Hey Guys and Gals,

Its 2:19 a.m. I slept for 7 hours so thats close enough to 8 hours. I'm up for the day now. I went to sleep with a headache and I woke up with the same headache. I hope it goes away soon cause it really hurts. I took something for it so I hope it kicks in soon. I need to take a shower today and work out twice today. I walked around walmart and dillions for an hour at each place yesterday so I got alot of exercise yesterday. Anyway I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Cindylh 09-27-2015 09:19 AM

Good morning everyone.

Kalwoma, I don't think we've met. Welcome and congratulations on your loss and all of your amazing NSV's.

time4me2change, congratulations on your loss. I hope you're enjoying your stay-cation. Sometimes those are the best.

Hi Terra, I hope your headache went away. I also hope everything else is going well.

Sam, I meant to tell you last time I posted that I love your new picture. You look great. As for the belly, I think that's a problem that we're all going to face after losing a lot of weight. My insurance will pay for the surgery if it meets certain criteria, but only after all the weight has been lost and kept off for a certain period of time. I forget if it's 6 months or a year. And only if it is causing physical problems, such as rashes or skin infections. Otherwise it is just considered cosmetic surgery and I don't think any insurance company will pay for that. I have read that crunches can help some to tighten the muscles beneath the skin, but skin only has so much elasticity, and once stretched won't ever bounce back to where it once was. I have a long way to go before facing that issue.

I can't believe a week has gone by since I posted. Where does the time go? It's been a pretty good and busy week. I've been back on track and lost almost all of what I gained last weekend.

My knee gave out again yesterday so I've been walking with a cane again. We were supposed to go to our grandson's football game last night but because I was in a lot of pain and could hardly walk we stayed home. His birthday party is today. Leg feels somewhat better today, still sore but a little more stable so we are going to that. Then back to work tomorrow.

I hope you all have a great day. I will try to post a little more often.

Cindy ~ Yeah my headache finally went away. Mom has been having alot of headaches too so we're both wondering what is causing them. Mom thinks it might be mold but I hope its not mold.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Woke up at 4:00 a.m. cause my back started hurting and I wanted a chance to watch a few hours of t.v before working out at 6:30 and then after I work out I'm gonna take a shower and get ready for my appt. this morning. When I get home from my appt. I'm gonna eat lunch and then work out for an hour this afternoon and then I'll do the dishes and then at 3 p.m. I'll have dinner and then I'll watch more t.v until 6 or 7 tonight and then I'll go to bed for the night.
SamIAm86 09-28-2015 01:59 PM
Cindy Thank you I actually plan to update that today :)...I haven't asked if my insurance will cover it if it gets bad enough but I guess if I get to that then I'll ask. Thanks for your input. Sorry to hear about your knee. Just give it some rest and you'll be back in no time.
This weekend was pretty nice. Didn't get to the gym Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I had planned it out for Fri & Sat, but the weekend was so busy we could barely get out of bed on Sunday, and DH somehow hurt his back. Friday DH had a show early so we were home by midnight. Saturday was my friend's wedding. It was beautiful and the rain held off. I did get a pic of me and DH together that I really liked. Here it is: https://instagram.com/p/8G6MiQp3MS/?...sameatsclean26
I also got my girlfriend to take a full body photo of me to share with you guys. Here that is: https://instagram.com/p/8I9syCJ3Eq/?...sameatsclean26
I had lost a couple pounds during the week but my weight kept fluctuating back and forth. Sunday I weighed in at 219 so a slight gain and that could be with the food I ate that I don't normally eat. I still watched my portion and kept that under control and left before they had cake.
Today has been good so far. I had my usual bacon and eggs for breakfast and a snack pack of almonds for a snack. I just finished up having a lettuce wrap for lunch with a plum. I'll have another snack before I leave work and head to the gym. I'm probably only doing cardio today. It was hard for me to get up this morning...I seriously contemplated calling in sick lol...But here I am! DH's back is hurting him so he won't be going with me today. He can't tell if he pulled something or if it is his normal back pain and it's just worsened. He has had a bad back for as long as I can remember and his doctor has told him he has a few small fractures in his back that may never heal. He could have surgery but they said he could be worse off than he already is. He is also worried about osteoporosis. That is something that runs in his family and this morning he was looking up his medication and bone loss is one of the side effects. He actually told me he wants to do whatever it takes to get this weight off so he doesn't have to take that medication anymore. He really wants to get back to juicing because he said he felt so good when he did that and was losing weight. Having a Sams card really helped with that so I think I am going to go on Wednesday and sign back up so we can get veggies in bulk.
Hope everyone else is having a good day!!!
Atkins Induction Day 160
Hi all,
I have nor been posting for a while due to a very busy schedule and travel. Got good news and bad news from a New York Doctor. The good news I was cleared to travel back home to Florida. The bad news was her scale showed that my son's scale I had been using while in New York was reading 10 pounds lighter than my actual weight. That kind of bummed me out.
DW and I took our time traveling and stopped to visit several friends along the way. I had two tires blow out on my motorcycle trailer. First on I-81 in Scranton, PA. I put the spare on and it blew out on I-10 in Jacksonville, FL. Had to be the traffic side tires with heavy Interstate travel.
I got home six day ago and was faced with a lawn that had not been cut since June 30th. I did not know if I should call a farmer to bale it or try cutting it. I have been cutting it and picking up huge piles of fallen tree limbs.
I have stayed on my Atkins induction plan for 160 days as of today. I have never varied a single day. The great news is due to all that lawn exercise and sticking with my plan I have lost seven (7) pounds in the six days I have been home so I am close to what my ticker says making up for that erroneous scale..
Hi everyone.
Just checking in quick. I had a health screening at work today and got my flu shot. If our numbers are in a healthy range we are able to earn credits (money) towards our health insurance next year. This year is the first year I have earned the total credit. My weight has always been the issue but with a 5% loss since last year we can earn the credit, and I got that this year. My blood pressure was normal, my glucose was perfect and my HDL was in the healthy range. The only issue was my total cholesterol was 232 and should be under 200, so I have something to work on.
Sam, love the new picture too and you and DH are a cute couple. :) I have to work on adding pictures. I tried once and couldn't do it, but want to try again.
Congratulations to all of you for sticking with your weight loss plans. It isn't always easy but it is always worth it.
I hope you all have a great day tomorrow.
Quick check in...
Things are going well....Working hard to get this weight off. DH has been having back issues all week so he has not been able to go to the gym with me. Got my Sam's membership back yesterday and loaded up on all kinds of stuff.
Been busy with work and having a headache going on right now that I hope is resolved soon. Today is abs day so hoping for a good work out today.
Take care all! Have a great rest of the week!
SamIAm86 10-02-2015 08:16 AM
Morning All!
So glad it is finally Friday! Although I woke up about 5:00 thinking it was Saturday lol....I'm still doing well sticking with plan and exercising. I have been doing some research this week about carb cycling. This is what body builders do in order to cut down their fat % for competition but a lot of people have gotten on the band wagon with weight loss too. One of the people I follow on IG, Michael Morelli did a webinar on Periscope this week to give you the 101 on carb cycling and how it really does help you lost weight because you are constantly going up and down with carbs and protein. I have been watching my carbs very carefully lately but I'm not sure if sticking with a very low carb diet is right for me. I always have a hard time getting enough fats and protein on a daily basis and I am beginning to feel sluggish and I think it's because I'm not getting the right amount of each on a daily basis. I still have a lot of research to do and understand exactly what I should be doing for my weight, etc. That is something I'll be doing as homework this weekend. I also need to figure out an exercise routine that is really going to help me with losing the fat, gaining muscle, and keeping it. I have been switching doing weights 3 times a week with about 30 mins of cardio in the beginning and 2 days a week I do cardio only. I want to figure out a way to do weights every day and break up each part of my body and focus on that for the day. I did read that if you do cardio you really should do either HIIT or do alternating fast to slow, which I guess is still considered HIIT...but also doing it at the end of your work out instead of the beginning if you are going to do cardio at all. TONS of information to look up!!!
The hurricane is bringing us lots of rain. I'm not entirely sure on what is going to happen this weekend. DH worries about us being without power. I'm not that worried about it except for the fact that I just bought a ton of meat that I really don't want to go bad, that is a lot of money down the drain. I'm thinking this evening I may need to stock up on water and things like that, but what do you get that you can still eat when you can't cook anything fresh and still want to eat on plan? I'm hoping it bypasses us completely but I guess it's good to be prepared.
Sipping on coffee this morning...I got this dessert line that Dunkin Donuts makes, this one is caramel coffee cake. I have been on the search for pumpkin spice flavored coffee in whole bean form, but nothing as of yet...Not even the ground I have been able to find. But this is a good alternative until I find that. Yes, I am one of those obsessed with pumpkin spice lol....
Hoping to get work outs in this weekend, but I am making sure that I get my weight training in tonight in case I am unable to hit the gym due to the weather. That way I can at least do a work out video at home if all else fails....Hopefully the power won't go out!
Anyway I will try my best to post again before the weekend is out. Hoping for a loss this week....Fingers X'd!!! Take care everyone!
