Default How are you losing the weight?

Since I'm new (ish) on this forum, I want to ask:

1. What are you currently doing to lose weight? A particular program, or just good old fashioned calorie counting?

2. What have you tried in the past?

My answers are:

1. The 3-Hour Diet by Jorge Cruise

2. Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Slim-Fast, starvation. I also had a successful stint with Medifast, until my hair started falling out and my heart began to palpitate. I lost 70 lbs in 5 months. I gained 50 of it back, and now I have lost 15 of that 50. (Are ya followin' me? )

1. Right now I'm basically keeping tabs on my calories, and fat, protein and carb %s using fitday.com; and I exercise every now and again (not as often as I should) and participating in various challenges on this board has been a great motivator!

2. I've tried Jenny Craig for a good while..it worked but it got boring and way too expensive...made some good friends on the boards there though...and earlier this year I tried the Michael Thurmond diet....I couldnt stand the restrictions on carbs and certain foods I can't live without...but it was nice to know what foods I should have more of.

1. I am currently losing weight by watching my calories and like Rosie I am also tracking all the percentages on Fitday.com. I am drinking plenty of water. I haven't had any soft drinks in almost a month. I only drink water and sugar free kool-aid. I am also walking a mile and a half every night and doing a few days of cardio and weights.

2. I have tried diet pills and low fat diets before.

Wish all of you success with your weight loss!

Hi Jen,

Good question, it will be interesting to hear how other people here are losing the weight.

So my answers are -

1. Right now I am following the Weight Watchers diet, using the 123 Success points plan. It is working well for me because I love being able to eat what I want as long as I stay within my point range.

2. Diets I have tried in the past are Slim Fast (too boring as it was just shakes at the time) counting calories, Rosemary Conley Hip and Thigh Diet, and WW which has failed in the past because I gave up on it. BUT, I won't give up on it this time.

I hope everybody finds success no matter which way they are dieting.

Hugs,

Ammi

Hi

1. What are you currently doing to lose weight? Right now, just counting calories and trying to make good food choices

2. What have you tried in the past? What haven't I tried?????

My biggest deal right now is exercise- that is, that I don't do it

That is my goal for October- find something and stick to it. I have been renting exercise DVD's from Netflix, which is awesome because they have hundreds, but I am finding that I am so out of shape, most of them are too hard. But, I am going to keep trying.

Currently I am counting calories (1200-1500 a day) and exercising...daily cardio walking and/or ellyptical and weight training 3x weekly.

What have I tried before? When I was in the 7th Grade (eons ago) I was on Weight Watchers with my mom...

edited to say: My bad...hope no one minds that I replied to this forum...I didn't look at where I was and thought the topic was interesting.

1. I'm doing the WW Flex Points program. I'm also going to the gym 6 days a week, doing cardio, and weights 3 days a week. It seems to be working so far.

2. In the past I've tried Atkins - it worked too, but I felt weird eating so much meat!
I've also tried starving myself when I was a teenager; that worked too, for a while.

Just trying a low fat diet, and lots of good old fashioned exercise!
