  • I'm so excited, i went to the doctor yesterday to get on metformin for my PCOS & i found out i dropped 4 lbs since i was there 2 weeks ago!!! I know 4 isn't 10, but its better than nothing. Greatest feeling ever.

    4 down, 100 to go!!
  • Congrats sweety! 2 lbs a week is awesome and a great start! You can do this!
  • So nice seeing the scale move down instead of up, isn't it?!

Congrats! And I hope the Metformin works for you!
  • You are doing awesome!!

I know 100 seems like a lot (and it is!) but once you get the ball rolling, it gets easier as it gets addicting!

I never thought I'd lose 1lb nevermind 132 (and counting), so please trust me that I know you can do it!! If I can, ANYONE can!!
  • That 4 is the most important 4 you will ever lose. It means it's working. So stick with it and that 4 will soon become a 14 then a 40 then a 104!
  • That is really awesome Alyssarinker, so pleased for you
It feels so good when you see that number going down on the scale.
Good luck on your journey hon, you can do it!!

    Sam xxx
  • Congrats
  • Thanks everyone!!!! It feels so good! And since I posted this I have lost 3 more lbs. I can see where you say its addicting elvis! I just dont wanna stop
  • congrats! I'm on metformin, but not for a medical issue. My psychiatrist prescribed it to me to counteract the seroquel's effect on my appetite that I'm also taking.
  • have you gotten any of the GREAT side effects yet alyssa?
  • When I remember to take them regularly I definitely experience those side effects! I also take topomax, as a mood stabilizer (for bipolar and such) and an appetite suppressant in addition to the metformin (this pill is a new one my psychiatrist has added). The two combined really make a difference. My problem is consistency. They definitely help, though. Even the metformin by itself helps. I'm on 500 mg twice a day.
  • Thats what i'm doing 500 mg 2x per day, next week i go to 3 time per day. I make sure i take them everyday and it was bad at first, but its getting better! It is not as bad as i thought it would be.
  • 4 isn't 10, but it's not 0 either. 4 is 4, and something to jump for joy about!! And congratulations on your additional 3. Now 4 is 7!! Hooray!!
  • I'm on week 2 of 3x500mg of metformin a day (for insulin resistance)... and the side effects are starting to dissapate... Not 100% but i'm not as miserable

Those first few lbs are the most exciting, Just wait till you get to the mini goals, like i am lookng forward to being under 300 here really soon... I am so excited for it like christmas or something!
