Hi everyone
Guess what!
I bought DDR 2 (Dance Dance Revolution) for Playstation 2 and it awesome!
It's great exercise because you don't feel like you are exercising.
It's so much fun!!

New and Inspired!!

I think that this is a FANTASTIC group of ladies. I am new here and don't know how to make the cute posts yet, but I will learn.

You all seem so dedicated and so open to newbies like me, so I am glad to be here.

Christy, how is the DDR? Do you get breathing heavy and stuff? I am not very good at Jumping Jacks, is it all bouncy like that? I just got Yourself! Fitness for PS2 and it is a personal trainer that guides you through workouts. I am in Texas and got it when we were snowed/iced in on Wednesday so I had all day to play with it and it is really good. I have a feeling it may start to get redundent, but up to this point, I have been doing magazine workouts and FitTV workouts (which have commercials and I always sit down during the commercials).

I have a question... what do you do with your old clothes? Although I am tempted to burn them, I am resisting. When I was 330 pounds, I would just buy whatever I could get into. It was very stressful to go to the store and clothe my body, I spent many hours in dressing rooms crying because I couldn't get any pants to zip. Yet, at the same time, I have made a huge investment in my clothes and want them to go to someone who will either wear them or pass them on. I gave most of my 26/28 to a girl who wears the slacks and shirts, but doesn't wear the suits at all and hasn't passed them on either. I am tempted to take what I have to the Goodwill and kindof pay it forward (I am getting most of my "until I reach my goal weight" clothes at Thrift stores now), but Texas doesn't have too many good thrift stores. And I would really like my nice work clothes to go to others. I have also thought about getting things sized and have heard that it can be about $100 and they can only go down a few sizes. Do any of you have experience getting clothes sized, would you recommend it?

Anyways, I am glad to be here and look forward to getting to know y'all better.

Rebecca

Hello, Rebecca:welcome3: , first use "GO ADVANCED" when you post, it gives you all of the options like colours and SMILIES, you put you cursor where you want the smilie to go then click on the smilie, it shows up when you post or "PREVIEW" your post.
About clothes, I give mine to charity shops but I am holding onto a very expesive suit I wore to graduate in, (£200 UK) I am sure there are people out there who will alter your favourite clothes for you at a price that is cheaper than buying new.
You have done so well 2/3 of the way there, :encore: wish I was so close to target.:tantrum:

I GAINED 6lbs  this week!!!!!!!:censored: I have been good food and exercise-wise but the tabs I've been taking for the migraine are not working. Fortunately I had an appt. at the doc's. so told her about my probs, she gave me some strong painkillers and felt my hands, feet and legs, they were REALLY swollen, as was my face, my eyes were almost encased in my cheeks!!! My jeans which are normaly so loose I can take them off fastened were tight, my wedding ring was very tight too. I have to have some blood tests and she took my blood pressure and did a urine test, but today I feel ok. There is no swelling so next week I have to loose the 6lbs + 1-3lbs of "real fat"!!!!

Hope everyone is well and keeping active,
bye for now,
sharon.

Welcome to 3FC! I've only been here a couple of weeks, but it is a great group of gals. I mostly post on the "over 40" thread, but lurk on this one. OMG, my secret is out! :o :D

Anyway... Probably there are battered women's shelters, treatment centers, halfway houses, transitional living, and homeless shelters everywhere. I know folks who have been through one or more of those places, turning their lives around, and they are always in need of donations. A lot of times, they don't get "donies" in large sizes -- at least not in Sonoma County, California, which is where my experience is from. I know that in some towns, there is a group especially focused on business clothes in all sizes for women going out on job interviews. Sounds like your suits would be especially appreciated someplace like that.

I find myself torn about giving away my size 24's which I'm just about, but not quite, ready to leave for the 22's. For me, it's about being committed to never needing to wear that size again... Anyway more to think about. Thanks & welcome!
