300+ And Ready to Try Again...#897

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Ammi - I'm going to find out ASAP! I'm SO impatient!!!

Sue - HI! I don't believe I've met you before! I'm Kayley, 19 years old, and following South Beach, and doing cardio! :) Look forward to getting to know you! :)

Nancy - I wish you luck bringing this up, and I hope it doesn't cause too big of a fight!

2 more finals DONE!!!! I've just got my Psych final tomorrow afternoon, and then I'm free! (More or less). This Spring/Summer, I'm just taking an open entry computer class, so I can start and finish whenever I feel like it, and I don't have to go to a class or anything. I just have to get Excel on my computer, as it's Advanced Worksheet Skills. I'll find out tomorrow about testing out of 3 classes as well. They are having some alternative ed kids at school tomorrow, and we are supposed to talk to them about college, and why it's so important...and Barbara (director of Student Services) asked me to be there, and I said yes...oi.

What a way to start off...

Hey Ladies,

Finally joined Weight Watchers tonight. I've been dieting for years like alot of us and joined WW before. The last time I joined I had gained up to 336 lbs. So, when I setup my signature for the 3FC board the way I was feeling was much larger than 336 lbs. So I had originally put 350 lbs. cause that's how I was feeling.

At weigh in tonight I'm 321 lbs. Was I shocked and very happy. So, I have updated my Tracker and shall now begin my weight loss journey. :carrot:

Well, got to go to bed wanted to get this posted.

All the best to everyone, talk again soon.

Gooooood morning, everyone!

I still have to go back and finish readin what was in the last thread, but just a quick note this morning--I still have a major case of the munchies, but I DID resist the donut yesterday! I went down to the cafeteria with every intention of buying it with all of it's frosting and sprinkley goodness, but something slightly clicked (not enough for me to walk away empty-handed, even though I wasn't really hungry), and I instead walked away with a diet pepsi and a fruit and yogurt parfait (not perfect, but at least has some nutritional value). Same thing happened in the afternoon--I stopped at Trader Joe's on my way home for the first time (MAJOR disappointment after all the wonderful things I'd heard about it), and I just SO wanted something sweet. I ended up just getting a bag of teriyaki turkey breast jerky to chew on in the car--which was chewy enough that I wasn't done eating it by the time I passed McDonald's, so it kept me from stopping there, too :p So yeah, still way more than I needed to have in a day, but I suppose it's still a slight improvement :^:

 (I just LOVE that little guy) I weighed in this morning and am down 4 pounds, which takes me past the 40 pounds lost mark. That definitely makes up for not having a loss last week. I'm off to change my ticker, but then I have to get ready and head to work so I will be back later.

:encore: Well done Nancy, it won't be long before you are saying 'bye!' to the threes!:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
I'm off for a walk to the park with Aiden, its warm & sunny so he can enjoy the swings & slide. My tummy still hurts when I bend down or over so walking is an exercise which won't irritate it, unlike curl ups!:censored:
bye for now,
xxsharon.

Hello All,

I have just come back from the hospital, nothing exciting going on, just had to go and have some blood taken. I did some shopping on the way home, and now am glad to be relaxed on my bed catching up here.

Kayley - I think I would be the same, I wouldn't be able to wait for the results. I am sure you will do really well. It sounds like you are looking forward to the last of your exams. What will you do with your free time apart from job hunt?

Elaine - good on you for joining WW, and what a lovely surprise for you to be 321 instead of the 350 lbs you thought you must be. It's a great start to a diet feeling like you have had a head start.

Cyn - I am not part of the exercise thread at the moment, so we haven't met. Glad that you are posting over here now too though so you get to meet us all :D

That sucks about the allergies, isn't there something you can take to help you with the symptoms?

Jill - :carrot: way to go. You still haven't given into the munchies, you are doing so well. Making good food choices when you really would love to be making bad ones. Will power like that should be bottled :cheer:

Nancy - 4 lbs lost, that is fantastic :cheer: :carrot: :carrot: :cheer: you must be so pleased.

Sharon - I hope you and Aiden have a lovely time at the park. I have been out today and it's been so warm, now I am worn out lol. Think I might have some lunch and then an old lady nap

I hope everybody is having a great day, bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi :grouphug:

going to lose 200 05-04-2006 09:53 AM

Hey there guys!

I'm down another 2 lbs today. Excitement! I don't have much time today to chat. I didn't get ANYTHING done yesterday and I have SO much to do today before work SO...

Kayley ~ Good luck on your marks!

Elaine ~ I hope you do well at WW.

Cyn ~ I have allergies too.... they suck!

Nancy ~ Way to go! 4 lbs is AWESOME!

Jilly ~ Good going on fighting the evil snack monster.... I went through that a couple of weeks ago and I had a very hard time resisting so I can relate. I wanted everything in sight! Make sure you drink lots of water with the jerky though!

Sharon ~ Have fun at teh park... hope you are feeling better soon! Its hard enough to diet and exercise when you are feeling fine, but when you aren't it really is a chore!

Ammi ~ Do you love to shop? I went out yesterday and bought a new outfit! I was SO happy too cause I was down another pant size!! I wore my contacts and hardly no one new me at work. People kept telling me " I didn't even know it was you" or "OK, how are you doing it?" I LOVED IT!

OK guys... i will pop on and off during the day but I really have to go.... enjoy!

Brenda

toofatforu 05-04-2006 10:45 AM

congratulations for all those with a loss today way to go keep up the good work1

AmmiUK 05-04-2006 11:42 AM

Patti - you deserve a :cheer: for staying away from those scales. Seriously I went through a stage many diets ago when I wanted to weigh daily just to see how crazy the scales could be. I had days when I was up a few lbs, then up some more, then down some, then up again, I never had the same results two days running. It was then that I decided to weigh monthly. But recently I learned that that's not good for me either because when I would be seeing I am doing something wrong by weighing weekly, I would find out at the end of a long month and it would be even more disappointing. So I am a weekly weigher now. And no sneaky peaks inbetween :D

Brenda - that is awesome, another 2 lbs gone :cheer: :cheer: That's brilliant that you bought yourself a new outfit and that you have gone down another size, well done :carrot: Is that what you wore to work when people didn't realise it was you at first? That amazing feeling of being praised by people and them noticing your weight loss is enough to keep you buzzing, and dieting until you get to goal isn't it. I am so happy for you

No I don't particularly like to shop, especially not for clothes for me because I can only go to one store, and have to wear what they think fashion dictates. Fortunately they sell a nice pair of jersey trousers (pants) and plain t'shirts, and I just have a stock of them. I do look forward to being able to shop in different clothes shops, maybe then I will have fun shopping.

Crock - where are you? I missed seeing a post from you so far today? Hope you are ok.

Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi :dizzy:

I finally went food shopping last night. No more talking about it, it finally got done. So now the house is nice and stocked with healthy food and treats.

I am so exhausted. This has been such a busy week. I had things to do today but I just couldn't find the energy to get them done. So I'm "resting" today although it's not much since my daughter is home from school now and I can't just nap on and off all day like I would love to do. Since I put off things today, I'm going to twice more to do tomorrow but it's the price I pay for "rest" and a little peace of mind.I should be able to start exercising come Sunday. Saturday is going to be a crazy day again. When did my life get so busy???

dogpal 05-04-2006 12:14 PM

SueMarie: Sounds like you have some great plans for you backyard. I'm glad that your pool has been getting used, when it's warm. I have been doing pretty well, thanks for asking. I did join Curves and have worked out there a few times now and I love it.

ammi: Yummy! How was the hot cocoa? Did it have a good flavor? I don't persoanly think Taylor looks like George Clooney but? My hubby thinks he is like Joe Cocker in his movements. So proud of you for going to get your blood tests retaken. Hopefully they will do what they are supposed to with it this time!

Teahoney: Good girl for going shopping. I bet you feel so much better having that finished.

Nancy: Good thoughts on the money situation. I think you will do well. You are aware some changes need to be made now you will just need to slowly implement them. Congrats on the -4 also.

Azcyn: Welcome to our neck of the woods. Glad to have you here.

Kayely: Good luck testing out of those classes. How wonderful that will be!

Jill: Excellent job resisting the things you were after in the caf. Jerkey isn't that bad for you. And to skip over Mc D's entirely is such a wonderful feeling. I love Taco Bell and I feel so proud of myself when it is lunch time and I pass by it to come home and have something from home. So, I know how hard that was. I'm proud of you.

Brenda: Yea! -2 Good job.

As for me, I have lost 4 more today. I will not change my weight tracker because I am still a tiny bit higher than it says. Maybe next week! It is amazing to me that i am eating so well and I still lost weight. I really think it would have been a bit more if I didn't indulge on a lemon with tons of salt last night. Bad, Bad, Bad dog.....pal.

Blessings all,
Dogpal
