Unhappy Knee injury???

I hurt my knee some how, not sure how though! I have just recently noticed this past weekend that it hurts when I extend it fully and when I bend it (all the way). It is a weird injury because it doesn't hurt when I walk or do anything else. I think I may have pulled something? I don't know... It isn't swollen or anything and it feels like it may sciatica (which I do have off and on since I have degenerative disc disease), because I feel something pull in my back but it also a stinging pain in the back and front of my knee??? It doesn't make sense...

Right now, I am just going to ice it and put icy hot on it throughout the day. I am so upset, because I don't think I can work out on it (at least not unless I want a more serious injury). I feel like I am going to miss out on losing what I want to this month because of it. I just feel really DOWN right now. I want to exercise! I don't want to stop exercising and mess up my routine and get out of shape again.

Anyway, if the pain continues or gets worse, I plan on getting it checked out. I am trying to give it a few days, maybe even a week, before I go to a doctor. It could save me money if it is just a small injury that will get better in a few days. Anyone else have this before? If so, what was it?

Thanks everyone for the comments in advance!

I've had more knee injuries than I care to remember, and have the surgical scars to prove it. Your knee just takes the brunt of any extra weight. We are extra susceptible because female's knees are at a different angle than male's knees. We are additionally very susceptible to torn ligaments while ovulating because they soften with the hormone changes.

A knee injury can follow you for the rest of your life, so don't mess around with it. Have it looked at.

Let us know what happens with your knee. Are you able to walk on it for exercise without pain?

I have chronic knee pain, but that is because I have been heavy for basically my whole life. Any sudden pain that arises needs to be checked out!

Good luck!

Okay, so I don't think it is a knee injury after all. I think a nerve in my lower back is causing the pain in my knee. I know it sounds weird! However, when I apply pressure to the part in my back that hurts, my knee doesn't hurt. Seems like nothing I do with my knee hurts. I've been switching between a heating pad and ice pack continuously (on my back). It seems to be helping tremendously. However, it does still hurt... It may take a few more days. I will keep everyone updated!

Mommysince21505,
I can't say the source or why your in pain, but I'm having pain in my L Knee, it hurts to bend, I find myself stretching a lot and have Degenerative Disc Disease as well. Around 6 Month's ago, there was a pop with SEVERE pain in the bend of the back of my L Knee. Mentioned to my Doctor, and he said it was a Baker's Cyst. I sure hope you find out what it is and feel better soon!
