Default Try, try again

It feels like it's been several years since I've visited 3FC. So let me re-introduce myself. My name is Jess and I have decided to take the first steps toward my weightloss today. I've been floating in the 250-325 area for probably ten years now (currently 317) and the health issues are starting to become a huge burden for me in my personal and now professional life.

I have a new Wii Fit Plus and I plan to use that in combination with my treadmill to lose the weight!

I would love to hear from other newcomers just starting their journey as well as the diet veterans who can share their success stories and offer helpful advice. Anyone looking for a diet buddy to keep them accountable send me a message. LET'S DO THIS TOGETHER!!

Hi Jess

Sounds like you've got some good plans for activity! I like seeing that. Do you have any type of food plan in mind?

There are a few threads you might be interested in... there's a "Let's Get Out of the 300's" thread, there's a "Lifeboat Challenge" that's stickied at the top of the 300's section. It's about staying on plan. After all, staying on plan is what's going to get us to not only lose weight, but to keep it off.

I had at one point lost just over 100 lbs. But here I am. Gained it back (thankfully there was no 'and then some'). I restarted in April, and am feeling pretty good.

The biggest thing for me this time is just sticking to my plans one day at a time. I know myself. I'm good at committing. So I commit. I may not be the fastest walker, I may not always choose the perfect combination of foods, but I'm here. I'm eating less. I'm moving more. And I feel a HECK of a lot better than I did 3 months ago. And I'm here.

I'm sure we'd all love to help keep you accountable Glad you've decided to come back and get back on plan.

Jess, the important thing is that you keep getting back on it. I've been trying to lose weight for bout 4 years and have only managed to shave around 35lbs off... and that's after going up and down quite a bit. I've probably already gained and lost over 100lbs, too bad I couldn't do it all consecutively. But besides that, we're here and we're committed, and will keep trying until we are at our goal, even if there are bumps along the way. We can do it!
