300+ And Ready To Try Again...#871

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Lol, Vicki! So glad SOMEONE agrees with me on that one. I would never be conceited about it, and honestly, I feel like I'm bragging if I tell people how much I've lost so far. Weird, huh? But my ex-tormentors? Oh yes....if they f-ed me over in HS or something...they DESERVE IT!

Jeez....I'm so mean :o

Think I babbled enough tonight, Ladies? I'm about to head off here. Thinking about joining TOPS....but don't wanna go alone. UGH. NIGHT! :D

F.y. I.

Just wanted to mention real quick that if you click on the "plus size" grey button at the top of the page, there will be a whole list of clothing resourses and what type of clothes they carry. Also, by clicking through those links, the site makes a few cents when you buy something. Since there are no fees to use this website and all it's resources, it's just a nice thing to do. :)

Hello All,

I have been off the computer for a couple of days and am WAY behind on what everybody has written. So my apologies, but I won't be able to catch up on all that everybody said :(

On Monday I went to town to buy a new cell phone for Daren and I, he broke his, and I was fed up with mine lol, so we bought matching new ones. Unfortunately while we were out, we went to Starbucks, and after that we went grocery shopping and I bought far too many treats.

Tuesday wasn't much better, the kids were off school due to a strike by the Dinner Ladies, so we all went out and had lunch, I had cauliflower and cheese with chips. Then we went shoppping again, and again I bought treats I shouldn't have.

I think it was Amy who was giving herself a hard time for supposedly getting back on track and yet ended up overeating again........well Amy you aren't the only one. I have been so down about not losing weight when I have been trying so hard for the last 3 months, I just can't get back on track. I keep thinking why bother when I just can't shift the weight. I know that I could at least be semi behaved so that I least don't gain weight, and I am trying again today. Fingers crossed I can manage it. I know I won't be eating for 12 hours from about 10 pm because I am going for blood work the next morning. So maybe that will mark the start of trying 100% again.

Amy - you also answered a question of mine about how you met your BF and about you not living close to each other. How on earth do you cope with being so far away and only seeing each other on the weekends? When I met Daren, via an online dating site, we spoke for just over a month before meeting for real. Once we met we spent a week together, then he had to go home, 300 miles away, he visited again the next weekend, and then I visited him, both using the public transport system, and in between times we were both so lovesick being apart that Daren quit his job and moved in with me :carrot: I am sure you and Nat are much younger than Daren and I thought, so I can understand why neither of you are keen to jump into the marriage thing.

Kayley - :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: that is so awesome that you are finally in 2 town. What an awesome achievement. Well done.

To everybody else I say a big hello, and I will try to keep caught up with posts again.

Hugs,

Ammi :dizzy:

Is there something in the air? Lots of us are down /struggling with food,:( Summer will be here soon!!!! We NEED to be healthy, being slim is a bonus.
Ammi, glad that you are ok, I hope your tests come back good.

Hello Everyone. Just a quick post to everyone you are all doing so well. I am so happy for you.
Kayly ! YEA! I am so happy for you. I knew it was only a day or two away for you.

Nancy and Xena: love that you can relate to my bearfriend story. All of you who talk to your pets that is really great. I think my dogs understand a lot of what we say. One of them I swear she can speak some Spanish. I speak Spanish to them occasionally and there are a couple of words that I say and she will do as I ask her to.

Blessings to you all,
Dogpal

Sharon - Do you know, every summer when I can't wear clothes suitable for summer, when I am sweating buckets just standing in shops, and when I am dying to go swimming but won't be seen dead in a swimming costume, that is when I look back to the winter and think WHY DIDN'T I DIET before the summer. I think that's why I am feeling so yuck now, I did start dieting in January and got NOWHERE. You are right that a lot of us seem to be struggling, but as long as we don't just quit then at least we are still on the right track. While we can feel guilty for not being OP we at least know there is hope for us getting back on track!

Annie - just wanted to say hi, hope you are doing well.

Hugs,

Ammi :dizzy:

HI CHICKS
AMMI great to see you on, i was wondering about you. I too met my bf on line. i was in bbw room and he popped in. we met 3 days later in person. he lived in north carolina and i lived in florida. it was rough on us although he did all the commuting. we have been engaged for 2 yrs:eek: wow didn't seem that long. i just don't won't things to go wrong. i was married for 10 yrs and it was terrible, we fought on our wedding night:yikes:.

AMY~~~Don't beat yourself up too bad, i'm still not on plan from the weekend. I'll be on plan all day and in the evening i let myself get so hungry. i could actually eat the hind legs off a hobby horse:fr:. keep your head up, go back to Curves. Start each day over again. That's what i do everyday.

I had a very stressful day yesterday, our neighbor is giving me so much grieve about my 4 legged babies. i say me because he does not have the umm.......**lls to approach Chris with this so called problem he has invented in his head. He is saying that my babies are using the bathroom in his yard which they are NOT. I know this because one of us is always with them. they are never alone. we one 1/2 acre lot. this old man is making me crazy.oh i forgot the best part he calls animal control reports DOGS RUNNING LOOSE in the neighborhood. they are loose under my supervision, in my yard for approximately 10 to 15 min, if that. I see a fence in my future.
enough steam blowing. have a great day!

MaryAnne - I am so pleased you found your BF via the BBW chat rooms. I have a friend who uses those rooms and poor woman has been caught out so many times by scam artists. They make her think they are in love with her, say they will fly out to the US to meet her, always via another country for another purpose like Turkey or Africa. Then they supposedly get mugged, or don't get paid in cash but money orders that they can't cash in that country, so they are stuck there unless she sends them the finances to get out. Can you believe it. I am glad you have a positive story to tell about your time in the BBW chat rooms.

I hear you on the bad marriage thing, I was married before for 9 years and it was a nightmare, it's when I put the majority of my weight on. By the time I met Daren though I had been on my own for 5 years, and knew from the start that we were soul mates, so there was no need to hang around. He moved in in the January, we got engaged in the May, and married in the November :D

Sorry to hear about that old codger making false complaints about your dogs. Some people aren't happy unless they are causing problems for somebody. I am sure if the powers that be come out to investigate they will see how you supervise your dogs and how they listen to you and then the old codger will have to eat his words. I watch too many forensic shows lol, but if push came to shove you could get the 'mess' on the blokes lawn tested, and a sample from you dogs to prove the 'mess' isn't theirs. All at the old guys expense of course :D Good luck with it all.

Hugs,

Ammi :dizzy:

Mary Anne, what an old grouch your neighbour is,:( I'd be tempted to report a senile old man wandering around near your house or for being a 'peeping tom'!!! :joker: I wish my hubby was into bbw. He always wants me to lose weight, he was very sporty, hang gliding, squash, tennis & table tennis. The only squash I do is to fit into my clothes! His two exgfs were slim & sporty too. How long before your guy moved in? my hubby lived 5-6 miles away but he moved in after 3 months coz I missed him at night.
Ammi, so glad to 'see' you again.
Where are you Jilly Bean?:?:
Gotta go,
keep well everyone,
xxsharon:grouphug:

AmmiUK 03-29-2006 07:27 AM

Sharon - lol at what you said about the only squash you do is into your clothes :D  I have to remember that one.

As for your hubby, he kind of reminds me of my first hubby, he married me when I was in his words 'a fine figure of a woman', he wasn't happy at all when I gained weight. Thank God Daren met me just a couple of stone lighter, if anything he will be worried when I do lose weight in case too many men start chasing me

Hope to chat with you soon,

Hugs,

Ammi

Greetings!

OMG! I missed a whole thread! I don't know how I did that...you girls are like the WIND!

I only skimmed the last thread, so forgive me if I miss something important. A few things I wanted to address....

Kayley! You GO Girl! :bravo: and an obscene carrot! :carrot: Not only making the 2's but blowing those 3's away! Don't feel bad about wanting to show up your dad...it's human nature. When I divorced my ex I dropped 40+ lbs and one day he came to see the kid and made a remark about how good I was looking - I responded, "Yeah, amazing what you can do when you are happy with your life." SLAP!

Julee ~ Our own little stand-up girl! Very brave of you. I have to admit, I've considered doing that myself...I figured between fat-girl, ex-husband and lawyer jokes I'd have a lot of material! But I suspect I'm not as funny as I think I am! :joker:

Amy ~ (and Brenda and Ammi and everyone else that's struggling!) Getting back on track is what it's all about! None of us got to 300 by eating LJS one time. We did it by never going back to being healthy! Heck, I stumble all the time, just get back up, dust yourself off and start again! You can do this. :cheer:

MaryAnne: Are you new or did I just miss you for weeks? If you are new - :welcome2: Your neighbor sounds like a peach of a guy...just be careful he doesn't do something bad to your babies...old guys get weird about their lawns!

Well, on my diet front today is WI day! I walked in saying "I feel skinny today!" and the scale said 242.2! :cb: And that was needed to pee! I usually lose between 8 a.m. (which is when I weighed) and noon - so I'm gonna do it another time or two - and take the lowest of course! ;) But I'm psyched! I might make that May 1 goal after all!

Totally didn't want to last night, but did the  eliptical for 12 minutes - can't seem to get more than that - and some stretches and such. I'm feeling my little 5 lb hand weights! Sad, really sad, that using 5 lb dumbells is a real work-out for me! :faint: I'm feeling muscles I forgot I had!

Well, I need to go. Much to do and less time to do it! Have a good day ladies!

Maria Lucia – Walden Pond is in my hometown of Concord, MA – very cool place!

Amy – I think one of the first steps is forgiving ourselves when we reach for something that we wish we wouldn’t have. So you ate something not so great. So what? The real question is why – convenience, stress, anger, etc. But defintely try to not beat yourself up about it. From my experience that never helps! Also, you might try and keep some things around that you can grab on the go. I love Luna bars and Kashi rolls, which are less than 200 calories and have a good balance of carbs and protein and keep me going until I have the chance to get something else.

Ammi – Don’t worry about catching up – we’re just glad you’re back. Same thing goes for you as for Amy – don’t beat yourself up about past indiscretions. Every day is a new day.

MaryAnne – I also met my BF through the BBW scene, which as I have posted before is now a bit of an issue since he is an FA. How is your BF doing with your weight loss efforts?

Yesterday at lunch we went to an Indian place. I had my meal all picked out – a dosha and a bowl of dahl (lentils – a reasonable lunch I thought) but the place didn’t serve dohsas during the day – argh! So instead I got the buffet, and everything was so good that you know what happened – I overate! The only consolation I have is that my body seems to be adjusting to better hunger signals since I didn’t feel hungry until about 11pm. However, then I was really hungry and I ended up going over my calories for the day by eating a noodle bowl and then a bowl of cereal. I haven’t been under one day this week – several were only a couple of calories over but others were 100 to 350 over. Oh well – c’est la vie.

I have literally seconds to scan and post...

Happiness is waking up with your nose pressed against a puppy forehead, and puppy ears spread across your pillow.

Teahoney, I understand the deal on being bummed out about a few pounds sneaking back on. I'm just coming thru that myself. It was especially hard being bummed out on the truck for so long, but we will all hang together and get thru the rought spots. I hope you find a dress as pretty as u deserve!

Lilion - getting my Masters in Human Resource Mgmt

Brenda & Amy & Whom-it-may-concern, I been struggling too! We just need one good day to get us back on track. To fall off is human, to get back on track is... skinny making.

Amy, actually I caved at the end and decided to get a cinnabon, but just as I went to get in line 3 more people beat me and I didn't have time to wait. So someone was looking out for me. Later that day stopped at Wally-world and stocked up on broccoli salad - they even made me a batch without those high cal raisens!

Big smiles ladies!! We're back in OH, but now it's down to KY and up to IN. $$$. I'll try to catch up on everything later, cuz I know I missed lots!!!
