300+ Exercise: Jumping in June
WELCOME!! to the June exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process! In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month! To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes. |
Still unemployed, so have plenty of time for exercise. I am going to be bold and go for 2000 minutes (since I have made that that past two months).
Today I did 50 minutes of Zumba and an hour of Nia. Personal: 110/2000 Group total: 110 |
Didn't make my goal last month but will still be shooting for 1000 minutes in June.

I ended up doing some more yardwork at the house yesterday. I'll count 20 min
Personal total: 20 min Group total: 110 + 20 = 130 min |
Saturday: 1 hour of yardwork + oh, we'll call it 1 hour of walking
Sunday: 1 hour walk This morning: 30 minutes treadmill Personal: 210 / 1400 Group: 130 + 210 = 340 |
I'll count another 30 min today -- hauling boxes and such out of the basement:
Personal total: 20 + 30 = 50 min Group total: 340 + 30 = 370 min |
70 minutes today, mostly walking, some jogging intervals.
Personal: 70/1000 Group total: 370 + 70 = 440 |
Just back after my weekend in L.A. I had fun, but I was ready for cardio class tonight. The long drive home is hard on my backside!
Personal: 60/1080 Group total: 440 + 60 = 500 |
Had to take Sunday off due to swelling. I did an hour of Zumba yesterday.
Personal: 170/2000 Group: 500 + 60 = 560 |
30 minutes on the treadmill this morning! Bumped it up to 4.0 mph for about five minutes. That's as fast as my treadmill will go. When I bought it last year I was SURE that I wouldn't need faster.

tuesday: 30 mins of walking/running! 60/1500 Group Total: 630 + 60 = 690 |

I am counting 90 min from yesterday. I cleaned the basement (even found a dead mouse) and hauled some stuff up and down stairs. It took longer than that, but 90 min it is.
Personal total: 50 + 90 = 140 min Group total: 720 + 90 = 810 min |
Pilates last night. My armpits were sore from my push-ups training. That was a new one!
