It's more important that you have done something about it. 90 pounds is a major accomplishment and one not many can say they have done. You are a lovely person inside and out so think positive things about yourself. Melissa - I am sorry the FFM did not cooperate with you. 6 pounds in 3 weeks seems like a reasonable goal. You can do it! Michelle - You are so right. Portion control is the key. We could all enjoy our favorites at Thanksgiving and not gain or gain very little if we'd just eat a normal amount of them instead of eating ourselves silly! Easy to say and hard to do though. FallenAngel - I've had my wisdome teeth out and I know it's no fun at all! Hope you are all healed up from that now though. And thankfully they don't grow back. ;) Patti - Hope your cold is better soon! Sandy - Here's hoping the docs get your medicine worked out soon and that nasty old clot can be on its way! That's it for me. I am off to relax and go to bed early. I will be getting up with the chickens to get starting on my 12 hour drive...maybe 13. |
have a great thanksgiving xena

Hi Ladies - If all goes well I will be getting my puppy on Saturday!!! If not, then the week after. :) My sister and I (and her son and husband - my guy has to work) are going to drive to pick her up. It's a loooong drive, too! But worth it! The woman doesn't want to ship the pup cause she thinks it's not good from them to travel alone in a carrier for so long. I have to take a ferry to Vancouver, where I will meet my sister at (she has to drive 1.5 hours, then take the ferry to meet me there) then we have to drive approx. 4 hours EACH WAY (to get her, then back to the ferry) to get to her! Ahh! But it'll be a nice trip I think, something for me to go do with my family I don't see too too often. Also, I haven't been to there - Kamloops - since I was about 8, so that should be fun. :) Anyways, I hope it all works out, I will keep you all posted. So, I got in alot of walking today, I'm happy with it - 68 minutes! :D Hopefully next weeks weigh-in will be better. And hopfully when my TOM leaves I will drop a pound or 2, lol, I've had it for soooo long now - over 3 weeks for sure! :( Well, I'm off for now. Stay OP chickies!

Hey everyone..just a quick post. I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving. ( for those who have the holiday Thursday.) I am losing the internet for a day or two. They are taking our modem out to see if we can get a better internet connection. We have been having issues with it. So I may be back in a day or two hopefully! Take care everyone and have a good remainder of the week! (hugs)

Another quick one from me. The "A Current Affair" segment aired tonight. There are a couple of cute parts with the kids. I was one of 3 women that they were featuring.
The clip can be seen at: http://ninemsn.video.msn.com/v/en-au/v.htm?t=m164 You have to click on the story about "Weight Loss Wonders". I couldn't get the video to play that well, but maybe you will have more luck. The reporter is sending me a copy of the story, which will be good. Well, I'm off to organise tomorrow's lunch. I'll be back later to catch up. I have now finished my end of year reports AND my report for my student teacher, so hopefully I'll have time to scratch myself soon. Take care, Zelma |
Zelma, What a lovely woman you are. I loved the clip! Your students are adorable. Thanks for sharing the clip. I'm going to review it often.
Hope all of you have a good holiday for those of you that do Thanksgiving. Happy Anniversary to Ammi. Later my friends!!! |
Oh Ammi - Obviously I have missed something as I have just been 'skimming' these last couple of days while I fly by.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!! (for tomorrow) I hope you and Daren have a wonderful day! Do you have anything planned? You have probably mentioned it before, but I may not have been paying attention. My mind has been straying a little lately, as I try to keep up with my list of things to do. (If my students used that excuse for not paying attention I probably wouldn't be very happy.lol) Take care, Zelma |
