Lately I've been trying really hard to do portion control so hopefully I can finally go lower then 279 when I weigh in next.
Portion Control is tough. Good luck with that.
I am a plate cleaner. So I am trying to leave a few bites on my plate. Good luck !
i have always needed huge portions as im a bulk eater - i cant diet if i feel hungry too often. What i do is make sure the majority of my lunch and dinner is veggies so i feel less guilty about eating so much.
Tonight i will be eating a kilos worth of chunky chicken and veg soup but it only comes to 470 calories so it is WELL within my allowance but i know it will fill me completely.
Perhaps you need to play about with the balance of your food groups to see what makes you feel fuller. i KNOW i need bulk.
Good luck achieving your goals. You can do anything you want!
Thanks everyone for replying back
Rechyl ~ Thanks for the advice
I would say for the past few months I've been practising portion control as well. I just make sure the plate looks "normal" sized with equal portions of carbs and protein and then load up the veges and have a fruit sometimes too.
I cannot for some reason bring myself to count calories no matter how hard i try sigh! But as I've reached a plateau for sometime now so i'm thinking i might have to start doing so soon.
Good Luck! Hoping it works for you..
Thanks Cherry and Liliann

I kinda do what cherrygarcia does. I eat half a plate of veggies, 1/4 plate or less of carbs, and a protein. I tend to eat more protein than carbs, because it seems to satisfy me better. I am also weighing and measuring most of my food right now, because I had no idea what a healthy and normal portion size looked like. I am not technically counting calories, but I write down everything I eat and at the end of the day, I count the calories just so I can see where I am at. Some days I am really surprised to see how much or how little I have eaten...kind of interesting to do if you are bored lol. Best of luck to you!
I am not so much focused on portion control, as I'm still big so losing weight is easier, but I am trying not to eat to excess. I try to eat what seems like a 'normal' amount and wait to see if I'm hungry.
My big problem is that on processed snack foods and other junk food especially, I seem to think that whatever the package is, it's single serving size. 6+ ounce bag of potato chips? Serving size one. Dozen cookies from the bakery at the grocery store? Serving size one. Pizza delivery? Serving size one.
Thanks Noggs and Rabid for replying to my thread.
