We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.
We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...

WELCOME!
I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.
There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!
Hahaha...I'm such a dork. I closed the last thread, and the submitted my post on it! LOL...talk about brain fart. So here we go...
Amy - Haha...I work in a nursing home, and I work in the Alzheimer's wing. Talk about nonstop fun! Glad you aren't taking it badly...your falling off plan...and just hop back on, and it'll all be better! Andrew and I are the saaaaame way. We are both far too young to get married. I'm 19, and he's 21. I'm still in college, and he's planning to start maybe in the fall. We've talked about marriage, and he's even asked me what kind of wedding I want, and such...he even did research (BIG SURPRISE TO ME) about outdoor weddings around here, and how much they cost! I've already asked him to marry me, and he's asked me...lol, but it's nothing official, and there will be a "real" proposal when we are ready.
Brenda - Do NOT NOT NOT give up! As you said yourself, you have come TOO FAR! It's hard sometimes once you've fallen off, to get back into that habit, but I know you can do it! You've lost 68 pounds!!! You're GOING TO BE A SUCCESS!!!
Luan - I used to LOVE Torrid...back when they were REALLY Torrid...lol. Like when they first came out, they had a lot of edgier clothes for big girls, and I loved it. Although, I do like some of the things they have now, just not so much as I used to.
Valerie - Lol, your post reminded me of a sportscast! Possible career there!
Tracey - I can't even IMAGINE having to buy a dress! I didn't go to prom or anything like that. Another reason I wanna be slim(mer) by the time I get married. Try Fashion Bug maybe? Although, actually, I think their CUTE dresses only go up to like size 18 or something...so not fair!
Lilion - I'm sure you're not boring, Ms. Ren-Faire! :P
Well, ladies, it's OFFICIAL! I weighed in this morning...after looking about 20 times to make sure I was accurate....at....drumroll....
295!!!! FINALLY! The plateau is broken, and I saw the 2's.... Haven't seen them since I was 15/16! Thanks for all the congrats, guys!!! I really feel on top of the world right now! I'm no longer 300+!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Sorry bout that...lol
I will be back later, but I just wanted to say . . .
Congratulations Kayley!!! Way to go on getting into the 200's. That is so great!
After our talks this weekend (including me saying we needed a bit more romance/outside the routine stuff) my BF asked if he could come take me to lunch today (he got the day off since he worked over the weekend). So my normal post time is taken. I will try to post tonight, but I got sucked into that cheesy fantasy mini-series on sci-fi channel, and between that and American Idol it will be a full tv night. Maybe I will just tape the sci-fi thing . . . we'll see.
Someone mentioned having IBS or tummy troubles or was it someone's hubby? Try food combining, that's fruit in the am before anything else, meat & veg 2 hours minimum between anything else or veg & rice/starches NEVER starches & meat/protein. Leave at least two hours between meat & starches, fruit and anything else, it sounds a bit weird BUT it works for me, I had terrible IBS , oh bread, of any kind is not really allowed and wholegrain/brown varieties of rice/bread (if you are naughty) and pasta.
Oh, food combining! My g/f SWEARS by it. She did it sometime after she had her daughter and eventhough losing weight was NOT her reason for doing it (she is 5'3 and weighs 120 on a bad day!), she managed to lose weight anyway. She was a stay-at-home mom then, so it was real easy for her to do it. Or at least, her excuse for not doing it any more is that now we run this business and she works all the time.
Still, she's been "selling" me on it since we've started dating...LOL...after a year and a half, I'm STILL not inclined to follow it. Simply out of laziness...but I have agreed to read the book so now she just has to find it! LOL
Her perserverance has paid off, though. L's convinced me to start my morning with a piece of fruit and since the commute into work takes me more than 20 minutes (on a bad day, MUCH MUCH more), by the time I get to the office I'm ready for breakfast.
I don't know if the food combining will help with your irritated bowels, but just eating fruit in the morning (on an empty stomach) and waiting at least 20 min to eat breakfast has proven to be GREAT for my digestion.
No, let's be clear, I am not advocating that you ONLY eat fruit in the morning. One needs a healthier breakfast than that. But eating fruit, waiting 20min, then having breakfast is, like Maaartha would say, "a good thing!" :-)
Check out sizeappeal.com. They are a fun website with very cute clothing and also formalwear. It's mailorder but the prices seem reasonable. I have never ordered from them but I have found some really pretty dresses there.
KAYLEY!!!!! YAY FOR YOU!!!!!
I'm not anticipating wondrous things tomorrow night..but whatever. last night I was out at open mic night with my friend Wendy and we were hungry so we decided to get a basket of fries....they seemed to be the lesser of all the evils (compared to the wings and cheese sticks) but we kept joking about what we were going to "not" eat...so on our check the guy charged us for "Not Fries". Nice!
I am now working on trying to write and getting my courage together...I am going to actually try to do a short bit of standup in a week or so. My friend Abbey went up and I said I'd do it too. I have no aspirations of doing anything with it...it's just to say that I did it. Yikes...I actually do like public speaking though and am pretty comfortable on a stage. I do sing karaoke a few times a week....so we'll see. I know that I am funny in general...just not sure about being funny on command.
I actually found something in Cosmo a few months back with guys giving their favorite turn ons and fantasies in bed....it was SOOOOOO clear that these guys were either morons, had never really been with a woman in that context or were askd a different question and they used the response in that format...I sort of want to base my routine on that..and on how clueless these guys sound and what their responses really mean...it's a work in progress.
Just a quick hello. I come in to read all the time but I usually can't post a lot due to time constraints and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by NOT mentioning them so a lot of the time I don't say anything. I'm also usually behind by a couple of threads too, which doesn't help, and I'll be honest--I hardly ever go back to the previous threads. There's just so much a dolfin can do girls.
Anyway-- Kayley--it feels WONDERFUL to break that "3" barrier, doesn't it. I am so, so happy for you. Sweetie, you're an inspiration to all of us so you keep it up. I am so proud of you and want to say a big CONGRATULATIONS!
Julee--that sounds so brave--doing stand up I mean. I'd be terrified. Don't worry about one basket of "Not Fries"--they won't kill you unless, of course, you eat a basket a day.
I have to go take my dog out. She's whining at the bottom of the stairs. Sorry I can't comment more, but she'll pee on the rug if I don't go.
Thank you ladies so so much! An inspiration! That's so strange to hear about ME of all people! OI!
I TRIED ON A BATHING SUIT TODAY...oh my. Although, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm going to hold off on buying one until around the end of June, so hopefully some more of this weight is gone, so I can get a nice one that fits alright....
CONGRATULATIONS KAYLEY!!!!!!!!!!!I know how much you have wanted to see those 2s and now you have not only 'touched' on the 2s, but you are waving goodbye to the 3s from a distance! Well done!!!! I can just picture the smile on your face all day.
Sorry I haven't been posting much, but my best times for catching up are weekends. Perhaps this evening though, as our school meeting has been put off till next week.
AH... cheers to you Kayley --- we just KNEW it would happen soon.. and when it did, you SLAMMED that door on the 300s!
Julee, Julee! our very own comic! let us know exactly when you're doing it -- we'll be sending good (and funny) vibes your way what was the Cosmo thing and just how moronic were they? Lots of fertilizer for a comic, I'm guessing
I woke up this morning an hour before my alarm and my brain just started spinning with all I have going on at work and all I have to do... so... I gave in to it, and just went into work. Was nice to have the office to myself since no one else got there until 8 --- but it was fast paced once they did get there. I really love the people I work with... I'm really lucky that I have a good work environment. But boy.... there's no end in sight for many months. Good thing I do like my work, eh? So, I'm not really whining.. well, maybe just a little.... just rambling on.....
So-- rather than rambling and boring you all to death--- I will just wish you all a great night/day... and go get some laundry going --- I know you're all jealous of my fun evening, now, aren't you??
