Hi all,

Congrats to all the loosers. Welcome all new people. I am finally feeling a bit better now.

Catherine: Congrats to you. I bet you were radiant! I can't wait to see pictures. I hope that your honeymoon was wonderful. Looking forward to your posts again.

Blessings to you all,
Dogpal

AmmiUK 01-19-2006 03:44 AM

Good Morning All,

I am so tired this morning, not surprising as I didn't end up going to sleep until about 4 am and it's only 8.15 am as I write this. Hubby is taking Beth to school so I will stay awake until he comes home. I think we will have breakfast then, and then it's the usual back to sleep for me at least. Am not sure if he will want to play on his online game. Depends how much he has woken up in the fresh air,

Felicia - what book did you end up choosing, or will you choose for your workout today? Kudos to you for finding a way to keep that book steady and working off those lbs.

LAnne - Please do tell me how you get a quote from one thread like you did from 808 and put it here on 809. I haven't been able to figure that out and it would be so much simpler sometimes if I did know.

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks Biggest Loser is a bit extreme. And yes Celeb Fit Club does seem far less like boot camp when you watch it lol. I do watch both, and we are currently watching the US version of Biggest Loser, the second series I believe. The one where the girls are against the boys. In this episode two of them ended up in hospital. One with an asthma attack, and the other was having chest pains or something. They are definitely pushing them too hard this time if you ask me.

Catherine - so glad to hear from you and that the wedding and your honeymoon went well. I was all smiles when I read about how you could barely speak at the wedding and were nearly in tears. Daren and I were exactly the same, so much so that when we spoke to the minister before the ceremony and he asked us if we wanted to say our vows or just say I Do, we chose the latter. There is no way either of us could have done more than that without crying. I am glad you managed your vows though, and I can believe that you were radiant and that you deserved that compliment. Getting married to your soul mate is the most awesome experience. Congratulations

Kayley - that's great that you enjoyed your Criminal Justice class. It sure does sound like it's going to be really interesting especially with all those guest speakers lined up.

Thanks for sharing your story about how long you have been overweight for. You should be proud of yourself that you have decided to do something about it now while you are still young. Not like me who is in 37 and still trying to get the weight off.

Personally I was a skinny child, I could eat what I wanted and not a lb did I gain. I used to tease my brother who was overweight, I know, rotten of me. But I soon got punished for that. I hit puberty and by the time I was 16 I had a pear shaped figure and was a size 18. It's funny because looking back to that time I used to think I was huge, oh to be that huge again  Anyway I left home at 18 and got a job, so had money to spend on all the bad foods my mum had been trying hard to keep me from, so gained more weight. By the time I got married I was 196 lbs (I was 21) By the time I had Beth I was 224 lbs (age 23) and then the weight just kept piling on. Mostly due to the marriage going bad, but also because by then I was in a habit of eating what I wanted when I wanted. So now here I am at 329 lbs and fighting to stick to a diet so I can finally feel human and healthy again. You really must stick to your guns Kayley and lose the weight now, I am sure you will do it. I wish I could turn back the clock and not even put the weight on in the first place, but then don't we all!

Katie - Thank you for telling us a bit more about yourself, no need to be shy here, a more approachable friendly bunch of ladies I think you would be hard pushed to meet.

I hear you on the night time snacking thing. I can go right through until about 11 pm and I am doing good. But then the longer I am awake the more I am thinking, I want to eat. I give in and break my diet mostly at night time. Last night I went over my points, but did it eating mixed roasted seeds. So it was naughty but good for me, moreso than eating a bar of chocolate. So I don't feel too bad. Today I am back to being a WW angel, and I am going to try really hard to have an early night!!

Like Kayley you are at a good age to decide to get control back of your life, and I am sure you are going to get that extra weight off and you can enjoy your dancing again, and you can look forward to playing with the kids and in due course seeing your grand children. You have wonderful reasons to lose the weight, so go for it :carrot:

Luan - that is awesome news that you lost another 4 lbs. Well done :cheer: When you get back on track you really do get back with a vengeance :carrot:

Dogpal - so lovely to hear from you, I missed your posts. Are you totally better now, whatever you had it sure did knock you for six didn't it? Glad you are back with us now.

Sharon (voodoo) - am not going anywhere today so hopefully will be able to catch you for a chat later.

Zelma - how are you today, hope the weather isn't too hot for you over there.

I hope everybody has a great day. You are all my inspiration, every time I think of going off track I think of coming here and owning up. That is hard enough to do, but even harder when I read about how well everybody is doing. So I keep on keeping on, we are going to lose this weight together.

I will undoubtedly be back again later, until then have a great day and bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi :grouphug:

Catherine ~ I'm so happy for you. Thanks for sharing your joy with us.

Hi, everyone else. Can't say, but wanted to say hi.

voodoo1 01-19-2006 07:22 AM

Just a quick line, Ammi, glad to see you're back, Catherine BIG congrats on the wedding, can't wait for the pics.
No time to answer any other posts, just took son to Doc's AGAIN, he is quite ill and hubby is being an a***hole, having a drink when he gets in from work (on nights) and at the moment I could easily go upstairs and suffocate him with a pillow!!! No need to say I ate 1/2 a bar of (organic, lol) chocolate!! I could use a drink too but as it's only 12 noon and I'm on a HEALTHY eating/ lifestyle thing I will not have any, AND of course, I am caring for my two small boys. I had to give Gareth, the autistic, ill one, a suppository, which he hated, no wonder he loves his Dad, I'm the one who has to give him all of his meds.
Sorry for the moan, I feel a bit better getting it off my chest, hope I haven't bored you all!!
best wishes and thanks for 'listening',
xxxsharon.

Happy Thursday Chickies!

I don't have much time here, but had to stop by!

Catherine! I bet you were a radiant bride indeed! I'm so very happy for you! I didn't nearly cry at my wedding to DH - I WEPT! We're talking sobs and running nose, the works! I was SO incredibly embarrassed and kept wishing someone would interupt the service long enough to hand me a tissue. Now - DETAILS! Come on...how was the honeymoon with the mirrors on the ceiling! :o More importantly, we all are chomping at the bit for those pictures!

Congratulations to the losers this week!

Hello to the newcomers! Most people will take the time to welcome you personally, but I've got to run!

Have a happy, healthy OP day Chickies! :D

I loved our chat as well. I hope you get a lot out of your Reiki treatments and I hope that the dieting stuff we talked about works for you!

I haven't seen any of the pictures yet. Everyone has been leaving us alone for the time being. His mother did call, that night if you can believe it. She wasn't up to the trip to the wedding. She had already talked to his sister who was at the wedding, and the official word was that I was radiant. I've never heard that word used to describe me before. I was so nervous. I almost couldn't speak, and then almost started crying. He laid such a big kiss on me, that he knocked my veil and headband nearly off, and I almost fell over backwards. When I said, "Austin honey you've got to let me breath" in my best Southern Belle drawl, everyone started laughing.

It sounds absolutely lovely Catherine! I can feel you "radiate" in your post! I would love to see pics as well! Congratulations to you husband for choosing such a lovely lady to share his life with!

See, I am the exact opposite. I would need Bob (Bob, you listening?) to be in my face b/c I won't push myself because I have spent so much time "being cautious" due to my size. Example: My knees are shot. Easily understandable. Well, I take the stairs going down one step at a time, as in each foot on the same step and then move down one. I do this b/c my knees were so weak at one point, I would have fallen if I didn't do it this way. Now, I do much better, but I have to constantly remind myself to "workout" my leg muscles on the stairs to rebuild strength that I lost when I just physically couldn't do it. The other thing is some of those celebrities really piss me off. Entitled lot of them! ARRRRGH! Regular people would give their eyeteeth to have that sort of support and resources available to them and some of their attitudes could use a nice firm *****slap across the face. I'd volunteer. Can you tell I haven't had b/f yet?

I have every confidence in the world in you darlin! Doing this when you are so young is really gonna work in your favor. I can tell a difference in the efforts it is taking me now to the wt loss I had in 1999. And with any luck, you won't have the sagging skin dilema to deal with. :carrot:

You know, I made a few subtle changes in the beginning as well and started noticing a difference. The behaviors I established were built over a lifetime. It was less of a culture shock to introduce new tools into the wt loss process each week. I know you can do this!

Kayley: I'm basically a "raver mutt" It all depends on my mood, i mean i'll throw on some HHC and dance around the house with my daughter, in the car i'll throw in some speedgarage, hardcore... House o Holics i've been listening to alot lately. Basically, I love everything except Trance.. not too too keen on that. Pleasurehead and X-Dream are ok not my first choice of djs. Keoki.. i love Keoki... he's my fav. I don't really classify myself. I can't. Some nights i could go all out and silly with the KIK pants and Kandi.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words!

Afternoon All,

Ah......I feel much better after my sleep, but, I woke up with terrible indigestion, or trapped wind in my chest. OUCH. I hope it goes soon, it hurts :(

Sharon (neurotica) - Isn't Bob the nice trainer on the show, the lady is the one that's in your face 24/7 isn't she? I wouldn't mind Bob for a trainer lol. Ok now every time we chat I must remember to tell you to take those steps one foot per step  Seriously, you are doing so well, you must be doing something right with the exercise.

Sharon (voodoo) - so sorry to hear things are rough at the moment. If hubby carries on like he is I see an immigration to NZ being just you and your sons if he isn't careful  I am online now and will leave MSN on til it's time to make tea, so I hope to chat with you soon.

Lilion - awww that is so sweet that you cried so much at your wedding, it's amazing how emotional we get isn't it. Shame that nobody handed you a tissue. As for me, I had one hidden in my hand that was holding the bouquet

Tasha - Hello, hope you are having a good day and that you have time to write more soon.

Kayley and Katie - oh my but your conversation about music types sure does make me feel old. How about throwing in some words like waltz, or disco, and groups like Culture Club, or Duran Duran lol. Give an old girl a break

Ok, now I have caught up I am going to tacke some emails. Take care all,

Hugs,

Ammi :grouphug:

Hi everyone

I actually came by the other day and wrote a nice long post and it got eaten up by the rotten machine. :( I just wanted to say hi and Congrats to everyone for doing so well. Catherine--I'm so glad that your wedding day was a happy one and like the rest, I'm anxiously awaiting pictures. :)

I'm happy to say I've finally broken through my plateau. Yay! This morning my scale said 264.6 lbs. which made me ecstatic. :) I have to go cut someone's hair but I'll try to post later. I wanted to share my news with all of you though. I also have a NSV to tell you about. ;)

Okay, the honeymoon took place at the Fantasy Land Hotel. The Roman room not only had mirrors over the bed, but just about on every wall. It has Roman collumns and statues. It also has this big jacuzi hot tub with a full size venus statue pouring from a vase as the fill pipe for the tub. The bed was round and red. My mother was a beautician, so I learned how to do manicures and pedicures while in gradeschool. I brought all sorts of fun things like Dead Sea salt body scrub, and oils and things. He got his first pedicure ever, and was so relaxed, he almost fell off the bed. I did a whole spa thing with him, and had great fun. I found a great way to avoid the mirrors. I just left my glasses off, so I didn't have to look at myself constantly. There is a large oriental grocery right down from the hotel, and this weekend is Chinese New Year, so they had lots of party trays of strange things. I'm not sure what all it was, at least none of it made me sick, but the candied ginger was a bit hot. He ate sushi off my stomach. That was weird. He wanted to carry me over the threshold, but I didn't want to spend my honeymoon with him in the hospital, so I had him hold me under the arms, and on the count of 3, I hopped over the threshold. It was close enough. When we got home yesterday, he went to the grocery store with me. We went up and down every aisle, and he listened to every comment that I made about reading labels, and this brand is better than that one, etc. He had cleaned the pantry out before I got here, and he is only going to eat what I feed him. The medicine he has to take is known for causing diabetes, so he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep that from happening. It is a comfort that he is willing to not only support my diet, but to actively, positively participate in it.

Down 0.8 last night..but a loss is a loss so I am happy.

I was watching Biggest loser last night..I think it was the 2nd in a 2-part special with 2 engaged couples competing for a dream wedding. One of the people lost 25 lbs in their 2 weeks at the ranch. Nobody would consider such a drastic weight loss healthy. Then of course they get spoiled when they get home and have a fully stocked fridge and kitchen and a brand new home gym. On Celebrity Fit Club, the weight loss goals they set for them (never more than 8-10 lbs...which is extreme) are based on 2 week time spans. They do not weigh in every week. Very interesting.

Catherine..make with the pictures woman!!! I am dying to see how gorgeous you and all your wedded bliss were!!!

ZaInGgGeYl 01-19-2006 11:11 AM

Ammi, if it makes you feel any better.. my antiraver friends calls the music i listen to Disco BS... :D

lovegoddess1977 01-19-2006 11:17 AM

Hello everyone!

Congrats on all the losses!!! I am still trying to keep up but its hard! I am down 17lbs and its been about two and a half weeks!! YEA!!!!

I cheated a little bit over the weekend but I bounced back and went to curves this morning and pushed myself really hard! A good workout!!!

Well, this is a short one! I just got off work and am soooo ready for bed! 12 hours is alot! LOL!

Nite!!!

AmmiUK 01-19-2006 11:35 AM

Vicki - I know all about writing a long post and then losing it. It is so frustrating isn't it. I am glad this last post got on ok though.

:bravo: :cheer: on breaking that plateau and seeing a loss on the scales again. Good on you for keeping on with the diet instead of using the plateau to give up!! Am looking forward to hear about your non scale victory as well.

Catherine - your honeymoon night sounded just wonderful, I bet your hubby has never known such bliss after all that pampering. And eating sushi off your belly, what a wonderful way for him to show you that he loves you exactly as you are. What a guy. I am so glad things are so heavenly for you both! My turn to nag now, PHOTOS of the wedding please. All those cameras there and not a shot to be seen yet :D

Julee - well done on the .8 loss, you know what, if you were weighing on a scale that didn't show ounces I bet that would have shown up as a lb lost! A loss is brilliant no matter how big or small, so :cheer: good on you!

Katie - ahhhh there's a word I understand, forget the BS bit lol, but DISCO, bliss lol.

Lovegoddess - wow 17 lbs in two and a half weeks, that is good going! Are you working out like a crazy woman, or is that mainly through diet? Well however you are doing it, it's brilliant :bravo:

See, that is the interesting part. I tend to be a "scale slave" and at one point weighed myself DAILY. Now I am down to once a week, which seems more reasonable. But I can really tell a difference not only in no longer needing those afternoon naps, but also in my clothes. The scale may lie sometimes, but tape measures and clothes seldom do. :D

As for people who don't think small losses are a lot, here is an experiment to try. Take an 8 oz can of something, or four sticks of butter or a 5 pound bag of sugar (whatever the case may be for you) and hold them for a moment. That is the exact weight you have lost! Trust me, you will look at those "tiny losses" a lot differently.

As for making quotes from another thread, all I did was copy the text I needed, paste it here and add the quote tags around them.
