Kayley - LOL thanks. it has to be since it was such a small gain.
Honi - i drink the slimfast optima shakes. they arent the best thing i have ever tasted, but they are pretty good, and a good way to get some protein in the morning. they have 50% of the sugar and more protein than the normal SF shakes. |
kayleystar-- Thanks. I'm torn about the matter personally. Not that I ever want to lose Kaitlyn, and I think she is better off with us, but I think it's about time her mother grew up and took responsibility of something instead of staying drunk, working part time and sleeping around. Kaitlyn isn't even my brother's daughter, shes his stepdaughter but he has been paying for and taking care of every aspect of her life for over a year and a half (okay he paid I just did the taking care of lol) and her mother has given him a total of $30 to help raise the two kids (both girls are her natural children but she only acknowledges Kaitlyn) in that year and a half. grrrrrrr I'm sorry...I hate to get started on her...
I saw your post on the exercise thread, and I've seen you mention it before, but do you like the dance off the inches video? Is that the actual name of it? Is it low impact? Is it real difficult moves? It's always sounded interesting, and I have looked at a few, but didn't know anything about them, but the girls might like to dance around and then I could actually get another workout in with them awake. |
princesspuffypants-- (Is that what you prefer to be called? I'm sorry I don't know everyone here...). I've never tried the optima shakes, I liked some of the optima bars, and I tried the strawberry...but I don't know I may try it again. I don't think I need anymore to drink in the mornings though lol. In the first hour I am at work I drink a cup of coffee, part of a diet coke and a liter of water...and whn I go to the bathroom I have to take 11 2 yr olds and line them up sitting against the wall of the bathroom *lol* that's a sight too...

Honi - you can call me Luan :) first off.... drop the diet soda. even tho its diet its HORRIBLE for you. same as the coffee. altho i LOVE coffee, i save it for special occasions such as going out with friends. im sure its just for the caffeine boost, but if you get something in your stomach that has some nutritional value, then you wont need as much caffeine. i just find that it makes me not hungry and i can finish it in 3-4 good solid big gulps if i dont want to taste it. i like the chocolate royale one tho, im not a big chocolate person, but that one tastes pretty good.

Honianangel - It's sad that she doesn't even ACKNOWLEDGE her other child! Some people just need to be beat! (eeps...sorry if that sounds...harsh?) But I commend you both for taking care of her when even her own MOTHER won't. As for the dvd, it's a bit daunting at first, but once you get the moves down, you're set...and even LEARNING them you build up a sweat just trying to keep up with them! The one that I have ("Calorie Blasting Party") has a warmup, cooldown, and 4 other dance routines. Runs about 50 something minutes altogether. I like it...it really gets me moving and sweating, and it doesn't FEEL like a workout, because you are just dancing! It's pretty high impact. It's the only workout dvd that I have at the moment, and I'll definately keep using it! :)

Luan-- AHHHH so you are Luan... :) I tried to give up caffiene once...and only once...and it was horrible!!!!!! lol. I spent years drinking a 3 liter of Coca cola a day...and I tried to stop cold turkey two years ago. I was convinced that I couldn't drink diet coke, it tasted horrible, so I tried to just quit the coke altogether. I wound up so sick...migraines from ****, sick to my stomach...omg the withdrawl was astonishing...so, I started drinking diet coke. I don't know that I can give it up at all. I'm going to have to consider that.
Kayley-- Yeah, she's a witch.... And the DVD sounds fun, I'll have to look and see if I can find one like it. I do one of the walking ones, and I have a couple that I need a step for, but I don't the step I need and I think they are pretty advanced, but I can't wait to try them when I get the step. But I need something that I can do with the girls awake because when I get home I have about two hours before I have to put them to bed and I need something I can fit in while dinner is cooking or on the weekends while they are awake...something.... |
The dvd only costs about 10 bucks at Meijer. So it's a good investment that's for sure! And you can just do one routine if you want, since it's broken down into chapters on the menu. Just make sure you do the warmup, or you might hurt something! lol
|
Kayley-- can I shop at Meijer online? I've never heard of it...
|
Yeah, you can shop online, but you might want to try a department store you have down there. :)
|
ok, thanks...now I'm off to bed. I hope you have a good day tomorrow.
|
honi - try ebay. ive seen it there for about 5
|
Well, chicks, it's off to bed for me! I'm BEAT! Hope you all have a great rest of your night!

Crock - I tried Phase 2 for about 2 weeks and I lost 1 pound. So I am going back to phase 1. I overdid the carbs when I was on phase2, I was really calorie couning; but, apparantly that does not work for me.
I will be happy to lose weight however I can short of amputation. Fast, slow, just so long as it is a loss! Although I prefer fast. I am worried about my belly flap and my tricep chicken fat. I want everything to suck back up where it belongs but I dont know if that is possible at my age and condition. I did 4 miles WATP tonight for the first time, boy am I pooped and sweaty. One of my cats has a urinary tract infection so I have been doctoring him with his medicine. He is asleep on my bed right now. I hate to have to distrub him by me getting in the bed because he will leave. I move around too much for his comfort zone. Kayley - how successfull have you been by staying in Phase 1?? has the weight loss continued to be fast or has it slowed down as your body adjusts to the change?? Hello everybody else, I hope you are all well and losing! or at least maintaining with the TOM fluctuations taken into account and all that. |
Honiangel, sorry to hear you are having a rough time, at least you are trying to keep op and fit, just think of what you are doing for those girls, you ARE their mum, and I bet every cuddle makes it worthwhile. That selfish immature b***h :censored: is missing out on them, they aren't missing out on anything, in fact I bet they're GAINING a stable, loving home, so be proud of yourself, and of course your bro,:carrot: lots of guys would never take on another man's child.
Garnet, I know what you mean about 'hangy' saggy tummy and 'ckicken' arms, mine are quite huge and getting floppier by the day, even though I exercise using a resistance band, with exercises just for the arms, along with aerobics and crunches, only time will tell if we end up toned or looking like Shar Peis (wrinkly, oriental dogs)!!!:lol3: TOM hasn't arrived yet, it looks like my op. on Monday may have to be cancelled, :tantrum: it is making me so stressed, I want it over so I can recover & get the all clear & so I can do the applications & stuff for moving to New Zealand.:stress: Hope you are all well & OP. xxxsharon.:grouphug: |
Brenda, believe it or not, Yes, the cravings do pass. I was astonished, but I think that THE reason I'm finally being successful is the 14 days I spent bread & white food free showed me what "normal" was for the first time in my life. Before I was always on a diet, now I can finally tell the difference in my own body depending on what I put in it, and now I can listen to it - partly because I choose to, but also because for once it's not screaming "feed me! Quick, find a ho-ho!" the way it always did on a diet that included high carbs. I found it to be really important to stick with it closely, and when I added bread etc in after 2 weeks I did it too quickly. WHAM, I could feel the cravings coming back, and suddenly I was fondling Pepperidge Farm cookies again. Hopefully you'll get in tune with your body, and you'll develop tastes for things other than bread. Once you get the hang of it it's really not hard... except for holiday time of course.
Dogpal, SO good to see you! I hope all is well! Crock - what a great idea! Why didn't I think of it before? Jello powder in my yogurt. I've been trying to increase my gelatin intake for a couple months to improve my nails, and most ways other than just jello have been really gross! Thanks!!! Kayley, Quote:
honiangel, I hope you're able to hang on to that baby girl. Sounds like she needs and deserves you far more than her mother deserves or appreciates her. Poor kids always seem to get stuck in the middle. Usually I'm a big defender of personal rights & freedoms, but sometimes I think birth control should be mandatory until a person shows that they're capable of being a parent. I know, I sound insane, but you know what I mean. Garnet, Princess, VooDoo, and everyone, I hope you know I'm happy to read your posts & rooting for you everyday!! If anyone has a spare moment to think or bow your head, I just heard that my neighbor died suddenly, collapsed with her 10 day old baby in her arms and her 15 yo found her too late. She leaves behind her husband and 11 children. I'm glad they have a strong church and community connection and are getting lots of support for now, but how is that man to raise all those kids alone? On top of it all they were home schooled, so now there'll be that dramatic change in their lives, without their mama. My heart goes out to the daddy & his kids. I just mention it because it makes my heart heavy, and it gives me cause to realize how precious life is and how lucky I am. |
