Thin Count me in for Spring Fling2 !!! Nothing much happening here is Dallas. I'm thinking about getting out of my chair and bring in some plants before I leave to work out! http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/20039...s/BugsHugs.gifThis is for every one else!!! http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/20039...s/barbcryn.gif |
Thread 600!
Thin, we were in Vegas about 3-4 years ago (time flies). We stayed at NYNY which was okay--just a "dark" feeling hotel casino. We really enjoyed ourselves there and we didn't even gamble that much. It was so much fun going into the different casinos and just looking around. The next time we go and we do hope its in June or July, we want to stay either at Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, or Mirage. There is so much walking there; however, remember there are taxis and shuttle buses. Make use of them. Also, there is so much to look at in each casino you can take your time and "make pitstops" and rest and still feel like you're doing alot. Make use of the fun stuff where you're staying at too. Take a tour that takes up a full day. I understand what you say about keeping up with your husband and all...but honestly y'all are going to have so much fun! :D Just sitting and watching people is fun...cos there are some crazy people who visit (and probably live there too) Vegas. BTW, the breakfast buffet at Nathan's (NYNY) is great and the dinner buffet at MGM is good also. At these buffets you can stay on program. Drink a lot of water while you're there. That will help. I can't wait for you to get back and tell us what you did! :D Terri and Thin, for some reason my satellite dish went out on my local channels last night for 45 minutes during SURVIVOR! :( That was the first time that ever happened and I was going crazy!!!! So Chad was given the old heave-ho? Hmmm... cd, I hope you're feeling better today. :grouphug: Kerri, what a great thing you did--giving blood. My father-in-law goes into the hospital for an operation in January. He's 80 years old and he's scared to death. They will not be using his blood; they have to get it from the blood bank. You (and others) served 500 people? Wow. :) My small town is growing by leaps and bounds Sandy. So many people are moving into brand new neighborhoods (and I was one of those also 6 years ago). Guess what I heard? Olive Garden restaurant is coming to my town! I am so excited! :D There was excitement in the air when an Arby's was built last year! And within that time, a Ruby Tuesday (restaurant) and a DQ has been built! I'm here at work and the phones are starting to ring. I'll have to come band and post some more. :) |
Good morning all. I got to bed last night.. or rather this morning at 4:30am. Then woke up at 7am on my own.
I woke up thinking about our Christmas game. I think now I am going back and exchanging what I bought. LOL Barbg... THANK YOU !!! I really need those turkey reminders every day. Gail and Sandy... I kind of live in a small town... but the big town is only a few miles away. I moved from a town of 40,000 ...to a CITY of 500,000 ... back down to a city of 40,000 that grew to 90,000 quickly... and now I am in a town of 4,000. LOL My home town now literally rolls up the sidewalks at 6pm. That was hard to get used to... my former cities stayed open 24/7. I actually like the small town thing... but I don't particularly like MY small town. There are so many CUTE small towns... mine isn't one of them. :( Oh well. I am out of here. Lots to do today. (hopefully a nap sometime too) |
Small town???? Mine is like population 800 in the summer months. 600 in the winter?
|
Ya know what? I don't think I live in a small town. I don't know the population but its probably too much to be considered a small town. Plus, I can be in Baltimore, Md or Philadelphia, PA within 90 minutes tops...depending on how fast I drive and how the traffic is running. I shop at King of Prussia in Pennsylvania on a regular basis. But then again, I think nothing of hopping in my car and traveling to shop. I think where I live is just the ...."burbs"... :)

Hey everyone :)
I've been riding the waiting this out in bed roller coaster, and although I've been reading everything, I haven't had much to add in myself. I'm loving all the enthusiasm, and it leaves me feeling so excited and happy to be returning full force to the game myself. I'm going to set an appointment at Decision to get weighed on Monday. I pray I haven't regained too much. Really sure there isn't going to be a loss at this point. I haven't been eating out of bounds, but there is just sooooo little activity I can do at this point. We will see. I'm not going to beat myself up over maybes. I'm a lover of the small town life myself. Our town is really tiny! We sport about 420 people here, but there are two huge subdivisions going in that will probably triple the population of our town. *sigh* I really hate urban sprawl. I love my teensy town. I'm with Thin's recommendation on Shall We Dance. It was such a good movie! The moments between Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon were priceless. I will admit to getting home from the movie and calling my sweetie, reminding him of a promise he made me long ago to take ballroom dance lessons with me. There is nothing in this world like a good Rumba! ;) I'm going to work on my crocheting for a bit. Have an afghan I'm working on for my youngest. She keeps asking for progress reports on it. I'd better get some more done, because she is disappointed when I go a day without doing anything! Andria |
Andria, you might be pleasantly surprised when you weigh in. :) I can crochet a little but my passion is knitting. In fact, I just came back from a yarn shop--thank you for 1-hour lunches!!! The other two secretaries in my department love knitting also. Knitting and I'm sure crocheting is the same thing, is so soothing. I just sit and knit at night and get in "the zone"...

Small town???? You don't even know what one is - mine is 352!!!!!!!!
When I drive to the Cities I pass through one that has the population of 52!!!! |
I have the pumpkin pie with phyllo dough in the oven as I type! I'll let you know how it turns out. I earned :censored: activity points walking all over the :censored: store looking for the phyllo dough. I stood in the freezer section for 15 minutes trying to find it. Turns out it was spelled FILLO dough instead. :censored: We'll see if it was worth all the hassle.
Oops, I forgot to make the bread for dinner. Bye! |
Okay.. I missed something... what is so special about this Fillo dough ??

Drive By Posting
Hiya Ladies,
Sorry I've been lurking for so long. Have read every post, but alas, have been either too busy or too tired to write. This post will be short as it is. DH's b-day today. We went to our favorite steakhouse for an awesome dinner. The waitstaff surprised us with two huge "Mud Bombs" (coffee ice cream between two chocolate wafers covered with whipped cream) with candles in them as they knew it was our anniversary this past Monday as well. They said since it was a combo. anniversary/birthday dinner, we could pick which song they would sing! We opted for the anniversary song, which turned out to be "You Are My Sunshine". DH thought I had set the whole thing up ahead of time, but I didn't! Anyway, we brought the "bombs" home to eat over the next few days. We came home and he opened his presents and cards and we had his birthday cake. Well, gotta split. Been OP until tonight, we won't go there... But, went to Curves this afternoon and am going again tomorrow. He has tomorrow off too! :cb: TTFN |
Hi all! Just when you think life can't get any more interesting.
Remember last month I was telling you that the sleazy teacher I had encountered was finally going to trial? Well, I may not be called as a witness, but I am being interviewed by our local Channel 7 News in the morning. It's a long story and some of you that have been around forever may remember, maybe not. Anyway, if you're interested in reading what my school district is going through (and remember I tried to get something done about him when I was on the Board) here is a link to the story. http://www.metrotimes.com/editorial/story.asp?id=6714 The news piece will be broadcast on Monday's 6:00 news. The trial starts on Tuesday. 2cute: The "special" thing about phillo dough is that it's light and flaky and it allows you to have a nice pie crust without all the fat. After all, pie crust is basically Crisco and flour. Phillo dough is the stuff they use for baklava or apple turnovers. The flaky stuff. Gotta run and clean up my dining room. Then it's off for a shower and a beauty sleep. ;) Love  ya bunches. Wish me luck! |

I had a bit of a blowout day today, but did 45 minutes deep water walking, so hopefully that balanced it out again. I had a few glasses of red wine last night, and boy did I feel it this morning, as I rarely drink alcohol! But I was back on track today, no exercise because Saturday is my exercise-rest day, but I will be back in the pool tomorrow morning :) I want to take the digital camera and take some pics to show you all how lovely it is around there ... Anyway, better go shower before the movies! Leanne |
I'm such a glutton! I weighed in yesterday and stayed the same. THat will teach me not to go out and exercise each day!! Then we went to dinner last night...I had steak and shrimp and a sweet potato and ceasar salad. Ate all the salad and only ate half my dinner!
I'm off to the store to get cream cheese and splenda for a pumpkin cheesecake! My sister and BIL are coming to dinner tonight and maybe my nephew. I won't tell them the cheesecake is lowfat! Ha!! Lets see if they notice! OK I'll be back. Have to clean the house too so not sure how long I'll be...but you all better come out and post today! TTFN Michelle |

I had another NSV last night. No Dessert at Bunco!!! Nothing much else going on, trying to finally do my laundry as I had run out of clothes. http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/200396/siggys/Barb.gif |
