Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#833

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Nancy - I'm glad that you and your boyfriend were able to have a talk. Hope things are better now.

Christine - I just started using fitday.com to track everything, and I like it a lot. Helps me figure out what I'm eating too much of! For the most part, the residents are great...but you're right...some of them...well, it just makes me sorta GLAD I'm not working full time there! They are a trip, that's for sure!

Luan - At least you had fun though, right? Just hop back on the wagon!

Tashabella - It's good to see you again! Good luck at the Mammogram!

Well, I'm just at the computer lab, waiting for my classes to start. I've got about another hour before I've gotta head down there. Finally weighed in this morning, and I'm only down 2 pounds. But it's better than GAINING, right? I also reset my ticker for St. Patrick's Day...I wanna see 299!!! WOO HOO!!! I CAN DO THIS! My BMI is also down a full 8 points. Had a NSV on Saturday. My hoodie zipped up, and it was COMFORTABLE!!!! I hope you are all doing well, and having a great OP day!!!!

On the last thread, people were talking about mercury levels and fish. The Chicago Tribune did some in-depth testing of fish in the US recently, and I am linking to an article that reports the results below (there was a whole series, and if you google, I think you will find more info). On the one hand, it's kind of scary -- especially if you like tuna. But I think the people who are at the most risk of mercury poisoning are children (and pregnant women perhaps too). I think it's important to have the information, but not to overdo the worry.

Brenda - You're moving right along!

Garnetfairy - I eat eggs everyday...lol. But I variate. One morning I have scrambled, and the next day fried. I got a recipe for mock pancakes off the SBD forum, but I'm a little hesitant. I'm quite a picky eater. Sometimes, I'll have one of the Atkin's meal replacement shakes. They are SB approved.

Heather - CONGRATS on getting under 300!!! That's so great!! 40 pounds in a MONTH...wow!

Wyllenn - Luckily, I don't eat fish...of ANY kind. Blah.

So, I want to go to this concert in Chicago on April 1st, and I proposed an idea to Andrew. If he'd buy the tickets, and pitch in half way on gas (since he has a GOOD paying job), I'd drive. (It's about a 2 hour drive)....and he AGREED!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!! Now, I just have to see about getting the tickets!

I eat tuna every day for lunch.. never fails. I thought I had read somewhere that you would have to eat more than one can of tuna per day to get the mercury poisioning though.. not sure about that though

I don’t have much time tonight, but I just wanted to thank everyone for their responses. Sometimes the most important thing is just getting something out and talking about it. It has helped me put things into perspective. It is definitely an “I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it” mode. I feel like I am making a bigger deal out of something that may end up working itself out.

Wyllen - That is so true about making assumptions. I tend to over think everything and put thoughts in peoples’ heads.

KC Lynn – I had to choose something that allowed me to eat anything I wanted (in moderation of course). As soon as I say I can’t have something I crave it intensely. The only way I was able to stop binge eating was by not denying myself anything. So calorie counting works for me, although some people find it way to tedious.

Tashabella – I recently had a mammogram done – not my favorite thing in the world, but it must be done. That is one thing it is nice to have some extra flesh for. It hurts when they squeeze those plates, but it must be even worse for small chested women.

Also, I really got a kick out of “Love can fade. A heart attack lasts forever.” That is so true. I definitely will not sacrifice my health for anyone. I am shooting for a weight I feel healthy at, and when I get there, then I’ll see where the chips fall.

Kayley – Congrats on being down another 2! You will be seeing the 2’s in no time.

Heather – that is incredible, but I am glad you are being monitored by a doctor. I would be somewhat worried otherwise. That is a lot to lose so quickly – you must really be feeling a difference!

MsCrockett – I LOVE snow days. However, I needed to be in the office today so I had to dig myself out. I figure I got some good exercise in this morning getting the car cleared out.

Well, dinner is almost ready. I should get going. Hope everyone had a great day.
