Default power of meditation

I was meditating last night. And as many of us, I do have lot's of topics to work through. Last night I payed attention to my weight issue. As I was working on it/meditating our teacher stopped by and asked out of the blue: Have you lost weight?
Unfortunately I have to report that I have not lost weight. But I had pictured it at that very moment in my meditation. I hope the meditating will help me to get on the road of losing and keeping the weight off.
Has meditating helped you on your journey?

Haven't tried meditation. I did try yoga for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I got up from corpse pose feeling relaxed and ready to face just about anything.
