Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#943

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!

Well, I decided not to go away for the weekend, but it looks like my BF will go without me. He may come home early and then we can spend some of the weekend together, or he may stay depending on how things go. I am happy he is ok going by himself. I will be happy to hole up at home with my books and the some time online.

Annie – It is so cool to finally see your face! You are very pretty!

Kayley – I am the same way about buying myself things. For me, it comes from having had a time in my life when I had NO money. I tend to be ultra-conservative and make sure I REALLY want something before buying it. I almost never buy on impulse. It drives my BF crazy. I am trying to relax the reigns a bit on smaller things – not stress so much. I am glad you got something nice for yourself. You deserve it.

Melissa – Way to go not eating something you didn’t want to (although it didn’t even sound that bad). I have definitely learned to be careful about letting myself get really hungry. That is mostly when I make the worst choices. It is great to know that about yourself – when you know you can do something about it. Oh, and what a cute kitty!

Valerie – Sorry you weren’t able to have any peaches, but it was good of your dh to help you keep your promises to yourself. Why do you have to stay up with the load? Do you mean you have to drive or do you have to keep an eye on it so it won’t run away?

Tracey – I hope you have a great time at the bbq. Having lived in GA for several years I grew to really like the humidity. Since it hasn’t been TOO hot the last few days I have actually been enjoying it.

Lilion – That is a fantastic NSV. I hope you find yourself something pretty.

Ammi – The Angio-Seal is bigger than it sounds. It is just a small thing they insert to stop the bleeding that doesn’t require stitches and is absorbed by the body. I hope you have a great trip to Mumbles.

Crock – I hope you get some more money for groceries soon! Still, cereal isn’t that bad. When do you think you will hear about the job?

Does anyone talk to Julee on MySpace? Kayley maybe?

I totally overslept this morning and completely forgot to weigh in. I can’t believe I did that. Well, I can weigh in tomorrow, but I’m not expecting it to be good anyway. I am totally puffy again. I think it might have something to do with my estrogen balance going all out of whack again since the procedure. Fibroids are very estrogen active and killing it (hopefully) probably changed my hormone levels significantly. Also I am still on medication. I am good at finding excuses for why the scale isn’t being nice to me, don’t I?

Worked today, and worked out (not as long as I would have hoped for), but I really was very tired. Still am. Going to bed soon. Took pics, which always makes me depressed. Still so FAT. Guh. Looking at them really hits that point home.

Lilion - Nice NSV!

Tracey - Hope you have a good weekend before it's "back to the grindstone!"

Ammi - Determined? Not a word used to describe me very often. I am just so TIRED of being so fat still, and every minute helps! Hope you have a FABULOUS time at the Mumbles, and don't forget to wear your pedometer!

Missy - When do you think you'll be able to start swimming again?

Nancy - Sounds like you have a good weekend ahead of you. Whatever you weigh-in tomorrow, I wouldn't worry about it...you are on medication, and RECOVERING. I'm sure once you're done, you won't have gained! I e-mailed Julee on Myspace a little bit ago, to see what's up!

Kayley - Hopefully I'll be in the pool sometime next week!

Not much news ladies...I think I'm gonna grin and bear it and step on the scale tomorrow morning...and if I'm not 343 I'm gonna be so peeved! Well, we will see...It's after 11pm, and I'm jsut getting dinner now...haven't eaten since 1pm..which made my daily total about 500 calories...so at least I'm getting in something now...I'm a night owl, so it's not like I'm going to be going to sleep right after. I might be visited my parents/family on Vancouver Island eariler than I thought, so DH and I are figuring out our finances...fun....well, I'm off, I'm triple tasking here, lol!
Have a good one, and stay OP!!

Hi everybody! Wow you ladies sure can post a lot of messages in a short time! I appreciate all you share; makes me feel like I really know you!

LOL Kayley, about the boob problem. So glad yours are coming out of hiding.

Dogpal, glad you have that AC! Yah it gets pretty hot here except we don't have that much humidity so people from other places call us wimps for thinking this is that hot. Plus it helps a LOT that it gets so cool at night... lower 50s usually.

Ammi, ya I was just joking about the hissy fit. I do TRY not to do that, tee hee. Besides you are right... your threats to the fairy fat mother helped and she finally showed up this week and took away a couple of pounds. Yay! I want to hit 50 soooooooo badly!!!

Well one more day and we all get a nice weekend. I am taking Monday off so it is a long one. Yippeee!

hello all -

nothing really to report. just working and getting ready for vacation. i am going back to montana and idaho for a week. it should be a lot of fun.

ive been going back to the gym and my friend candice got a membership so we can go together. we went to yoga the other night. i LOVE yoga. love it. love it. love it. i walk taller when im done. i love feeling all stretched out. its great

today i started a batch of pineapple mead. right now its just the honey, water and yeast. in about a month we will add the pineapple to it. my friend works at a home brew supply shop and he brews a lot of different stuff. he gave me a blackberry mead a while ago, and a beautiful raspberry mead today. (for those that dont know mead is basically honey wine)

annie - its so wonderful to see your smiling face.

ammi and kayley - im so proud of your accomplishments

anyone seen catherine lately? tasha too? i know she had some hurt feelings. i hope she can join us again

i am weighing in tomorrow (provided i can make myself get out of bed).
*hugs to all*

Good Morning Ladies!

This is just a quickie. for all the well wishes and welcome backs! I just have not felt like myself lately. Lots of ups and downs. I feel like I'm on an emotional rollercoaster. lol. I think its most likely due to my hormones being all out of wack.

Its nice to have a place to come too though and get support when I need it and if I don't feel up to posting, I can just stop in say hi and read a bit too. Right now I haven't been much into "post mode" I have been trying to at least stop in and say every day but I'm not quite up to "par" yet. lol.

Well I hope you all have a Great Day!

Just a quick hello I have to get ready for work soon UGH
This is something I am not use to I am use to being home for a little while during the day , then on top of trying to get use to a new job I have to deal with closed roads, and bridges we have a lot of flooded areas and washed out roads, I am having problems finding out which roads are open and which ones are closed until you get there .....and I am driving a mini bus for a local camp it is fun getting almost to a place and finding "ROAD CLOSED DETOUR --->" and then going 25 miles around oh well I guess it could be worst I could live in the house that half of the house went down the river

I switched to a Thursday night weight in last night also and I was up 1.5 pounds but I am hoping to be going in the right direction next week I know that switching from a morning weight in to a night weight in that I would have a gain so I was expecting it

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! Weighed in this morning and I am down 6 pounds. I'm in shock. I must have been holding on to some serious water. And this is just from cutting out snacks and soda. I haven't even started really trying. Wow, those small changes really do count for something. And it really goes to show you, usually I put so much pressure on myself, stressing myself out about every little morsel that goes in. And of course, you don't want to eat just any old thing but the body just wants to be showed a little love. I haven't been pressuring myself and spending every waking moment thinking about food and how much or how little I can eat, I just made small changes not expecting any loss at all and the pounds drop. Can y'all tell how happy I am?? I am more amped than ever to start South Beach now. Imagine what will happen when I make more conscious decisions and add in exercise! 9 pounds gone forever. I have no intentions of seeing those nine pounds again because I am too tired of losing and re-gaining weight over and over again. Woohoo!! I am happy for the first time in weeks.

Okay. I weighed this morning and I am upppppp!! I knew it would be up but, I am up by 14pounds in two weeks. I think this is a mistake a litle bit but I always make myself take the highest weight out of three times. For those of you who don't remember, I have to weigh on two scales at one time because one scale won't weigh me. Because of this I always weigh 3 times and take the highest reading out of the three. My three weights for today were 481 (the 14 pound gain) 472 and 466. I am not too upset over it funny thing because I am looking at the past and seeing that 1st off I would go wacky and use this as an excuse to eat everything in site and stop exercising and this time, not gonna happen. 2nd, This is the third time we have bought a house and it is soo stressful and I would eat because of that and I am not doing it this time. 3rd. I was sick after my endulgent birthday with upper resp. infection that put the brakes to my exercise for about 2 weeks and I only ate juice, ice cream etc. So, I deserve every bit of the 14 pound gain. If I had been trying hard and eating right and still gained then you would have seen a crazy person but, not when I know what I did wrong and can correct it and I am correcting it. Next week I hope to see a good loss. I am in this for life not the quick way out. Okay, enough self pep talk. LOL.

We got the house! I am pretty happy but my hubby is soooooo excited. He is thrilled that he will be a land owner. Even if it is only 5 acres. He can't wait. That makes me so happy to see him so happy.

Ammi: You doll, thank you for all the sweet stuff about my photo. I hope you have a blast at the Mumbles. You deserve a great treat like a walk on the beach.

Patty: I knew you would be in 2 town today. I am so happy for you truly I am. I can't wait until I am in 3 town at least. Good job.

Kayley: HI and hope you are less tired now.

Lilion: Wahoo look at you in the missies sizes. Awesome

Crock: Thanks for saying I'm pretty. I sure don't ever feel pretty but you my dear are very beautiful. I love you long blond hair.

Xena: OOOO. Let me know how you like your MP3 player. I kind of want one but I don't know what to do with it. LOL. I want to be cool too. LOL

Nancy: I'm glad you decided to stay home. I think it is the best for your recovery. Take care of yourself and thanks for calling me pretty too.

MariaLucia: HI

Misti: Luckily it cools off here at night too. I have some pretty good friends that recently moved here from Seattle area. WEll, they moved here the same time we did about 8 months ago. They brought us some yummy oysters that we cooked outside awhile back.

Val, Sharon, Julee, Everyone else, have a blessed day.
