Ammi, I didn't think to mention that I *had* so many clothes because my sister had gastric bypass surgery about a year and a half ago and passed all of her clothes down to me as they became too big for her. We're about the same size now though, so I won't be getting anymore from her. I'm too cheap to buy many clothes for myself.

Brenda- Glad you're feeling a little better. Just keep drinking lots of water to keep that sodium from showing up on the scales. I guess it's a good thing that I don't like gaming because I don't know where I'd find the time to do it. With my personality I'd probably find it hard to quit and would want to keep playing it until I figured out how to do it. My son loves it, but I'm too old, I guess.

Lillion, Too bad you're having to work on Sunday night. I love the weight watchers menu at Applebees, even though I'm not on weight watchers. It's just nice to go to a sitdown restaurant and to know the calorie count on it. I love the tilapia there.

Misti, That was so inappropriate for the clerk to say. Don't you know she would have been unhappy if you had commented on the size of her rear end. Doesn't it seem like no matter what size you are it is hard to find clothes in your size. When I was looking for size 28 or 30, I could never find it that big. Now that I'm looking for 18 and 20, all I see are bigger sizes (at least at plus size stores). When I help my daughter look for adult small clothing, it seems to be just as hard to find. I'm an early morning exerciser too. I usually get up at 5:00 and throw on clothes and start walking. It makes me feel good all day to do it early.

Katt, thanks for the congrats. The website that I mentioned is a site where you post things you want to give away or where you ask for things you need that someone else may be wanting to get rid of. So far, I've given away two trunk fulls of my (sister's) clothing, with a third trunk loaded and ready to give away. I'm hoping that someone will have some smaller sizes they want to get rid off, but I may be disappointed. I'm cheering you on when you hit twotown. It's a great feeling. I'm also looking forward pics of the new hairstyle. I love looking at new pictures.

Patti, Yep, just forget about those bad choices and keep going. That's the best thing to do. Hope the neck is better soon.

Robwen, I'm sorry to hear about your loss and other troubles. I'm newish here so I look forward to getting to know you.

I'm looking for some before pictures, but I can't find any full body photos so far. I was really good at not getting in pictures. Hopefully I can post some later this week. Take care everyone.

Tammy would you mind sharing that website again... somehow I missed it and it is a nightmare digging through all of these multiple threads. :) I am interested!

Thanks

Sure Misti,

www.freecycle.org. You can search for groups in your area on this page and then join the ones that are near you. They also have groups in Australia and the UK, although I don't see anything in NZ.

NESSA, ya know you just reminded me of something I KNOW, but that I let out of my sight. It takes 3500 calories to make a pound. That’s how many extra I have to burn. For some reason lately I’ve just kinda lost sight of that, working on the exercise, counting the calories and watching the scale like it really was magic. There’s a science and reason. That somehow sounds stupid now that I’m writing it down, but when I read your comment to Kim it was like cuffing me upside my head. “3500 – It’s MATH Valerie.”

She’s right KIM, don’t take it to much to heart cuz it has to be that water. It should come right back down if you stay OP and exercise like you’re planning to. WOW! On your killer elliptical workout!

WOW! TAMMY – That’s so great! When you got those 33 tops, etc., I but you never really envisioned yourself as you are right now – in control, so successful in losing this weight. We all ‘dream’ of course, and wish it would go away, but you’re really DOing it & living it! I’ve thrilled for you. BRAVO!!! I’m kinda sorta going to do that this week, only I have to go through my old business clothes that I… outgrew, and see if there’s anything I fit back in to while I’m tossing some old t-shirts. Most of the old T’s and trucking clothes have worn out before I shrunk out though.

AMMI, Perhaps your ‘quorn’ is our ‘tofu’. It’s made from soy beans and is high in protein. You reminded me – I meant to cook up some more chili yesterday so I’ll get busy on that this morning. I can’t do the spaghetti noodles, but all those other ingredients are so good!

Oh, ROBWEN, I am so, so sorry about your miscarriage and other problems! I’m glad you’re back with us and it will be a pleasure getting to know you, too! What kind of plan are you using to chase away those pounds?

MISTI, that is pretty rude, but I guess people think they can say things like that because, well, either they’re just plain rude or because having big hooters is generally supposed to be a good thing in our society. We have Hooters restaurant, but you don’t see Butt Cheeks restaurant or Bootie restaurant. I just got a stupid joke e-mail the other day with a woman with mongo hooters, Dolly Parton sure has gotten plenty of attention, and anybody remember Charo? Boobs are a more acceptable topic I guess. I think I’d rather have someone comment on my boobs than on my arms or thighs, but you’re right – it’s rude and outa line.

Thanks for the kudos, those of you who said something about me turning down the pancakes. Pancakes have never really flipped my switch, but if it had been French toast – THAT would have been a different matter.

My poor little baby dog, Simon, has an appointment with the vet this morning. He’ll never be quite the same little boy again, my poor little honey. My friend is taking him in. She works for the vet, and I just hate the idea of taking him for such an ordeal, in spite of the fact that I’m a firm believer in spaying & neutering. There goes my manly little dog now…. I feel like such a traitor, like I should be protecting him instead of letting anybody hurt him. Intellectually I know he’ll be fine, but emotionally… :( :stress:

I’ve got a doc’s appointment myself today, then it’s on with the job search. Wish me luck.

I had a rider up on Gabriel (horse) again yesterday for the third time. He wasn’t really happy about it, but he’s getting there. I turned him loose for a while just to watch him move. He’s got a trot to die for. I can just imagine what it will be like to ride that – after this weight finishes coming off.

With that in mind, maybe I WILL make my a.m. workout class. I was going to put it off and take it tonight instead on the excuse that I wanted to wait until after the doctor visit, but come on – an excuse is just an excuse. What is it that THIN says about not making excuses???

nightkatt no i dont know what caused the neck stiffness i am just glad for the time its gone! Misti just overlook the rudeness of some people .. its hard sometimes though. Ammi waitng to hear from you!Liliann thanks for your kind words. Well this morning i have to try to do some damge control from the weekend! My hubby was a bad influence and i am weak lol!

toofatforu 09-11-2006 08:14 AM

thanks tammy!

Misti in Seattle 09-11-2006 08:22 AM

Good morning, everyone! Monday again!

Today I am meeting someone from 3FC for lunch... my first 3D meeting with someone here!

Valerie, tee hee about poor poor Simon. :) And yes, for the most part I do just let people's rudeness roll right on off. And LOL about the Butt Cheeks cafe. :) But big boobs are only acceptable up to a certain size... after that they are very UNacceptable. Geesh, our society sure does demand perfection, huh? :)

Tammy, yah that is wonderful about all your fat clothes going out the door! Yay for you! I am realizing I am running out of blouses, as most all my too small ones are now getting too big. I have a hard time finding stuff my size at thrift stores. Oh well I sure won't complain about it. :) I still have a closet full of too small pants and skirts. I think several pair of brand new crop pants I am going to bypass altogether as they are too small and by next summer I plan on them being too big hopefully.

Better run and get ready for work. Everybody stay OP!!!!!!! :bike:

Congratulations, Ammi! And at least now I know where the FFM is hiding out. :)

toofatforu 09-11-2006 08:53 AM

Ammi that is so great you must be floating on cloud 9 today!

ladybugnessa 09-11-2006 09:09 AM

Happy Monday Ladies... just to say monday's is my normal official weigh in day... I lost 2 more pounds. that means 34 down since May 1!

my older son was robbed at gun point last night at work.. he has Asperger's Syndrome and is very shaken... but he's ok.... I'm not sure I am.

nelie 09-11-2006 09:26 AM

Hi all,

I weighed this morning at home, a little disappointed because the scale was a couple lbs higher than yesterday morning. I know slight fluctuations occur but I was hoping when I weighed on my official scale this morning, that I'd be at 264 :) Anyway, I weighed and was at 266 which I am happy about :)

Yesterday was fruitful. I was able to finish printing all my wedding invitations (except for a few where DF owes me the addresses). The invitations are all stuffed into their envelopes and I even created and printed out detailed maps. I should be visiting the post office tomorrow to send them out :)

Lilion 09-11-2006 09:37 AM

Arrgh! Monday's stink!

It's Monday, it's raining and I NEED MORE COFFEE!

I spent 20 minutes typing a nice, wordy reply and "Internet Explorer encounted a problem and had to close" - It was sorry for any inconvenience. :p

In a nutshell -

Ammi - :bravo:

Misti and Katt - Send me your boobs, I have none of my own.

Valerie - Give Simon puppy kisses for me and tell him Mac said he'll never miss "the boys".

Nessa - Glad your son is okay.

Now I have to go!
