Unhappy Treadmill broken. So now what? Panicking!

My husband got on my treadmill and suddenly it's broken. It still works, but when I run on it, it makes this horrible bam! bam! bam! sound. And since it's in my garage and I run late at night, I can't subject my neighbors to the noise.

I can't afford to replace it or have it repaired. We have rain all day and night so running outside is *really* tough. I tried a workout video on TV and it barely pushed me. We have the insanity videos and the workouts are too hard on my knees and feet.

Please help. What do I do now?

visit a local hardware store and get a 4x8x16 solid concrete block. (they should be in the lumber/building materials section) and do step up, step down on it to a few of your favorite songs?

i work in a hardware store and they aren't very expensive. 2 dollars or so.

Put on a rain coat and walk outside. Discover a new yoga studio.

Look only if there is some information on repairing it yourself. There is a homepage call treadmilldoctor or so (google it). I don't think it is too tough to take apart and check it out. (UNPLUG IT FIRST!)

There are several Walk Away the Pounds videos and I am sure that you can find one that will be a good workout for you.

Thanks everyone. I'll check into treadmill doctor. I'm running 3 miles a day, so would something like Walk Away the Pounds work for me?

I think I might just have to commit to running outside in the constant deluge of rain.
