A new Begining...
So i've been on this journey for about 3 months... There have been ups and downs, learning how to make WW work for me, relearning how to be healthy, finding out i'm Insulin Resistant and starting meds...
Since the begining, my dr reffered me to this place called Melrose Institute... At first i was resistant... I didnt want someone telling me what to do and how to live my life.. But I went cause my dr told me to... and fell in love with their clinic...
They originally were an eating disorder treatment program, but then Dr. Fitch started the Metobolic Health and Weight Management program... Its a medically supported mulit discipline approach, and insurance does not cover most of it... But my FSA paid for it and now $675 later (for the program without group therapy, that one is $1400) I am starting the journey with them...
I already saw a physician and psychologist there (LOVE them both to death) and this month i will also start seeing a Dietician, occupational therapist, physical therapist, fitness specialist, and a diabetic educator...
I will have assesments with each of them, and then 6 follow up appointments to use with whichever i choose... I will take 6 elective classes with them, including fitness, eating out education and classes for people with health issues that require them to monitor their diets closer... I will go to approximetly 48 appointments in the next 12 months... 8 in the next 4 weeks alone!
It's a great program for the support, accountability and the medical supervision...
I am so excited, and so terrified all at the same time... the last 3 months have been hard work, but now i have to explore the emotional part too, and rebuild a whole new world for myself...
I am having to lower my goal weight to tackle the IR... give up our convience lifestyle of easy food and eating out, and deal with the emotional issues that got me here...
there's just so much inside i dont know what to think right now...
