We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs. We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears. We share what works for us and what doesn't. We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion. Motivational Monday Tuesday Tips Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it. Hi all-
I'm new here, looking for support along the journey like everyone else! Top weight (2 wks ago) 330, present weight 320...after the stomach flu. I'd like to join your challenge, if I may. Question- Has anyone here tried hypnosis? I've actually very recently started going to a hypnotist as an adjunct to diet and exercise. So far it seems to help a little with staying focused, but it's really too soon to tell. :dizzy: |

Welcome prplecat, I haven't tried hypnosis, but I think I have tried every other way to lose weight, so maybe that is next! :idea: I think you will benifit by joining this group of ladies. Hope to see you around :) . I am not going to join Oprahs challenge. I would, but I have found that I CAN lose weight while eating a wide variety of foods including some white. I love a baked potato now and then and I'll be darned if I am giving that up! If I can lose 5# in two weeks while eating a little of everything, shoot, why would I want to change that? She looks terrific doesn't she? It is time for me to go and EXERCISE, so I am out of here for now. I will check back later. TA! Iwillbe :wave: |

Yep, Marcie - Oprah restricted white starchy carbs. I'm not joining in her bootcamp either. Just using her exercise as a goal for each day. Leanne - Sorry you're having a tough time. Don't ever feel that your 5 years was a waste of time. It may take time but it will worth it. It may open doors that you never expected. Don't get down! :wave: to everyone else this morning! |

more time.This is the third time I've tried to post. The weather in OH. is mild today 34 degrees with flurries. I still put on my glad rags and walked outdoors my 40 minutes. As I said the exercise would kill me off. Hey gang--A little non-scale victory to share... I decided to try on an outfit I haven't been able to fit into for a couple of years, and it fit pretty well, so I'm wearing it, and man oh man, I've been getting compliments all day. One friend told me I should wear this every day (wonder what that says about the rest of my wardrobe, lol) and another actually pointed and stared.
Thin—Hope the “baby” gets his car back soon… how crazy to be sharing for so long. On weighing… I’ve actually gotten to where I weigh at night and in the morning, so that I have a good idea how much I vary… that helps me put all kinds of blips into perspective. Sorry to malign your in-laws!!! :o Terri—Whoops! I gave Thin all kinds of sympathy for YOUR in-laws. And congratulated her on your size 18s. So…. :foot: :foot: 35 miles! Wow, that DOES mean some training. Leanne—Sorry you’re feeling so down. I often feel that I’ve been “wasting” the last few years too… but you know, life happens the way it does, and we go at the speed we’re able to. What I admire about you is that you’re always here, always ready to keep going. And that’s what matters—making the most of this moment. Looking backwards won’t help either of us. Hey everyone :) I just want you to know that I have been reading, just not posting. I don't know why but I've just been so unbearably tired lately. I eat healthy, do some exercise, go to bed kinda early.. and I just always feel tired. Its exhausting heh. I dunno. My mother thinks I'm sick with something but who knows. I'm trying though. Either I'm exhausted trying to stay awake or I'm spending all my time doing school work.
Ill have to catch up on replies another time. Happy Birthday to those of you I've missed, and welcome to the new members. Congrats to everyone who's loss or who is staying OP! Ps. - I cut out "white" foods from my diet a while back as well. Brown whole grain rice instead of white, only whole grain breads, no potatoes etc, whole grain pasta, etc. Not much difference to me.. but who knows :) I do lose even without much effort so maybe the 'diet' is good. |
I already roll called, but as I have read many of the posts, my confusion is cleared up :lol: I'll go ahead and start the 2 weeks at 354lbs. *chanting* February 28, here comes 352lbs+!!
Okie well hehe, now that the confusion is cleared up, I'm feeling much better now. Slight sore throat, and I still get dizzy when I stand up. I may I think have had an ear infection as well... my ear did hurt, but I thought it was sympathy pain from my throat hurting (mainly because it didn't really feel like an ear ache) :dizzy: I have been sleeping alot, which i guess in this case was a good thing, because I'm feeling much better. I want to thank everyone who sent well wishes. Hopefully I can get over this bug and get myself back on track, I wish I had that “not hungry” feeling more often like when I was sick hehehehe. I’m attempting to go to work today. I’ll try to do more personalized replies once I feel up to staying up longer. I hope everyone is doing okie! Take care… Sue… |

Good evening all!!! I just wanted to share my success story for the day. At work...they had a celebration and had like 10 kinds of cake (for free) in the cafeteria today. I STAYED AWAY!! But then in the afternoon ....they moved the cake to all the breakrooms in the building...including the one that I refill my water cup at several times a day. The one that is only about 15 steps from my office! I walked by that cake at least 3 or 4 times this afternoon and didnt take a single bite! I was SOOOOOO proud of myself...especially after the bad food week I have been having. :smug:

OMG I actually TOOK THE STAIRS from the long hallway on the 1st floor to my office. Decided to give it a try since one knee has been feeling pretty good and it's the knee that goes "up" first. It's better for me and cuts off quite a bit of my walk. :strong: And, for a bit of incentive I ordered a new pink, lacey, bra from Lane Bryant. It's largest size size was one smaller than I wear but I decided WTH I'm ordering it. It came, it fits, :D I'm wearing it.!!!!!!! Time to get to work, |
Good morning!
I am so ready for spring. So ready for peaceful days again. My MIL's oldest sister passed away yesterday. She was 87 and suffering from dementia and in a nursing home so it is a blessing for her to be free. However, still very hard on my MIL who has been worn down from all the other family trauma. So this weekend will be filled with more family stuff. My fav DH cuz called last night and said to me that she didn't know how I even endured all the crap. Just about to do me in at times. But then again, I walk the dog to clear the head and go spend time with the horse girls. Which I wanted to do tonight. Sigh. Work sucks but I'm staying away from the snack machine. I had asked to take Monday off so DH and I could spend the day together but now it will be at the funeral and aftermath. BIL is making big strides now. They are scheduling his release from the rehab which will be as soon as they clear the carteriod artery next week and as long as that's okay. He'll go home and then spend several hours a day in rehab as an outpatient. Finally looking good. Judy - I've started doing more stairs this week too. Good job! Okay, I have to get to work. I have a suck project that has to be done today. The boss gave me one of her famous dirty looks yesterday because it wasn't done. I just thought whatever and walked away. I will survive! 2Cute--I'm with you, I really never WANT to exercise. I have to force myself. Right now I'm working on that 20 min/day goal. I keep trying to just find reasons to force myself to take a 10 min. walk that I wouldn't normally take--park a couple blocks away from where I'm going, etc. That was why I happened to be walking by the dude who winked at me yesterday! The nice thing about parking away from where I'm going is that I walk pretty fast, since I'm actually headed somewhere, so even though it's a short period of time, my heart rate's up by the time I get where I'm going. I hope you can find some tricks for yourself until the pool opens up--you deserve the health benefits of exercise sooner rather than later.

Marcie - well done on the cakes!! I don't think I could be as strong as you were. I had a teachers course yesterday - fully catered - and they plomped the large plate of pastries for morning tea down right in front of me. I guess I looked like the person who would appreciate them :) Anyway I managed to go for a small muffin instead. At least they had healthy salad sandwiches and wraps for lunch!
Angela you go girl! Before you know it you will be getting wolf whistles :) :) j-ann great going on the bra! Can't wait for the day when I can buy really nice underwear :) Terri - so sorry to hear about your ongoing family troubles. It must feel like it's neverending at times. Good news about your BIL though! I hope things settle down for you soon. I've woken up with a sore throat and cold symptoms (probably why I've been feeling depressed the last few days) but still have a few contract work things to do (at 6:30 am!) before I head off to this teachers' course. Hello! I don't know if you guys remember but I posted here for awhile. And I had life slap me upside the face so I haven't had the chance. I have occasionally "lurked" to see how every one is doing. I have jump started myself in the last month. I have been lifting weights, walking on my treadmill, and doing my Denise Austin Tape. I am trying to get back with it and stick with it. Sorry I disappeared. Everybody seems to be going great guns.
