30 A Day in June Exercise Challenge!!!!
 
Here we go.... :cb: :cp:

Our aim is to:

1. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day for the month of June


2. Support/Motivate each other

3. Feel empowered by exercise!!!!

Post your exercise daily. Any deliberate exercise counts, meaning don't include every day activities like walking to work, but post your activity for this challenge. I'll try to post 'roll call' regularly. Every little helps, so post even if you only got in 10 minutes! Pat yourself on the back and KEEP GOING! Good luck everybody and Happy Exercising! :strong:

Anyway, 30 minutes of stretching that sore hamstring and light aerobics for today. :)

I'm in! I didn't make it in time last month, but I am raring to go for June. Thanks so much for putting this challenge on the board. It really helps the motivation when you have to be accountable!

Hey Guys!
I'm fired-up!!! let me make a suggestion TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS !!!!
That way you will have a second way to measure your progress[ I've lost 26 lbs since 1-10-05 ] but I've lost 40 in. so even when scale lies you'll have a ref. point! or find a pair of very tight pants and try them on every mt and watch them slide on and zip up!!!!
and all ways rember that muscle out weights fat, so if you doing wt. work take that in account when the scale wont move.....but you have lost 2 ins off your waist and 3 ins off your hips[ now you'll getting the idea :D
OK, It on for JUNE!!!!

June 1st

:ebike: I went to the pool. I did 40 minutes of laps. Then the other 20 minutes I did water weights, situps and twists etc.

I am so excited to do this again this month. You guys are the bomb! :bomb:

Detroitlady, I agree with you about taking measurements. I started my weight loss journey on May 1st and I took my measurements then. I have lost 22 pounds from May 1st to today. My Hips have gone down 3 inches. My Hips are so huge. I am thrilled! :dancer: It is great to see the inches go down as well as the weight. Again. Super idea.

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill tonight. :tread: Had hair cuts this evening and got home after 8:00. Was so tired, but knew I was accountable to you ladies and got my butt on that treadmill and did the full 30!

June 2nd---DH and I did 30 minutes of walking and ended up walking about 2 miles.

Started out with the "fur" babies and knew my normal neighborhood walk would only accumulate to 25 minutes, so took another route and cut deeper into the neighborhood and ended up taking a 50 minute walk!! Boy, the babies were completely pooped out and I was sweating my butt off!!

Hello Everyone~~:)

You're all doing a great job! I did 15 minutes on the treadmill on the 1st and the 2nd. Today I walked my babies around the block and I danced in my living room for 20 minutes--:) I didn't know it would be so hard. That's okay--I'm getting better and I'm getting more exercise in. Yay! I'm planning on adding the extra time from the first 2 days into my workouts next week.

I did a 45 minute walk, but the babies rode in the stroller this time. (I pooped them out yesterday, and yes, I'm over the top as I do have a genuine dog stroller I purchased for the "kids!") Their my mid-life crisis children. They don't talk back, they don't turn into alien teenagers and I don't have to send them to college!!

I did some unconventional exercise today (june 4th). My sister moved today and I went over to help...so her place had no electricity and consequently no A/C...so the game plan was to pack and move as quick a possible and since I knew I would be wore out I made it into my exercise...I kept moving and did everything double time...I even volunteered to go upstairs and bring stuff down over and over...so I count it as over an hour of exercise and know I sweated a ton :D

Hello Everyone!!

You guys are doing GREAT!! :D I'm sorry I havent been able to check in, I have had company this weekend (Till Wed.) and I havent had a chance to get online. I have been doing my exercise though!! :D

Thursday: 1 hour FIRM video and a 40 minute (1 1/4 mile) walk
Friday: 40 minute walk again
Saturday: 40 minute walk again

Im pretty proud of myself... this week (From Sunday to Saturday) I have walked 6 1/4 miles and I have done my yoga video twice, my 30 minute upper body FIRM tape twice and the 1 hour cardio FIRM video once!! Woo Hoo!! I have kicked butt this week!! :D

I seriously cant wait to see my measurements at the end of this month!! :D

Yay for the 30 day challenge! :D Keep up the great work guys!

04 June

Well my leg swelled up and went really achey. Oddly, hubby was sore and tired too (hope we're not getting sick!). So, neither of us were up to this week's 6 mile walk :(

I did 30 mins of yoga instead. Ug... I need my leg to get better! The walk for life is in 2 weeks and next Saturday I'm at a wedding... I hope I am back to my walking maniac self on the day of the Walk...

congrats everyone on getting that exercise in!

hey gang, are we diong this or what :encore: decided to bring it down a knot today! I did a streching cd I got last year, for the mature female.
I really enjoyed it!!!! and boy do my muscles feel good [CD was 45 min long]

If its not too late, you can count me in. Being that today is June 5....that gives me 4 days @ 30 mins. each to catch up on, totalling 2 hrs (or 120 mins.)

So to make that up I will be doing at least 35 minutes of exercise each day from today forward.

Sometime during the daylight hours I will be heading to a place called City Park in Warwick, RI to get in at least 35 minutes, if not more....its about a 3 mile windy trail through the woods and by water and stuff, absolutely my favorite place to walk.

Once I do that I will update. And I will also update with the number of steps I walked today as I do wear a pedometer from the time I wake up until I go to bed most times.

Sunday, June 5 - Hubby and I cleaned the gutters out (about an hour) and then I mowed the yard (another 45 minutes). Not conventional, but boy it was definitely exercise!
