When is your flight? I just joined, hoping I saw this in time to be helpful.

I am 343 and I carry my weight in my hips, lower stomach fat roll and rear. I recently flew by myself and I was SO AFRAID I was going to be asked to buy a second ticket because I was in my neighbor’s personal space. I usually fly with my husband and obviously he doesn’t mind me in his personal space. Lol

Not only did I fit just fine in the seat, I didn’t even need a seatbelt extender! I definitely had to adjust it all the way out squish my fat roll out of the way but it wasn’t uncomfortable after it was on. American Airlines Sharklette plane if that helps.

It fit! I actually had a tiny bit of room because I lost 2kg in 5 days on my holiday! Thank you so much for replying x

Hi,
I'm Happy that you found this website

There's soo much compassion without anyone bragging about how they look after losing weight. People here try helping each other while sharing about their interests, weight & lives, we interact as friends.

I hope that you'll find some topics that work into your lifestyle & groups of friends. A group that I'm enjoying has people from different states in the U.S. & a member from New Zealand that now lives in Australia, we're all +50 yrs young on it. I'm also a Fitbit user & enjoy the walking support groups there, especially because I need knee surgery & I can't exercise for several months after my surgery this winter. I need to lose about 20# before surgery, so I'm just walking slowly & lifting hand weights while I reduce my fat & carbs grams.

I'm glad that your flight worked out for you! Take Care & come back to 3FC more often!

It is ok to need an extender! Just ask when you get on the plane. The flight attendant will either hand you one or bring you one. They are always very nice and discreet. You will be ok!!! There is a FB page called "flying while fat" join it for lot's of support!

The last time i flew i had an extender and like AmbieP said the flight attendant was awesome. I just told her on my way in and she brought me one without embarrassment.

Oh I understand the dread. I've learned that Southwest Airlines has a good deal for those of us who do not fit in the single seat: you can purchase the second seat (and USE it during the flight) but yet they will refund your money (of your course you must request the refund after the flight because they won't automatically give it to you) always. Perfect solution. You've bought the seat, but yet they refund your money. I found out about this quite by accident because I had a cast on my leg and was worried about fitting comfortably into a seat with it -- they told me I could get the extra seat if for ANY physical reason I needed the extra room.
