Here Comes the Sun Challenge
Welcome Everyone to the new
:dancer: HERE COMES THE SUN :dancer: Challenge This 10 week challenge will bring us to the second week of May, which by then the sun should really be showing some face again to those who live in the more Northern Hemisphere. For me... This is Prime Summer Sun for Scotland, as by the end of June the rain usually comes back again. The rules for this challenge are the same as before: 1) Please Enter your starting weight come the 6th March. 2) Each week enter your updated weight. 3) If you are on holiday or have not weighed in for any specific reason, please put a note in the cell and I will see it 4) If you have not entered a note, and have not weighed in for 3 weeks, your information will be removed. 5) Please comment on the thread about your progress, your ups and downs and lets motivate each other to a healthier life. 6) Please do not edit the cells. The Link for the Google doc is here........... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing You can also Enter measurements in the second tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet for anyone who would like to keep track and notice any changes from the beginning to the end. Now lets Motivate.... :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):):) |
Hi there - unfortunately I can't write on the Google doc - what am I doing wrong?? Not even started and already gaining :)
|
Arrrhhhh I am soo sorry, I must not of changed it so that others can edit. I suppose that's what you get when you make it late at night while hungry
I have changed the Link now, let me know how it goes. |
hi count me in again = last time helped me keep updating here and posting was very helpful and thank you
|
I lost 2.75 inches in the last challenge :D Hopefully my weight drops a little quicker this time with less distractions, which hopefully will lead to some better inch loss.
Currently my tummy measures at 50" which is slightly bigger than my bust, so this challenge will be to work on making that tighter. Would really like to see a 2" loss there, I am OK with the progress of my hips (don't have any), butt (don't have one) thighs, are slow movers anyway, arms too. Currently sitting at: 49" 43" 50" 46" From top to bottom. Would love to see a 48/41/48/ going on by May. So here comes the toning...... |
It works
now i have to work too:) |
Okay I am in :) I put 288 but I hope I can get to 285 or lower.
|
Woohoooo I hope this challenge see's big results for everyone. Was able to start at 272, really wanting to see 258 or there abouts by May :D
|
not doing so great this week hoping to balance it out before weighing in on Monday
|
Karencat I hear ya! similar here... just been a little over calories the last few days which has affected my loss, I have then been mindless snacking yesterday and today which is pushing me over again. Tomorrow I need to get up and go to the gym to work out, just suck it up and get busy. I hope that I can fix this over the next few days
|
I'm in! Starting at 222. Focus is more on exercise and sleep goals than weight. 8hours a night and movement most days.
|
weight updated managed to claw it back on weekend = have lost 2 pounds this week! better then I thought it was going to be ... ie 0 or gaining!
|
Welcome everyone who has jumped on board!!
This morning I weighed back in at my Lowest at 272 on the dot. My weigh in is on Wednesday, so lets hope I can lose a lb by then. So my plan is to be on track with my food, going to the gym today, then needing to go to the post office at some point, I also have an appointment with my surgeon to maybe get more cortisone, then I need to go to the city as I am planning to go back to drumming for the summer. So busy busy day!! Tomorrow will be gym as well, maybe even a walk. Lets hope I can get 3500 calories burned. |
Stayed up until 4 a.m. to finish work due today. I am hoping to spread the work out during the week and get my 8 hours every night!. Do I have to do anything to "save" my number after I enter it?
Thanks Dee aka activeadventurer |
Thanks for starting this Scotsgal.
In the past I have felt like these challenges were a jinx. This time I feel like it is motivating me to be accountable to myself and my goals. Hoping everyone meets their goal. |
Hope everybody had a great first week!
Not a lot of movement on the scale for me, but I think I'm able to get a better handle on my eating. Over the weekend, I had my final weigh in for a HealthyWage challenge I started in September. I surpassed my goal, so just waiting on the final results to be processed so that I can get my payout. Depending on how that goes, I may sign up for another challenge on there. :) |
Hello Everyone!!
ActiveA The spreadsheet automatically saves what you have entered, so don't worry about that. This last week has also been a very slow one for me, I was doing some mindless eating at the end of last week and it meant I have maintained all week, I don't weigh in until tomorrow, But I really hope that I can put in a loss on the sheet. So need to be careful what I eat today. |
I decided to have wings Sunday night so I saw a slight increase. Darn the sodium. I have been working out more so I hope to see a few whoosh's this month.
|
Interesting week this week down 2 pounds to 213
My sister showed our father my photo he asked where had I gone and didn't say anything rude Big change of attitude there |
Karencat congrats on the 2 down. Some people love us but have trouble with saying the wrong/right things.
I am happy to say I am down 50 pounds today from my restart! I am pushing very hard because I bought a beautiful dress on line for a wedding in June and I need to drop a lot of weight to make it fit nicely. (No returns.) Hoping everyone is doing well. It is so quiet. Please don't give up! |
It might be a little premature to say, but I feel like I'm finally back on track with my eating! I've been hitting my calorie range for the last few days. I've learned that I absolutely, positively need to log my food every day so that I don't cheat.
I've signed up for two more paid weight loss challenges online, since the first one went well, and with those has come a renewed commitment to getting healthier. On an unrelated note, my DH and I are looking at buying a trailer this week to start building our tiny house on! So excited! |
Hello Girlies :D
So I am frustrated with my self just now, because I know I can do better! I have weighed in the same for the last 3 weeks, I have been feeling hungrier, but I don't have the spare calories to do anything about it. I think I might need to re assess the times that I eat, so that I can space things out better. I was trying to up my calories after spending a year at 12-1300 calories, but now I think I may be a little too high, only problem is, if I lower it already, when I lose more weight, where will I get the extra calories from? Maybe 1600 needs to be my level, when sometimes I am 1650-1700. I am also learning to run, I have been doing interval running on the treadmill for my warm up every gym day. So far I can only get in 0.66 of a mile in 10 mins. The aim is to work towards a 10 minute mile, but it's pretty high impact and can feel the pressure on various parts of my body as I do it. I really need to get some weight shifted.... So I think I need to start living in the gym to get some extra weight gone. |
Scotsgal - That's great that you're trying to learn to run! If you've never tried it, I can't say enough good things about the Couch to 5k program/app if that's an option for you. I never got down to a 10 minute mile, but I was able to get to a point where I could finally jog a continuous 30 minutes without stopping at a pace of around 14 min/mi. :)
|
Ahh... I saw 301.8 on Sunday but I have seen 302.4 since then so that is what I logged. MEH!! I am trying not to be sad about things but it's taking its toll. I do think it must be water weight because I know I didn't eat any where near enough calories to cause that.

After a **** off track week have gained 1 pound also In this featured TTOTM and cravings haven't had for ages
Time to refocus and get this happening ☀️ here is getting less and less Sth hemisphere Didn't have the greatest summer so not looking forward to winter |
Sorry I've been missing recently, I nearly had to cut myself from my own challenge because I somehow forgot to update the spreadsheet . So all month I have been at 272 something and it has been driving me crazy. today I weighed in at 271.6 which is my new low, would be ace to get out of these darn 270's which have been taunting me for to long now.
Blicca Yeh I tried the couch to 5k, but they start you Walk/running for 15 mins, but I could only start at 10  However, I did go a run from my house to the end of the harbour pier and back which is 1.04miles. I did it in 17mins. So I think I will work on that, the more I do it, the less ill have to walk parts and hope to get the timing down. Ichoose Chin up! Keep it up, consistency is key. Karen We can do this!! fight the up and down battles and just keep going down :D |
This morning sees me back on track and down to 212 pounds!
|
Glad to see a loss this week. I wasn't so sure about it.
I have been forgetting that I have a tight dress I want to wear to a wedding in June. I have decided to take it out of the closet and hang it where I can see it. I need to stay vigilant and increase my feeble exercise attempts. Looks like everyone who is still in the challenge is doing well. Lets face it staying aware and showing up can also be labeled as success. |
I found my woosh this past week!! Down to 296.6 as of this morning. Yay!!
|
Yay everyone seems to be doing well so far, or at least making plans on getting back on it. Ubee I have done the exact same thing, but with a cute pair of jeans, top, strapless bra and a thong from Wish . The jeans fit, but they looked like they were cutting me off when I bought them, so I hung them on the back of my door, along with again a top that fits, but was too tight. I go to Germany on tour again in 5 weeks, and I want to be able to pack them and look cute and summery in them :D. I also have a £41 abt $50 Strapless Wonderbra that better fit by the time my friend gets married in June, but I have about 2 Inches to go before It will close...... so I wish you luck and I might need some myself .
Well I peaked at 274 something over the weekend with that world food buffet, but luckily I seem to jump back on it quite quickly. Yesterday I helped lay turf in my grans garden, I was there for an hour and a half battling with roots and a rose bush and other stuff... but just over 1,000 calories burned later, I was done. Abs are killing.... Quads are a mess  but I weighed in at 271.2 this morning which is a new low. So instead of sabotaging myself like I seem to do, I made a chart! I love my charts :D, I will stay under 1500 calories all week, and try and burn 1,000 calories every day and hope that not only I can see those 260's very soon, but to just get back on track a little. |
Blah I'm stuck again. I start to get some traction then it just stops. Its irritating.
|
Aww I hope it starts back up again...
My weight has been shifting this week, but I have had to be very much on point with every mouthful and I have been burning 500-1000 calories through exercise a day. Its exhausting :( But I have some targets to catch up on, so I need to keep going for a few weeks anyway. |
I enjoyed a nice whoosh today.
A while back I read an article about how as we lose weight sometimes our bodies fill those fat cells with water. After time it decides to let it go and then we get a whoosh. Ever since then I try to remember that when the scale does not budge after staying on plan. Wish I would have known that years ago... Have a healthy week everyone. |
Thanks Ubee for posting that I read that as well but I tend to forget. It's TOM so I haven't "lost" anything but then again I hold on to a lot of water during TOM so yeah... maybe I will see the scale move for next week.
I hope everyone else is doing well. |
Aww that's great to know :D
I wasn't so much on track over the weekend as Me and my mum drove up to see my sisters wedding venue (3h or so away). So lots of car sitting and we treated ourselves to British Seaside Chips (fries) which are high in salt and fat. We then had a few sweet treats yesterday, and today I am up by 1.9lbs. Today I have been fairly good, but not feeling the workout. Tomorrow I will be going to work my butt off. Lost 1.8lbs total last week ontop of my gain, so I am still making a loss. Fingers crossed I can get it shifted asap. |
Feeling stuck here as well. I know I need to make better choices, but I keep buying and eating junk. I'm keeping from gaining more than I have by spending a lot of time at the gym, but I know I could be losing if I made more of an effort with my eating plan. AAAAGHHHH.
On the upside, I did my first (machine assisted) pull up over the weekend! After being the fat kid in gym class growing up, I never thought I'd be able to. Pretty neat. |
I guess we are all in the same boat. I try to stay under 100g carbs per day but I have been doing very very badly lately. Yesterday I had 126g. *sigh* then I came to work unprepared. I am visiting family and I KNOW eating right with my family is the hardest thing. At this point if I can not gain weight I am happy.

Hi Folks.
It has been over a month! I have been very preoccupied. I found out that I have to have heart surgery in the next month or so. I have been spending a lot of time going back and forth to the doctor and am about half way through wearing a 30 day heart monitor. I am glad I started posting hear because what I noiticed is that today I am exactly the same weight I was when I started this challenge. That is remarkable considering what has been happening! In other words, not a lot of stress eating. I have made strides in my efforts to get more sleep and move more. I have been doing at least an hour of some kind of movement most days (usually stationery bike or walking outdoors). I have been getting to bed earlier on at least half of the nights Scotsgal, you were lamenting a few pages back about how your weight had stayed the same. Do not forget that maintaining is a beautiful thing! Each week has its own rewards. I appreciate everybody's support! Dee aka activeadventurer |
Dee good luck with your surgery and PLEASE keep us updated.
I agree with the maintaining and not gaining. Our bodies are a mystery and sometimes they may just need some time to adjust. |
Just wanted to share that I had a GREAT NSV!
I had bought the cutest Spring sweaters at a rummage sale while I was regaining. I never got to wear them until now!!! I love these sweaters. They are not your typical fat lady clothes. They are bright and cute. So happy! Come on gang let's keep whittling away at those pounds. |
