I've read on a site yesterday that going to bed hungry is a good thing so that you can burn more calories while you sleep but my thoughts on this is wouldnt you have trouble sleeping cause you would stay awake thinking about food cause you were hungry so I dont understand how going to bed hungry is a good thing, Thoughts?
For the first time in a very long time, I was laying in bed starving! I already had all my calories for the day and tried to ignore it, hoping I'd fall asleep and forget. My stomach was growling so loud and it almost hurt that I was so hungry.
I went downstairs and had a granola bar (about 230 calories) and half a cup of water then went back to bed.
I slept the whole night without waking up once. I don't think I could have done that without eating something. And it was very unusual like I said.
I think there is a difference during dieting about eating before bed in the case of boredom vs. extreme hunger.
I don't want to get in this habit.
If you're hungry to the point that you can't sleep then no, it's not a good idea. Poor sleep is related to more hunger so the next day would be that much tougher. If you get hungry at night, save some of your calories for the night. Also, as far as I know, weight loss has to do with averages and not with anything you do on a particular day. Overall, if you create a caloric deficit, you'll lose weight regardless of when you eat (unless I'm wrong, of course, hehehehe).
I normally have a cup of decaf black coffee before going to sleep which may help with hunger. I mostly take it due due to being a diuretic so i am ready for the bathroom when i wake up. lol.
Thanks everyone for answering my question
