I have been lurking around the forums for quite some time now and have decided to take the plunge and join in the fun and introduce myself to this inspiring group. I recently had an epiphany and decided its do or die time in regards to my 300++ pounds. I really don't have any support besides myself...when you start a diet and fail 100+ time people tend to lose faith in your ability to stick to it. But this time is different...I have been going strong for 2 and half weeks now and can feel and the see the difference on the scale. There comes a time when your focus and will power is unwaivering and you just have to seize that power and run with it. I hope with the support from this group I can succeed further. Hey there FluffyKat (nice to have another Kat/t on board lol). Well done on getting back on the path to health .. this site has been an inspiration for me with so many lovely women telling of their journey (would love to see some of the men write .. but I think we scare em) it defintely makes it easier to stick to the road, even when you take a side road occasionally when you come on here they are all here calling you back onto the right one and will support and encourage you as much as you ask for ... and thats the thing ... on here keep in mind that while we love to read the positives its vital that you use this place for the problems too ... usually the majority of us have put on the weight through emotional eating feeling we cant talk to anyone so we turn to food for the support we need ... TALK HERE!! You will find the majority of us will know the exact feeling .. and those that are approaching their goal are the most inspirational readings and some of the biggest support of encouragement with the knowledge that if they can do it you can too

Welcome Fluffykat! I hope you find the support you need here. It can be difficult if you don't have 'real life' support, but coming here will hopefully help you out so much that you won't need other people's support. Maybe once they see how serious you are about it the people around you will change.
It is SO wonderful that you are so motivated this time. I found that when I started on this journey I was just POSITIVE that this was the time I was going to make it. I have never felt like that before. Since the day I started I have never doubted that I would achieve my goal. I'm not sure what the difference was, but I'm certainly glad it was there.

Hi and FluffyKat. Oh boy do I hear you on how people get fed up of hearing, I'm on a diet again. They lose faith in your ability and it kind of rubs off. I have one friend in particular who has known me all my life nearly, she doesn't live in the same country as me, so this time I haven't told her that I am dieting. I am dreaming of the day I can say, oh I'm on a diet. Then she will say, for how long, and I can say well it's been X amount of time so far, and I am now slim!!! I just wish I could see her face when I say it.
Anyway, glad you found us, you will never be wanting for support while you have all of us here.
