300+ Jump, Jive, and Wail in June Exercise Thread
WELCOME!!!! to the June exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process! In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month! In 2010 the 300+ club broke our 2009 record and exercised for over 250,000 minutes. I don't know if we'll break that record, but I do know exercise is a great way to keep on plan. We invite you to join us! To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes. 21764 January 9935 February 14504 March 14575 April 13184 May ______ 73962 minutes thru May!! |
Some of you may have noticed that I haven't really participated in the exercise threads in the past two months. I also haven't been regularly exercising. It's a problem I hope to fix this month. I think I will set a low goal and see what happens: 500 minutes
|
I am keeping my goal at 1200 but concentrating on making those higher quality exercise minutes that are either weight bearing or get my heart rate up or are strengthening my core (yoga/pilates) and stop counting most of me daily non-exercise activity in these minutes as I think I need to distinguish them. I need to do more of both (non-exercise activity and exercise activity) . :)

Well since I past my May goal several days ago I'm gonna bump mine up this month from 1200 to 1400. Good luck everbody!
|
I think I am going to do 1200 mins this month....
|
Yeah! I finally get to participate in one of these from start to finish!
wow, you guys do tons of minutes, I'm just getting started and its still hard to walk, so am setting mine at 800 minutes |
Im going to shoot for 500 minutes. I know its low but I dont currently have any kind of exercise program or routine. I would rather start low and stick with it then aim high and set myself up for failure. Good luck everyone!

I didn't make my goal, but I'm up to being easily able to do 30 minutes at a time, so I will keep my goal at 800 for June.
