I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Just popping in before I go watch American Idol to say I had another pretty good food day. I did struggle mentally with the idea of giving in and pigging out on candy or whatever other junk I could find in the office, but I was able to hang tough and not give in. I had brought some lite microwave popcorn which is Core for just such an emergency and it did the trick. Trying to analyze why I struggled today I would have to say there was an emotional component as well as a physical one. I meet with my therapist on Tuesdays during my lunch hour and oftentimes I find myself binging either before or after my session. Obviously I am trying to stuff down feelings. The physical component is just the fact that I ate that cake yesterday. I truly believe for me that when I eat sugary things it makes my body crave more and more and more. So I think I need to give myself another day or two to "detox" from the sugar, if that makes sense. When I am fully on Core and not using my WPA's for sugary treats its like 99.99% of my desire to binge or overeat magically disappear.
Well, that's it for me. Hope to have more time to catch up on personals tomorrow but for now I MUST go watch American Idol. Go Elliot!!!!!! Ammi, I may PM you later if you want me to and let you know how our guy did.
Wow, I think I’ve missed like 5 threads! Here’s a few comments…
Zelma – holy crow, cancer! I’m so glad you got it caught early!
Mel – I loved your inspirational words to the newcomers – I think you should post that every-so-often!
Annie – Thanks for noticing the weight loss I don’t feel like I’m close to 200 yet, but I guess I am getting there. As for hubby’s job, he’s actually not starting until June. He has some well-deserved time off. And in the process, he’s doing a lot of cooking around the house!
How’s the love seat?
Valerie -- First, I’m glad someone liked my “5 C tagline” !
Second, you are absolutely, positively not a LOSER! You’re in a non-ideal situation. You cannot give up on yourself! I gave up for years and figured I’d never lose the weight, but I am getting there.
Do what you can to set a routine and plan, but don’t beat yourself up if you can’t! Make a commitment to yourself, but you have to love yourself too, you know. Glad to hear you got out for a walk!!
Ammi – I am so glad to hear you are doing so well on your new meds – not just for your weight loss, but your energy too!!
As for me, I’m getting more compliments about my weightloss all the time – and had my first “I didn’t recognize you” from someone I hadn’t seen since before I started all this.
Just a quickie to say hello and WOW these threads just flew by! lol
and... for you American Idol fans.. another WOW! Can I say Katharine BLEW me away with her second song.... and so did Taylor. FINALLY he sings Joe Cocker... JUST what he SHOULD be doing.
OK.. now that THAT's out of my system....
Heather --- NSV means a "non scale victory" meaning something that shows progress or at least good things but has is not a numbers / scale thing. Like "I fit into jeans that Ihaven't since 1998!" or "I can walk up 4 flights of stairs without passing out!" or "someone noticed!!"
Ammi... what the heck does the phrase " he really has got tickets on himself" mean?? I think I love it... but... better make sure I use it appropriately
Thanks, Ammi, Wyllen and Kayley, for commenting on my Tips for Newbies ... I started out just to do a couple of joking ones for our newest members, but I ended up playing with it a little more and had a good time writing that
Brenda--you feeling any better? Hope that nasty cold is going away so you can use the CRAP outta that CRAP machine
Zelma -- hope the stitches aren't giving you fits.
Lori-- I would LOVE to have a waterfall ... does Mike travel?? I'm only in southern Indiana... heh heh
Lillion-- good luck with that ol' weigh in... I'm with you.... I feel like I've been grazing for days.... ack... had a great WI last week, so that means I should throw caution to the wind? grrrr to me.
Yea for a great vacation, Nancy!!!! Glad you're having fun!
and YEA to all of you who are getting good results --- scale or non-scale -- yea for you!!
Tea--glad you checked in. Hang in there!
Val -- thanks for the story about your little. What a wonderful Big Sister you are! Can't wait to hear about the baby.
To everyone.... Crock -- HI! Julee--Shalom Flady, Xena-- ALOHA!
Luan, Annie, Sue, Vicki... Bon Soir! and ........ wow....... everyone ---
Wyllenn - What a wonderful comment! I can't wait for that to happen to me! Although, I've got quite a ways to go before that's going to happen! Heh. I'd really really really like to be at 220-230 by the time Christmas comes around. The family would be SHOCKED. Cuz that'd be about 120-130 pounds gone...here's to hoping!
Wow, Zelma, I missed that first post at first too about your skin cancer and praying that you are doing well.
Welcome to Heather!
I was happy today to drop another two pounds after more than a week the same... nice surprise!!! It has been so hot here... mid 80s which is really hot for this area (we are wimps when it comes to extreme weather LOL) and I hate sunshine anyway so it is hard to get my walking in but I am doing it.
Had another neat surprise today! Was looking for some casual pants and I buy men's sport pants because they don't have as big a butts or elephant legs in them. I took a pair of Mediums into the dressing room thinking yah right these will be way too small... they were too bIG and I had to go back and get smalls!! Even though they are men's I am still happy to see a "Small" tag on ANYTHING I wear LOL. They are stretch and still really snug over my stomach but another 10 pounds or so and they will be perfect! Yeeks we won't talk about what size T-shirts I had to get LOL.
Heather, my youngest is an AIDEN with an 'e', are you breastfeeding? It burns off tons of fat, ( how old is your Aidan?) have you tried those baby bouncers, I used to put my boy in his whilst I exercised, or alternatively there are exercise videos which are for mums to use WITH their baby!!! Sorry I don't know any titles though, as ever walking out with you pram/pushchair is always good. You get to show them loads of stuff & talk to them without people thinking you're crazy!!!
Valerie I cried when I read the story of your old sad horse & lil' sis.
I have to take Gareth to school, I wish I had more time to reply to people's posts, but I read then forgot who wrote what. Sorry. Tracey, we have all fallen off the weight-loss waggon at some point, me more than most, just get back OP and you'll be amazed, even after one day how much better you feel.
Kayley, you are 1/3 of the way there, you have lost so much, so quickly, maybe your body is just getting used to being normal fat, sorry, mums can be so honest, it made me laugh, but give youself a break and get some exercise in when you can, it will come off.
I have 3lbs to lose to get to my lowest weight in 4-5 years!!!!!! Hopefully it will be gone for Saturday, fingers crossed and chocolate hidden!!!!
Someone mentioned sweet cravings, have you tried good quality dark chocolate, suck 1-4 squares, SLOWLY!!!!! it really satisfies cravings and is good for you IN SMALL AMOUNTS!!!!
bye for now,
xxxsharon
Misti, I forgot to add my comments, you look about 30!!!!! how long 'til the cruise? Hope you enjoy it & its not too choppy, we went across to Egypt fron Cyprus, I was feeling pretty vile most of the time at sea!!! Here's to a calm sea/river (?) for you & good weather.
xxxsharon
It's a grey day today, supposed to have torrential rain later on, and tomorrow we are meant to have gale force winds. We were hoping to go to the beach again tomorrow, but I can't see it happening. Oh well, the next fine day we have we will go.
Flady - I am glad that the financial hiccup isn't a long term thing and that you will be ok again come Friday. That's cool that your in-laws are taking you both out for lunch tomorrow. Are you going to stay OP or enjoy a nice treat?
Val - what's wrong with eating melon? On WW it's so low in points that I often have a huge bowl of it. Yummy. Cantaloupe is my fave, don't know what it's called there, I know in Australia it's called Rock Melon. It's the one with the orange flesh.
Oh that was such a sweet story about your little sister and that ugly old horse. It sounds like something you could sell to a magazine, a short but very sweet story Any news on the baby yet?
Kayley - that's great that your mum gave you that compliment. Only mum's can get away with saying something like that and it still being a compliment That's cool that she might buy and eliptical machine too. I would love one, but I just don't have the room for one.
As for having my work cut out for me, I'm a very determined person when I want to be, so be warned So let's start off by saying that you write wonderful and interesting posts, a pleasure to read, and this place would not be the same without you!
Julee - I hope Val got in touch and that you get to meet up.
Heather - what a great start to your weight loss, well done on that 5 lb loss
NSV is a Non Scale Victory, which is anything that makes you realise you are losing weight apart from the scales saying so.
Xena - oh yes please do PM me and let me know what you thought of AI. Did Elliott do well, do you think he will make it to the final??
Sorry that you had a struggle with your diet yesterday, it's good that you were able to figure out why though, that's a good start to hopefully not having such a struggle in the future.
I know what you mean about wanting to eat more if you have eaten anything sugary. I normally buy fruit bars, they are only 1 point each, and I like to eat them in the night when I am feeling peckish. But more often than not I can't stop at one. So I know they are a trigger food for me and I don't buy them anymore.
Heather (wyllen) - wow what a buzz you must have got when you got the compliment of somebody not recognising you. I will be happy for somebody to just notice I have lost something lol, but when I get to being unrecognisable I will be over the moon
Mel - you didn't mention how Elliott did, is that because you don't rate him anyway and don't think he is in contention for the final? It's ok, you can say it, I won't hold it against you Great that Taylor sung Joe Cocker, I bet he did brilliantly too. Can't wait to see it on Friday.
Having tickets on yourself means you think you are something really special (even if other don't). My neighbour I think, thinks he is a fab banjo player, and has no hesitation in playing it as loud as he can outdoors. In actual fact you can hear everybody closing their windows when he starts So he has tickets on himself
Misti - woohoo well done on another 2 lbs lost, AND getting into the small size in the men's sports pants, a NSV and a scales victory too. Brilliant
You go on your cruise any time soon don't you? I hope you will have a fantastic time and a great birthday too.
Sharon - you know what I do to answer people's posts. I open two windows, one with this reply box in it, and one with all the posts in it that I want to comment on. If you notice the bottom of the page if you click on advance reply, it says if there are more than 15 posts and asks if you want to view them all. I always do that, which automatically opens the second window. Or if there are less replies, I just open it up myself. It's much easier than trying to remember what everybody has said
How are you doing today, have you been managing to ride your exercise bike, is it fun?
Wow only 3 lbs to lose until you are at your lowest weight in 4 or 5 years, that will be such a wonderful thing for you. I really hope that you can manage to shift those lbs in time for your next WI. Good luck
Crock - Did you watch AI, what did you think? Yahoo has really been playing up for me so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it last night. I hope I can catch you for a chat soon
Lilion - hope you are having a good day.
Nancy, Brenda, Christine, Brandnewme, Lori, Annie, Jill, Velma, HippieMomma, Catherine, Amber, and anybody else I haven't mentioned,
Good morning, everyone! Hope all of you are doing well on your weight loss plan and hanging in there!
Sharon, thanks for the compliment on my age! That will be one big disadvantage to losing weight; when all the fat goes out of my face the wrinkles will pop in there LOL but it will be worth it!!
Ammi, yes it was nice having the NSV AND a scale victory yesterday.
My niece arrives Friday night so the party starts then. We leave Sunday morning on the cruise. I did buy a bottle of dramamine so hope we dont get seasick!!
Have a good day, everyone... remember to go do your exercise!!!
Well I think I did alright this week a few small slip ups but, overall good. I've come to realize that even if I lose 1/2 lb. it's a step in the right direction.
Ammi & Kayley, both of you are very inspirational and thoughful ladies and you are diffently appreciated. Keep up with the great messages and look forward to reading more of your comments.
Howdy, strangers--I know it's been at least a week since I've been in here. I've been working SO many hours lately--last week, I worked 52 hours at my full-time job plus a bunch of hours for my part-time job from home (I don't keep track of those hours since we get paid per report, not hourly). Then this week, I'm already up a few hours, and I'll be out on Friday because Jeff and I are flying up to my parents' in CT on Thursday night (returning Sunday night). Busy week and weekend ahead, since it will not be a leisurely trip to CT--it's for my sister's wedding reception party thingy (we have a lot of family in CT, and since it is her second marriage, she didn't want them to feel obligated to travel all the way to Va Beach for her wedding, so they're having a party up there now, a month after the wedding).
I'm back up to almost 290 (I've seen the scale go up to 289.5, so I'll just call it "about" 290 ). I just can't seem to get my mindset back to where it needs to be. Blah...
So anyway, sorry I haven't been around to post lately, but I wanted to stop by and offer to anyone who needs them, to anyone doing well, and to the newbies!
Just a quick note to say HI!! I'm off to my friend's who lives in the country for a nice day on her porch facing the woods and drinking coffee!! LOL!! It doesn't take much to excite me, does it??
Kayley~ No flooding here in my area, but these rainy blah days are starting to shift my mood to blah as well... It sucks...
Ammi~ I did watch Idol, It was pretty good all of them did well. But of course I am voting for Kathryn,, I may be the only one in America voting for her but I am loyal...LOL... Elliot Sang three songs, I personally liked none of them, But the overall seemed that he shined... and Taylor OMG,, he did well on 2 of them out of three.. not to bad, huh? We shall see tonight just how well all three of them did,,and I swear Paula was on something last night,,, she is funny. YES I can see the Tickers,, since yesterday,, Yahoo has been causing me some issues yet again as well.
Valerie ~ Thank you so much for the compliment of my weight loss.. MY Aunt Margaret is here for her monthly, and between this weather and the feeling bad when she visits I feel like a Big ole Flob for the past two days,, just have been feeling really fat.. ya know?
To everyone else,, Hello and I will try to catch you at some point, as I did not take notes on what I wanted to write and touch base on..
Jill, good to see you...Teahoney, how are you doing?
