After sixty minutes of debating which forum to post in, I decided to just jump right in and post here. It's a bit silly how nervous I am right now to be typing this introduction, but I feel as if this post will be the beginning of a long overdue journey to creating a happier and healthier me.
My name is Kayla, I'm a 25 year old who was once awesome and fearless! I didn’t allow a number on a scale or the word “fat” define who I was. I was simply me. At a size 18, I never let my weight stop me from doing the things I loved. I joined the swim team, danced around on stage in musicals, and walked around the mall acting like a fool for all to see. I was happy with the person I was.
Nowadays, not so much.
At 304 pounds, the scent of awesomeness has long faded and the curtain has closed on my act of fearlessness. Instead of embracing the things I love, I hide from the world on my couch and watch through the window as life passes me by. After months of fooling myself into believing I can continue to live life this way and be okay with it, I am finally taking steps to reclaim the “once upon a time” Kayla!
I have tried to find support through other places such as Twitter and Facebook but as you can see, I am too wordy for Twitter and on Facebook, I highly doubt my old classmates care if I lose a pound or reach my goal of 10,000 steps a day. I found 3FC through a google search and fell in love with the amazing encouragement and support that you offer one another. I feel that this is the perfect place to start my journey to awesomeness.
Looking forward to getting to know all of you and supporting you on your amazing journeys.
Kayla,
Welcome Welcome Welcome. Your attitude is amazing! I too am very new, just started posting yesterday. I wish you all the best of luck on your journey to awesomeness. My posts can sometimes get a little long too, and I worry that people just don't want to take the time to read them. That's alright though, sometimes, just putting everything into words can help.
I can't wait to hear more from you! Maybe we can help each other out!!
Hello and welcome to both of you! I am pretty new too, but I am loving it so far Everyone has been so kind and helpful and encouraging!!
Good luck on your journeys, you can do it!!
Hey Kayla,
What I wouldn't do to have some that energy you are giving off today. I am glad you have decided to join such an awesome forum. Please feel free to share as much as you want.
The lyrics and the photos inspire me to stay on my diet.
If they can all lose all that weight and look great, I figure I can too.
It will take time....My weight loss has been so very slooow.
Hi Kayla,
Welcome, welcome to 3FC! You have come to the right place for support and motivation. I'd like to invite you to visit the POSITIVE UPLIFTING NOTIFICATION...Number Fourteen when you can. It's located here in the 300+ section. I like to visit it every morning and talk about anything positive that happened to me the day before and my positive plans for the day ahead. It's not always about losing weight. Sometimes it may be a good day at work or just the fact that your feet hit the ground in the morning. If we look hard enough we can find a positive or two each day.
I look forward to getting to know you better and hearing all the positive things going on in your life during this journey.
Welcome Kayla! I am pretty new here myself, but this is a very good place to be (both the site generally and the 300+ part). We can all do this together!
Kayla,
I can absoloutly agree with what you are saying! When I post pics on my Facebook on my progress, it goes pretty unnoticed (aside from the occasional "OMG, you look great" From a friend who hasnt seen me, or my page, for a while)
I am new too! Cant even have a ticker yet!! But so far, I have been shown nothing but encouragment and support.
I am so glad that you have made the CHOICE to change your life, and for the better. Stay motivated girl! Keep your head in the game and remember, your body is a temple, take the best care of it you can. Forgive yourself for the damage done, and move on! Its THE best thing in the WORLD. I promise you!!
I'm new also and want to wish you luck! It's all about starting this life change and knowing you are a beautiful strong women no matter what weight you are. As long as you are making a change that gives you more confidence in your abilities and makes you proud of yourself- that energy will thrive into success! You deserve to be happy!
