Welcome bj08! I'd love to keep up with you and start this off together. I set up my blog last night. No posts yet though...took me long enough to get it to be the format I wanted.

My first goal: Write up my mini goals, make a plan of attack and post them in my blog. Due Date: 7/5/10 :)

If anyone else is interested in a buddy - maybe exchanging emails or something in addition to posting on here? I'm up for it. I started at 309.6 on June 6 and I weighed 300 this morning. I was 296.4 yesterday, go figure! My goal is 150 by the end of next year, and then I'll take it from there and see if its possible to lose more, or if I even need to.

We're getting ready to go out of town for most of next week - leaving Monday, returning Thursday. Unfortunately, most of that time is going to be spent driving - its a business trip for my husband that I get to tag along on. Mon. and Thurs. will be like 12 hours or more driving, and a couple of hours on Tues. and Wed. Plus, we'll be eating out for every meal. Normally, I would like that...! This time, though, I'm really going to have to be careful.

So, my goal for the week is going to be to update my blog a couple of times, to really watch what I eat (portions as well as nutrition), and take a workout dvd and use it on Tues. and Wed.

I am new here too. Can I join you in weight losing? I am weighing in at 335 right now and I am starting my diet today. I will start my exercise program in about a month. I just had surgery on my foot a few days ago, so I can't even put weight on it yet. I have many health issues but I am going to try to not let them get the best of me. I am 28 years old and I have a lot of life to live, and I don't want to be heavy for the rest of it. My first mini-goal is 35 lbs by my birthday which is at the end of November. I know I can do this! As we all can!

Bj08--Hope you enjoy your trip. Those sound like some very long days in the car. How did eating out go? I always have the hardest time with portion size/balanced meal when eating out. Any tips?

Altoanya--Welcome to the mix! Sounds like you have a good framework set up for a timeline and goal. What a great birthday present to yourself. I'm certain you should be able to make that goal by then if not maybe more :) What sort of diet changes are you making? Sorry to hear about your foot and I hope a speedy recovery to you.

Hey everyone!

It has been a few days, hope everyone is doing what they need to to lose the weight they want to. It has been so hot here in NY the past few days. 97 yesterday with a heat index of 105+. Hasn't made it easy to be outside. Lucky for me, I had surgery on my foot a few days ago and I can't really walk anyways. Inside is good for me! A/C all the way!

I have been keeping a fitday journal, and keeping track of what I have been eating. Oddly enough, I haven't eaten over 1700 calories yet! So, who knows why I can't lose weight. I will be starting an exercise program in a few weeks, when my doc gives me the ok. Gonna try some Zumba and lots of walking! Also, some yoga and meditation.

:) What's up with the rest of you? :flow2:

:crazy::devil::devil:Hey I am also new to this, 308 according the great satan (scale) last time I looked (March). Looking for friends to keep up with and to keep up with me. My plan is....try to get a little more exercise and watch the junk for starters...hopefully I'll have a more discernable plan in the near future. Looking forward to getting to know you all better.:devil:

Total Goal: 129.9 (By September 2011 -- potential first day of law school)
Mini Goal: 278 by September 21st, 2010....we'll see!!!! :?:

We got back from our trip last night. It was sure nice to spend so much time with DH - he works such awful hours most of the time! I got hardly any exercise, but I did try to walk around whenever I could, and one day I went to a museum and walked around there for a couple of hours. As far as eating well? I feel like I totally blew it. Fast food, restaurant food, gas station food, and not nearly enough water. I'm trying to drink a ton of water, 'cause I feel all bloated (probably from way more sodium than I'm used to).

On the plus side, I guess I didn't do as badly as I feel I did. Today was my weekly weigh-in, and I am at exactly the same weight I was last week. So, I can be happy for that this week!
